    1. Hello Kate;

Rotten Rache has been mailing cheques, er I mean bribes, just in time for the soft headed to believe that getting a pittance back is a good deal for a world of hurt.

Would you consider hosting a contest for creative ways for Red Rose Country residents to spend their Alberta Climate Leadership Propaganda cheques? I am so proud of one kid who took her cheque and bought a UCP membership with it. Any other examples out there?

      1. // to believe that getting a pittance back is a good deal for a world of hurt. //
There, there. Wait til Kenny drops the tax; when Trudeau imposes his tax your rebate will be much higher.
A Question though: will he bother pushing the Trans Mountain pipeline?
// Giving a green light to the Trans Mountain expansion as Alberta withdraws from the federal climate change framework would cost the Liberals’ // Chantal Hebert
        More votes in B.C.

    2. Adios Rachel: you Communist, Che Guevara Watch wearing, Anti Oil, 100 Billon dollar Debt Financing POS.

I’ll be going to Vote out today…GARANTEED..!!

      1. You need this smart woman for Canada PM.

“The science is clear. Canada is warming faster than the rest of the world from human-caused climate change,” said Canada’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, in a Wednesday morning tweet.
Canada’s disproportionate warming “is an alarming reminder of the need to take real action and continue fighting climate change. We can, we must, and we will,” Ms. McKenna said.
Finally, I will be able to wear my thongs down the streets of Canada.

        1. The science is not clear at all. What is wrong with this woman. Increasingly she seems more like a Chatty Cathy than a Barbie. Those are the dolls where you pull a sting on their back and the words come out. Limited number of phrases, of course. McKenna has about six different versions of the same nonsense. Really, as bad as some female politicians in Trudeau’s government are, McKenna is a complete embarrassment to her female colleagues.

          1. McKenna is a complete embarrassment to her female colleagues

I’d wager that she isn’t considered to be embarrassing. Don’t forget that in left-wing dictatorships, it’s always party before country. She mindlessly prattles the official doctrine, which is expected of all loyal members. Who cares if it doesn’t make sense? It’s what the Great Leader demands, and she, party fanatic that she likely is, complies.

    3. Last election 50 percent turnout and the split allowed 20 percent of eligible voters to elect the NDP. A good turnout should prevent it from happening again.

    1. The author, who obviously has seen his share of horrible shootings, uses logic and reason.
The average Canadian has been brain-washed about weapons. Many have the same argument that starts with: “You don’t need…”
They want the government to control everyone, except themselves of course.

  1. I never watch CTVNN but have found myself watching it last night and tonight. Nothing has changed my low opinion of Lisa LaPhlegm, she is a horrible skewer of facts, a propaganda source with a smile.
Last night, she produces a poll showing that Red Rachel is liked much more than Jason Kenney, but despite the questionable source of her poll, undisclosed of course, she doesn’t mention the fact that UCP is at a commanding 53% to 32% lead over the Commies.
So tonight, once again, Larceny Lisa again brings the story of Red Rachel, fighting for Alberta, presenting her oppo to a Senate Committee, over the Lieberals noxious anti-pipeline legislation. Then a slight mention of Kenney, and a poll, source undisclosed, showing UCP 40, COMMIES 34.
CTV is trying so hard to be CBC jr, god knows why? Independen5 polls show that Kenney is well on his way to routing the Commies, somewhere in the order of 60plus seats to under 20 for the Commies. Disgusting media slime

    1. The Rebel’s Sheila Gunn Reid has said several times in the past that a lot of journalists (many of whom were left-leaning) cozied up to Red Rachel in order to get some cushy gigs with her government. If the UCP does indeed win, how many of those leftist sycophants will find themselves out of a job?

      1. Every last Mofo’ing one of them….I truly HOPE…!!

MSM = Useless Propaganda pandering Full on LYING Communist SCUM. (Rebel News Def not Included).

      2. I’m hoping Jason Kenney fires at least 1,000 of Red Rachel’s stay behind network in the first week to be followed by thousands more over time.

        1. “News” on QR77 here in Calgary quoted Red Rachie as saying Kenny will be firing 60,000 government employees…thats a good start!!!

          1. QR77 has it’s share of ndp sycophants. They have a Trump hating outa the closet morning woman who pushes the gay agenda at every possible opportunity. There’s no holding back.
The news room must be populated by ndp staffers as well.

With all the economic problems facing Alberta it would be one hell of a lost opportunity to lose an election over social issues.

