in biblical times it was *very* smart turning t’other cheek since one could get injured and die from infection otherwise.
my spin on THAT was the cheek turning was a way of deescalating situations in a time when EVERYONE knew the risks.

I am a strong supporter of keeping the peace, a phrase I use quite often around home. That only works if both parties are acting in good faith. You may not win the battle but at least you have self respect.

I take issue with the claim that there are still journalists walking the earth. The last known journalist which I am acquainted, died in 1974. They were a grand class of selfless individuals who reported the news from a neutral perspective and then allowed someone to make up their own mind. They are as extinct as the passenger pigeon.
In their place are sub-humanoids, wannabes that are only able to sell advertising. They are only capable of a certain political slant. They consider themselves to be our “betters” although the dictionary identifies them as dirty, scum sucking pigs.
