  1. The Natural Catastrophic magazine gave up any attempt at objectivity and honesty years and years ago. There is a pre-requisite for any story to be considered for publication: it must link to the apocalyptic vision of man-made climate change.

  2. All successful systems attract parasites. National Geographic long ago went the way of Scientific American and Nature, once credible publications infected by the left wing viruses which then utterly destroyed their credibility and left them as burnt out wrecks of their former selves. They spew left wing propaganda until they become utterly irrelevant to anything and die off. Their lefty human viruses then abandon the dead host and move on to infect another established publication.

    1. This horse puckey has infested even the American Association for the Advancement of Science. It’s been constantly pushing this stuff for the past few years, particularly after Trump became President. There’s hardly an issue of its main periodical Science in which “climate change” isn’t being promoted.

And yet, Alberta, Saskatchewan, keep obeying all the laws and regulations that the rest of Canada ignores… They keep electing politicians who keep promising to gather ever more legal opinions… They keep trusting police and judges who go after “Clark” for “misgendering” his daughter, but who cannot remove a tent from Wascana Park…

    Good luck with that. Legal opinions and a quarter will get you 5 minutes at a parking meter.

  5. Yea…I used to call it National Pornographic…when I was a budding pre-teen (had just learned what “pronographic meant.! and went looking…lol).
    As others have commented, it has been completely co-opted by the Marxists disguised as “environmentalists”… I had a subscription 20 some years ago…cancelleddue to the political nature of many of the articles.

    Nothing has changed with these wankers, a quick look at their “Environment” section and its a story of Arctic Ice Melting “furiously” of course. Funny, casue the exact opposite is happening and my bet is that will continue.
    Bet they’ve never heard of Solar physicist Valentina Zharkova.
    And if so, have branded her a Heretic – Denier etc.

Well … you have to admit that if multiple CA Juries can grant $ hundreds of millions in damages from glysophate (Round Up) “harm” … even while it remains on the shelf of every hardware store throughout the globe (because the SCIENCE says it is safe to use) … then why shouldn’t Nat Geo publish lies about the health effects of tar sands? A dull-witted, poorly educated, weepy-faced public can’t follow or understand SCIENCE … so why should a Periodical care?

    Our world (and sadly, Juries) are filled with lonely women and a few girly-men who are “suffering” from “multiple chemical sensitivities”, as their “alternative health practitioner” has convinced them. Sorry women, but your gender is apparently highly susceptible to this non-science scam. So, according to their decidedly UNscientific multiple “healing practitioner” diagnoses … the entire planet is being poisoned by fossil fuels, and fossil fuel by-products. They actually BELIEVE they would be “healthier” if they lived 200 years ago prior to industrialization … when the death rate of children was about 1,000x greater than today. When a huge number of kids from every family never grew old-enough to even receive a diagnosis of a congenital heart defect.

    some 40 yrs ago I had 2 merlin bridges ie fake teeth with a gold bridge (which I still have) put in my mouth because the incisors in front of my canines were, ahem, *congenitally missing* according to the dental expert, as were 3 of 4 wisdom teeth.
    shortchanged 9 teeth. at birth. in fact, at conception. can I blame the oilsands and sue them?

    I dropped my Cdn Geographic subscription about oh, 20 friggin years ago when the # of pages got thinner and the stories got thinner.

    A special edition at the news stand.
    Thick,glossy and no science to be found.
    A missive full of opinion,slander and gossip.
    What did the editors mean by science?
    Does anyone in journalism know what the scientific method is?

  10. The Globe and Mail has drifted left for a long time now, since the mid-1980s. The Globe editorials and the majority of its opinion columnists support the federal Liberals and most provincial Liberal parties. In the Alberta election, the paper strongly supported the provincial NDP, and constantly attacked Jason Kenney. I concede that a number of writers for the paper’s investmrnt and business sections are either politically neutral or middle-of-the-road.

    The problem is, as one Tweet pointed out, is that the CBC News web site is hurting private sector news organizations. In particular, the left-wing CBC distributes its news for free, so given that why should people pay out money to subscribe to any other left-wing media, if they can get their left-wingery from the CBC web page for free? The problem with having a dominant left-wing media cartel, in Canada, is that it is, after all, a cartel — a cartel that rigs the news and opinion to favour the establishment left. Since the Globe, like any left-wing institution, refuses to intellectually diversify its content, why should people bother paying for the Globe, if its drab, left-wing content can be had for free?

    It’s gotta be the oil sands’s fault.

    Even if they weren’t lying about the medical statistics like Dr. O’Connor did, there are still many more environmental and societal factors.