          2. QR77 probably isn’t the only one with lefties all over the place. I used to listen to CKUA’s classical music programs but after it ran ads for Red Rachel’s policies, I switched it off completely.

          3. BA
I’m a CKUA subscriber. Have been for decades. I know the place is full of lefties but I don’t listen to it for politics I listen for the music.
I was unaware they were promoting a political agenda. They should cease immediately or will lose more listeners.

    2. Ah yes, Lisa…..after the Christ Church incident she actually pontificated that “unregulated free speech cannot continue”! She is so feckless she didn’t even realize how asinine that statement was.

  2. On Sunday, Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer said he would welcome court proceedings on the SNC-Lavalin corruption scandal after receiving a lawsuit threat from Justin Trudeau.

Mr. Scheer received a letter from Justin Trudeau’s lawyer on March 31 threatening a lawsuit over Mr. Scheer’s criticisms of Trudeau’s conduct in the SNC-Lavalin corruption scandal.

Mr. Scheer released that letter on April 7 and also released a letter his lawyer sent in response, dismissing Trudeau’s claims and urging him to proceed with the lawsuit so Canadians get finally get the answers they deserve on the SNC-Lavalin corruption scandal.

    1. And today I get an email from Weak Andy 2% asking me to pay his legal bills for him.

Ah, fuck no. Get the Quebec Milk Mafia to pay.

      1. Yes! Me too.
He should pay his own legal bills and learn what a drain it is for us plebs. Self-entitled oafs!

    2. If only Lorne Michaels wasn’t such a lefty, he could come home and have a comedy show SNL(Saturday Night Liberals) or SNC Saturday Night Canada)… Who would do TrudyDooDoo?.. lots of laughs. No Cone Heads but BoneHeads..Wild And Crazy Nationalists.

  3. Ford government will now require gas stations to display Trudeau carbon tax price

The Ford government announced today that it will be mandating that gas stations display stickers that reveal the cost of the federal carbon tax for those filling up.

They will also be mandating that heating bills clearly indicate the cost of the federal carbon tax.

    https://www.thepostmillennial.com/ford-government-will-now-require-gas-stations-to-display-carbon-tax-price/?utm_source=The+Post+Millennial+Bite+Sized+News&utm_campaign=e0e0921bf4-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_04_09_07_46&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_dfff09204e-e0e0921bf4-150112431

    Hopefully Saskatchewan follows suit.

    1. Ken, once Ford’s plan, to make the Trudeau Carbon Tax clear to consumers, is put in place, the corporate media cartel (CBC and CTV News, the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail) will go bonkers. The media cartel like high taxes on average Canadians, and the cartel likes taxes to be hidden and unclear. All of this is to help out their tax-and-spend federal Liberals.

      1. They already are. It was all over the 6 o’clock news here in Ontari-owe last night.

“Big Doug bad man. Big Doug like Trump/Hitler/Naziiiiiiissss!!!!”

    2. I gassed up my plane on Sunday and was given a hand-written invoice showing the carbon tax added on BEFORE the HST was calculated.

A tax on a tax, as if flying a plane wasn’t expensive enough!

      1. Rich S – that’s how it works everywhere. Checked my home heating bill and – sure enough – everything is included in the price before GST is calculated. Fill up the vehicle; it’s GST included but a quick calculation shows the GST is charged on all the various hidden taxes. The Lieberals won’t tell you that, but they’ve definitely included the increased GST/HST revenues in their spending plans.

    3. that got anything with the gawdawful idiotic inexplicable plan to pry license plates off the front of motor vehicles?
who the FFUUCCKK came up with that one?
      jeezuz murphy.

  4. My Platonic Conversion by Johnathan Strathdee

As Aleksander Solzhenitsyn wrote in the Gulag Archipelago, “[T]he line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being.” His point was that utopian institutions like Communism don’t perfect humans, they merely absolve them of responsibility for the evil actions they take. Modern progressives don’t understand this – maybe because of their disregard for the ideas that have formed the very foundation of western civilization – which is why they so easily adopt authoritarian rhetoric and policy to achieve their social, political and economic objectives. Only through liberal education can we begin to understand the dangerous folly of this approach.

    https://www.c2cjournal.ca/2019/04/my-platonic-conversion/

    1. Very true. This skewed thinking is at the essence of our social problems. Someone (maybe Ken?) posted a link to a David Horowitz talk about his new book, Dark Agenda. He makes the same point — how individual responsibility and human freedom are integrally related and how the left is destroying freedom in their flawed quest for a utopia. It is a very good video, so I am posting the link again: https://youtu.be/7PAHNy4nGf8
We are on a very scary path once again.

    2. Thanks Ken. I know the author personally, watched him grow up on the farm next door to mine. He spent many hours listening to myself and his Dad argue everything from politics to communism, and every topic under the sun in the back seat of my pick up going back and forth to jobs. His Dad was a dyed in the wool English Socialist. His Mom was also a very lovely good hearted woman who was raised the same in Jolly Old England. Sometimes Redneck Philosophy works. I told him what he was learning in school was wrong and to think for himself and question everything. Glad to see he finally broke the mold. I am proud of you John.

  5. Wrecking the Federation to Save the Planet

As McAdam, the lead lawyer for Saskatchewan, put it: “You don’t need to destroy the federation to save the planet.” It is not an exaggeration to portray the carbon tax reference as an ideological contest between unrestrained progressivism and central government planning versus conservatism and respect for established organizing principles of government. The federal government has taken the view that it may do whatever it wants in the service of international goals, and Saskatchewan has taken a stand for the ongoing role of the agreed constitutional order in determining which governments make which decisions.

    1. The worm has turned,, On the FOX (5 ladies) this morning the token Marie made a climate change claim and everyone laughed.. She almost cried…. Ridicule works!

BTW: The worst Fox Show is those Five ladies trying to make sense of Simple Things

Another Political Poll Wrong! BeBe wins

  6. https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/did-justin-trudeau-break-the-law-by-kicking-jody-wilson-raybould-and-jane-philpott-out-of-caucus

This item, in the continuing soap opera that is our government, was featured on CTV News tonight. La Trudeau said that he had the support of caucus to oust Philpott and JWR. In actuality they had not taken a real vote on it. This is against the law. If it is up to The Speaker, Philpott is barking up the wrong tree. He’s a Liberal. The PM lives in his own little world – that of a Dictator.

Note: Read Christie Blatchford’s article in the link as well, she questions why they, Philpott and JWR, would want to go back to the Liberals now.

My take is that with less power and less money it sucks when no one says hello to you in the hall.

Remember the Liberals are thugs. Blatchford has a good point there.

    1. Disgusting…Not one of those WANKERS in the Resaurant did/said Squat while the guy was getting his ass handed to him…but the second he defends himself via the 2nd – they all loose their Shit.

Betting the Restaurant was full of “FemiNazi’s, BLM, & assorted Progressives”..??

      Chicago ya say eh.?
      Uhuh.

    2. Why you never ever surrender the Right To Self Defense and the Right To Own Firearms. The Right exists in Canada even to this day and was conferred by the Magna Carta which predates the 2nd Amendment. In 2004 the SCOC affirmed this Right via the Magna Carta in Regina vs Kerr. They even referenced the Magna Carta in their decision. The Media never commented on this far reaching ruling on the Right to Self Defense and even threw out the charge on an illegal concealed weapon which was used in the defense. The 2nd Amendment grew out of the Magna Carta.

    3. lucky for the attackers it wasnt me they went after.
did I ever tell ya about my invention ‘hb pushup’? stand feet apart, arms in pushup position. you know, kinda like cross section

also, I’da shot the little shyts.

      I wonder if *other* weapons are politically correct . . . . .

    1. A number of years ago, John Batchelor interviewed the author of a book about the Doolittle raid. Once in a while, it reappears in the RSS feed of his archived programs. It runs for more than an hour, but it’s worth listening to.

When Doolittle himself died some 40 years ago, the CBC Radio program As It Happens interviewed someone who was either an author of a book about the raid or an historian. The closing comments were rather interesting. The interviewee mentioned that the surviving participants had periodic reunions and, at one of them, they had such a good time, they tore the place apart.

An employee at the hotel in question notified the manager, who took the matter in stride. The manager said that the Raiders were heroes and that they had endured circumstances that few people could imagine. He was willing to let the men have their fun and the hotel picked up the bill for the damage.

      1. How interesting. These WW II veterans earned respect wherever they went. They lived to work hard and play hard. These were people who were very very brave.

It is amazing to learn the fact that they were not “scared.” They had no time to think about that. They accepted their fate,
come- what- may. They were young, full of ‘spit and vinegar’, as they say, and they saw each through the most exhilarating time of their lives. The adrenalin must have been pumping hard – and in this state of being in a heightened sense of awareness, they must have have felt truly alive.

My study of the Doolittle Raiders has just begun, that is, I need a refresher. There are more videos online that I’ve never seen. The old black and white clips are just phenomenal. Here is one of Doolittle himself:

        https://youtu.be/nlFAk0NAJko

Richard Cole was proud to be with Doolittle as his co-pilot – and, to think, this happened because the guy that was supposed to be with him, wasn’t able to make it, because at the last minute, he got sick.

Can you just imagine the life Cole had – a life that lasted 103 years! That, in itself, is also amazing!

        1. My cousin who was 16 at the time left Edmonton during the WW2 and crossed the border into Montana and joined the 1st Special Forces, The Devil’s Brigade. He lied about his age, his nickname was “Tiny”. He was in North Arica, Italy and D-Day. They parachuted in behind the lines on D Day and fought until there not enough men left standing to Muster. They were then rolled into Parachute Regiments to finish the War. He was wounded several times and finished as a 1st Sgt. He then joined the Canadian Black Watch and was Regimental Sgt. Major of The Canadian Black Watch and fought again all through Korea. The Canadian Government refused to recognize the Canadians who served in the 1st Special Forces although it was a joint Canadian/US Unit created by Canada and the US. They were the first followed by the current Special Forces Units of today. These guys were very special men. True Warriors.

          1. Your cousin is famous for having been in the Devil’s Brigade. I understand that there were 600 Canadians in that brigade. He has had an impressive career and is one of those brave men. He must have had stories to share!

Within the last couple of years I saw the movie,
“The Devil’s Brigade” that was released in 1968 and was truly moved. It featured some of Hollywood’s best: William Holden, Cliff Robertson, Vince Edwards, Michael Rennie, Richard Dawson, Carroll O’Connor, Dana Andrews and many many more.

Movies about HISTORICAL events are a passion for me as well as books about the Holocaust, which I have been occasionally reading over the last 35 ish years.

(I recently lost and then thankfully regained the Turner Classic Movie Channel due to bundle changes within my Cable TV Package. They feature many movies like the aforementioned.)

        2. A number of years ago, I watched a documentary series about submarines on the now-defunct ACCESS channel. In one installment, a number of American WW II veterans were interviewed. One of them made the comment, with a bit of a smirk on his face, that they were able to accomplish what they did because they were too young to know that they, apparently, weren’t supposed to do all that.

As for Doolittle himself, he had established his reputation with the American public through his pre-war accomplishments in aviation. He was a daredevil, but he didn’t take on any undue risks.

The details of the raid were, of course, kept secret for some time afterward. Reporters asked FDR questions about how it was carried out, to which he evasively replied that the planes took off from a secret base in Shangri-La. It was because of that comment that an aircraft carrier built towards the end of WW II was commissioned as the U. S. S. Shangri-La.

          1. You’re welcome.

The movie shows up on TCM once in a while. Since the channel devotes several days to military-related films over the Memorial Day weekend each May, it might be part of next month’s lineup.

One interesting tidbit about the movie. One scene shows a B-25 flying over a metropolitan area with a column of smoke in the background. That, of course, was meant to portray it being over a Japanese city.

But that depiction wasn’t entirely Hollywood magic. The plane was flying over the Los Angeles area during filming and, at the same time, there happened to be a fire at a local oil refinery, which the producers included in the final edition of the movie. I’m sure that decision helped TSOT win its Oscar for special effects.

As well, the movie includes actual film footage shot during the start of the mission as the planes were taking off from the deck of the Hornet.

    2. RIP Richard.
…a True Hero at a time when America REALLY needed some.

Most had to know that it was a 99% chance of being a 1 Way mission for many…that took Courage – Bagfulls of it.!!

One of the Great Stories of our time.
      Thanx for posting Nancy.

      1. One story I heard about the raid was that once the planes and aircrews were on board the Hornet, word eventually got round to the sailors as to what the mission actually was. Some of them wanted to change places with the fliers by offering them money.

The best Hollywood account of the mission is, of course, Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo with Spencer Tracy and Van Johnson. However, Hollywood, never knowing when to leave well enough alone, tried again with that dreadful movie from about 20 years ago Pearl Harbour. (Yuck!)

    3. RIP Richard Cole.

His generation’s grandchildren are throwing his generation’s sacrifices away for what his generation fought against.

  7. City Hall won’t cut their spending. They will be increasing taxes for Calgary homeowners. We must now pick up the slack for the lost revenue due to businesses that have closed their doors in downtown YYC. I think they thought that the windfall that was the oil patch would never end.

They think we should have a new mega hockey arena though for the millionaire Flames to luxuriate in. Without mega bucks corporations who do they think will pay for Season’s tickets? They will have to worry about Food Banks, more likely, instead. The Malls are empty of people, even traffic is somewhat reduced.

We need new government. Fast. Pro-business- preferably.

    1. That Fat POS Nenshi has, since he was initially elected, raised Calgary Home property taxes by 113%. That in what..8 years.??

Said same Fat POS is a Muslim Brotherhood Operative (IMO), I note the ZERO Repsonse at any time after the Savage Beating of an Israeli Family by some 100 HAMAS Supporters – Aug 2014 downtwon Calgary.

As Mayor, one would expect a HUGE denuciation of this kind of thing…no? and Made sure the SCUM BAG perps were apprehended..?? no.? yea…in a Normal world, one would think so.

Fact is No police Ever showed up, no Announcement from the Mayors office – NOTHING. It took Ezra Levant to bring video to Calgary Police and they reluctantly went after & Charged the ScumBags. ZERO MEDIA Reportage of this whatsoever…that I saw.

Just another Globalist Fkn Muslim POS. After PM dipshit, and the Northern Communist, I despise this one about as much. That covers all 3 levels of Govt…

  8. Another Comrade Notley success story. The CBC reported yesterday that a new report states that 23% of oil field workers will be laid off in 2019. The Tide Foundation personnel Notley hired to oversee the oil patch must be happy.

    1. That’s an important post.
Trying to frame secularism as racism or the made-up “Islamophobia” is shameful and a threat to individual liberty. Every group that seeks special treatment has an agenda. Moslem activists seek power and control over everyone. They have an ever-growing flock of angry, entitled, misogynistic and self-loathing people.
Its ironic that it may take the Nation of Quebec to save the ROC from its desire to forfeit its freedom by empowering people brainwashed by a death cult.

  9. Why is the media not talking about this revolution. This year 2019 Basel 3 will be in force. What does that mean. It will change the world. Basel 3 means that the Zurich Gnomes under BIS or Bank of International Settlement rules will revalue physical gold from a Tier 3 asset to a Tier 1 asset. This means a doubling in the value of physical gold. Under Tier 3 status physical gold was only allowed to be valued at 50% of its value on the books of Central Banks. Gold will now be valued at 100% again. This has not changed since 1971 when Nixon cut the US Dollar loose from the Gold Standard. It means that Gold, Physical Gold is real money again as far as Central Banks are concerned. It means Gold will be held once again as a hedge against Fiat currency by Central Banks. Now I have to ask what did Chretien and Martin do with the Peoples of Canada 1000 Metric Tonnes of Strategic Gold Reserves? The People have been fleeced again. Canada is going to get a shellacking this year, rig for stormy weather. This is a huge story and no one is talking about the ramifications.

  10. In spite of overwhelming propaganda against him by the globalist press, and plots by the Israel branch of the Deep State against the prime minister of the Jewish state, the Jewish people once again defied their enemies by, if present trends continue, giving Benjamin Netanyahu a mandate to form a government a record fifth term as prime minister of Israel.

Netanyahu had the presence of mind to hand out body cameras to volunteers willing to report fraud on behalf of left-wing and Arab parties.

Once again the globalists and anti-Semites are inconsolable. Once again Israel will have a government devoted to securing the prosperity—not just the survival of the Jewish people and a future for Israel’s children.

The Lord bless and keep Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu.

May he drive Amalek and the globalists from His sight, from Jerusalem to the world’s end.

“Thank goodness there are good people like this here organizing some relief, which I’m very grateful for,” Laval resident Margaret McCormick told CBC News on Tuesday evening. “I’m just enjoying being able to warm up.”
Its nice that there are good people. But what if next time they need help as well?
What if too many people need help? For too long?
A failure to plan is a plan to fail.

  12. It use useful to look at the daily corporate hit pieces, by our Toronto-based media cartel, in their valiant effort to skew the Alberta election toward their favourite daughter, NDP Leader Rachel Notley.

Example #1: CBC News has run a consistent campaign to get the NDP government re-elected, and today the Ceeb’s web page features a hit piece against Rebel Media, highlighting the fact that Ezra Levant and company dislike Notley:
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/rebel-stop-notley-lawn-signs-1.5091046

i.e., it is the Ceeb’s contention that the Rebel’s “Stop Notley” signs violate the Alberta Election Act — or at least the dishonest web page article makes it seem that way. And CBC News interviews one Kuman Jain, who — surprise! surprise! — is righteously indignant that Rebel Media would go so low as to distribute lawn signs negatively predisposed against the Notley government. Ezra Levant is astute enough to design the signs to plug a book by Rebel staffer Sheila Gunn Reid — and book advertisements make such ventures exempt from the Alberta Elections Act — but, oh, never mind. CBC News must leap to the defence of the beleaguered NDP campaign.

Example #2: Like CBC News, the Globe and Mail has a keen interest in furthering the destruction of the Alberta energy economy — and promote the Alberta NDP — and today the pro-corruption newspaper features a hit piece attacking Kenney for claiming (horrors!) that Alberta is “under siege”:
    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/alberta/article-jason-kenney-says-alberta-is-under-siege-but-will-voters-believe-he/

Needless to say — according to the Globe writer — the very idea that the province’s energy-based economy is in some way “under siege” MUST Be in the mind of the nefarious Jason Kenney. As the article says, the Globe and Mail firmly believes that Alberta voters will soundly reject this notion that the province is under siege. Sure, the NDP British Columbia government is stopping the development of pipelines, and sure the federal Liberal government, through Bill C-69, is keen to stop any further large energy investment. And it is true that billionaire U.S. foundations continue to fund radical environmental opposition to pipelines, both in the U.S. and in Canada. But Jason Kenney is wrong — the Globe says he is wrong! — to claim that the Alberta economy is somehow threatened. The current economic recession, with 105,000 oil and gas workers out of work, and the huge office slump in downtown Calgary, are a figment of somebody’s imagination. The Globe and Mail knows better.

Note the unflattering black-and-white picture of Mr. Kenney in the Globe article. Rachel Notley gets colour pics; Jason Kenney gets black-and-white pics. The Globe, continuing the tradition of negative ads, knows how to show pictures to further the NDP cause.

    1. Ezra Levant is a pure genius with his orange “Stop Notley” lawn signs advertising a book of the same name. It was a reply to the Communist leaning Alberta Election Commissioner (Commissar?) for fining The Rebel Media $5,000 for being an unregistered political party. The Election Commissar prohibited half the Alberta Party from running and fined half the Conservatives but has ignored the Bolsheviks. Thank goodness the courts are reversing most of his fascist decrees. He should be first on Kenney’s firing list.

  13. Rachel Notley in Washington DC ‘buying social license’.
    ‘”did not promote future pipelines’
“she’ll avoid pointing fingers” at the other provinces and states who are dead set against pipelines.
And where did that get you Big Girl?

    https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/in-u-s-visit-notley-begins-reputation-rehab-effort-for-oilsands-1.2879871

Too bad she wasted 4 yrs of AB’s time rehabbing us Albertans.
She totally misjudged what the current state of the economy was in 2015 AB and refused to meet us deplorables and embarrassing cousins in the street, who could tell her what was wrong. Unlike the affable Ralph Klein.
She arrogantly dropped a big steaming pile called Bill C6 on the hard working agriculture community without notice.
Did she learn anything in 4 yrs? NO
She just dropped another big steaming pile of driver training on Albertan industry with little notice.
Notley’s office, teeming with out of province NDP advisors and few if any business people, did not have a clue of how much is involved in driver training.

Our kids will be paying $billions in debt payments forever for this idiotic excursion into latte swilling socialism.

    Vote for the West.

    1. Alberta has a bitch of a time finding truckers. Requiring 100 hours of training is going to make it impossible. Interestingly enough, drivers from India can apply for and receive a license without any local training. Far out.

    2. It doesn’t take a political scientist to come to the conclusion that Alberta’s disastrous experiment with the putrid morass of socialism was the result of vote splitting. I didn’t realize the effect that vote splitting had on the 2015 election until I took a riding by riding look at the results. Based on the perfectly logical assumption that PC voters would have voted Wildrose if the PC option wasn’t available and vice versa, the results were amazing. An astounding 36 seats that were won by the NDP would have went to the non-socialist party, the vast majority by enormous margins. Now I realize that the media is doing its utmost to portray Jason Kenney as the reincarnation of Reinhard Heydrich but will it work? Don’t forget that the media made a concerted effort in 2015 to characterize the Wildrose Party as being composed of bible-thumping, gun-toting redneck Neanderthals yet Wildrose still managed 24.22% of the popular vote so I don’t think Albertans are overly swayed by media histrionics. One must also take into account the number of voters who previously supported the NDP but, after Notley’s abysmal performance over the last four years, will switch their votes to UCP, It appears to be a landslide victory for UCP barring a video of Kenney setting an orphanage on fire or barbecuing kittens.

      1. Media except for two persons totally ignores NDP getting funding and election support from:
        – Lead Now and allied groups
        – Tides foundation and anti oil supporters

These groups want Alberta oil land locked, and eventually the oilsands shut in.

Notley is playing a delay game on the one remaining pipeline project that hasn’t been cancelled. Many of the anti oil supporters have been appointed to positions of power in the government and regulatory agencies.

Notley’s next steps if she is re-elected?
        a) sit back and watch BC appeal the last court case to Supreme Court. This will restart the entire consultation process with a new definition of consultation.
        b) sit back and watch eleven more lawsuits go through the courts
        c) ban hydraulic fracturing

  14. Climate porn fails to titillate

In the Toronto Sun Lorrie Goldstein says “climate porn” doesn’t work. Which seems especially pertinent in Ottawa where a report that Canada is warming at twice the global rate coincided with a modern record for consecutive days with snow cover followed by more snow. Then there’s the great polar bear die-off including the infamous “This is the face of climate change” misrepresentation which our environment minister eagerly retweeted (from Beijing). But a major problem is that it’s either false or overhyped, like a story “Swift action needed to protect infrastructure against rising seas, experts say” that actually says we might need to build two- or three-foot walls in a few places by 2100 unless we panic and shut down our economy instead.

    https://climatediscussionnexus.com/2019/04/10/climate-porn-fails-to-titillate/

    1. “omnibus budget bill.”

I thought only the evil Harper passed omnibus bills? Do you mean Turdeau regularly uses omnibus bills? Say it ain’t so.

  15. ‘Flight shame’ has Swedes rethinking air travel.

    https://news.yahoo.com/flight-shame-swedes-rethinking-air-travel-032414475.html

Here’s the part that struck me…

“Swedes’ concerns rely on solid data: the Swedish Meteorological Institute said last week that the average annual temperature was rising twice as fast in the country as the global average.”

Sound familiar to anyone else? So, if BOTH Canada and Sweden’s temperatures are rising twice as fast as the “global average”, maybe they would be so kind to inform us of which countries aren’t rising at all. Or maybe the word “average” just has a different meaning to Climate Zealots… you know…. just like the words “pollution”, “settled” or “proof”.

Lying, fraudulent, sacs-o-shit, the lot of them.

    1. Tripped over some revealing details at Steyn’s. .
      https://www.steynonline.com/8667/tinker-tailor-clapper-carter-downer-halper-spy

This went beyond spying. They went out of their way to set up Trump people in order to entrap them.

British Intelligence were in on it. It’s one thing for 5 eyes partners to spy for each other. It’s another thing for a foreign intelligence service to play at entrapment for the purpose of deposing a president.

I can’t see British Intelligence playing at entrapment on Obama’s orders.

      1. no one should EVER trust ANY brit spying activity since the golden age of philby, burgess, et al.

  16. Those Polls.
The deliberate production of deceptive polls is an absolute necessity,if those participating intend voter fraud.
You have to plant ,in the voters minds, the possibility that the obvious losers can actually win.
Before you count the votes of the dead, the votes of the “vouched” and the votes from the incredibly expanding native reserve.
And I see the Never Done Paying, for Alberta, have set a whole bunch of devices for fraud in motion.
    And why not?
For our progressive comrades consider us too stupid to be allowed a say in any aspect of our lives and their partners in the USA just pulled off a huge “success” in the 2018 elections.
Imagine their horror,if they fail to cling to power and purse, they will have to get a job…outside government.

    1. Spying did occur by the Obama deep State.. John Brennan better pack his tooth brush….Unmasking by the female mafia, and the FBI lovers. Those who could Smell the Walmart deplorables… ..Yes! Susan & Page you are in Kansas..Welcome to Leavenworth.

Note: The Group that insist that Russia interfered in the 2016 election are ALL criminal suspects. Who would have thought?

  17. “They that sow the wind, shall reap the whirlwind” The DeMarxists can’t say they weren’t warned about their “investigations.”
AG Barr is set to spring the trap. His Congressional testimony reduced the lefty loonies to questions about health care costs.
Meanwhile Candace Owen bitch slaps Reps Nadler and Lieu. Check that one out for high entertainment and an impressive performance.

This Russian collusion hoax was deep state Dem projection of their misdeeds, trying to nail Trump with specious “evidence.”

Hillary was purported to have said they were all going to jail if Trump got elected. That may turn out to be the only accurate prediction the DeMarxists made, from Trump induced war and recession and of course their earth has a fever tax scam.

Let the games begin. I predict a sh*t-storm is headed the DeMarxists’ way that even the mediocracy and RINOs can’t stop.

  18. It will be quite a spectacle to see the spotlight turned on the Obama-Clinton conspiracies. However, it would also make it inevitable that the Democrats would turn to some so-called “uninvolved” outsider like Bernie Sanders or Beto as their candidate, so it remains to be seen whether the swing voters will flock to that new shiny pony instead of doing the logical thing and returning Trump in a landslide.

    1. Unfortunately Alberta doen’t sell their trees below market value. The big loggers are required to reforest, build all their own roads and bridges, and the trees are toothpicks requiring a lot of work for little lumber. The problem for the Americans is that the Canadian industry is so much more efficient. All they are doing is increasing the prices of American houses while the imports continue with little benefit to American producers. Lower cost imports are even coming from Russia.

      1. So far as this case goes, they found that the cheaper than market stumpage rates paid by loggers for trees destined for export was an impermissible subsidy. ( the province charges a higher rate if the trees are for lumber that will be sold in Canada only). They sided with the Americans on the merits. Another win for Team Trudles.

Curiously, Chrystia Freelance did not tweet about their famous victory.

  19. So why has Alberta’s election garnered so much attention, when, say, New Brunswick’s does not? Partly because Alberta is a larger player in the national economy, but also because Kenney has the potential to start fighting with Central Canada over….well, topics with which you are all familiar.
The MSM is aware that “the Approved Path” we are on risks being upset, so they are taking great pains to paint Kenney as the Evil Trump North even BEFORE he wins, so the groundwork will be laid to demonize his policies and positions AFTER he wins. (Lord, I sure hope that last part is right! )

    1. PEI is having a referendum on a mixed-member proportional representation electoral system. Designed, naturally, to make sure no patriotic conservative party ever takes power there.

  20. Well gee whiz. Science now proves that AWG and Global Warming is a HOAX. This should be read into the record and thrown up in every MP’s face and read out at all Political Meetings and hand delivered to all Greasy Politician’s and their Greasy Slime Ball Leaders. Millions of years before Arnold Bought a Hummer CO2 was as high as today and higher, it was 7 plus degrees hotter and there was almost no ice cap in Antarctica and none in the Arctic. So how was the Billions of years old earth climate cycle controlled by man. Speak up now, I can’t hear you. Lying Bastard’s.
    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/04/09/nolte-scientists-prove-man-made-global-warming-is-a-hoax/

    1. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: This AGW BULLSHIT is going to set legitimate environmentalism back by at least a generation, maybe more.

  21. Thought I might vote in the advanced poll. Turned out the voting station is 100 miles away! ha

    1. If you can make it to any poll in Alberta to advance vote, you can get a ballot to vote for your own constituency.

      1. Scar – took a look at the advance poll locations shown in Calgary. In the northwest, very heavily concentrated at SAIT, U of C, and Foothills Hospital. Downtown, it’s the Kirby Centre, Holy Cross Centre, City Hall. Mount Royal hosts one. Even the airport has one at the arrivals level. And, despite various pronouncements, not all advance polls are open for the full five days. Interesting choice of localities in terms of access by the general public.

  22. FYI, people who incessantly warn about the dangers of “vote splitting”; all they care about is control.

“You don’t NEED 2 non-socialist parties to vote for”… sound familiar?
Just statists with a different name.

    1. That’s a great interview. Every one should watch it. Discussions about climate change are most often about politics. This interview focuses on the science. It’s refreshing.

    1. In the 1760s 25,000 people left Hessen, Germany for the banks of the Volga River. Hundreds, maybe a thousand, were captured as slaves and sold into the slave markets of central or southern Asia. It is interesting that in Turkey most of the population is genetically Greekish or Armenianish as opposed to Central Asianish like the original Turks. Central Asian Turks look a lot like Chinese. Hundreds of years of discrimination and brutality convinced these people to adopt Islam and the Turkish language. I also suspect a lot of 2nd 3rd and 4th wives were kidnapped from Christian families.

  23. a delightful launch to Susan Crockford’s new book in Calgary. I met Dr. Crockford and got two copies of “The Polar Bear Catastrophe That Never Happened”, met Dr. Willie Soon, and also frequent Wattsupwiththat.com commenter and fellow engineer Allan MacRae. Alas, the hour flew by.

I only wish I had known in advance about Drs. Soon and Crockford speaking tonight. That would have been wonderful.
