40 Replies to “The Libranos: SNC Lavalin”

  1. Browbeating an Attorney General 20 times and firing them when they wouldn’t cooperate doesn’t sound like political interference – at least not to a Liberal.

    1. I’m not on the liberal side but it was not 20 times and also over a period of 4 months plus.

Frankly, I ask why Canadian laws on corruption apply to shitholes foreign coun tries, such as Libya, where “corruption” IS the law.

What is objectiobale about this affair is the liberal assumption of their divine right to rule.

  2. I think if you get kicked out of the OECD, you are officially in a Banana Republic.
It is a little bit cold for growing bananas on the Prairies.

      1. This one?

This has been decades in the making.

Now it is becoming clear hopefully to more Canadians that supporting/excusing SNC-Lavalin’s vile conduct both overseas and at home degrades our nation’s reputation in the world.

        A maple syrup republic.

And for every one of the alleged 9,000 jobs that are at stake should a stake be driven through the black heart of SNC-Lavalin how many more jobs and opportunities will be lost if the LPC continues to conspire with SNC-Lavalin in avoiding justice and ultimately succeeds in doing so?”

  3. “The OECD Working Group on Bribery is encouraged by these processes, and notes that the Canadian authorities stress that they are transparent and independent.” I trust someone will tell Daisy that the Justice Committee (at 5 Liberals/4 otherwise) is something less than independent…

    1. Exactly. There will obfuscation and stonewalling continuously, and apparently nothing to stand in their way until an election that might reverse that.

  4. It’s well worth remembering that Greece and Mexico are OECD members.

So don’t get too enthused about that organization’s perspective on bribery and corruption or the possibility of Canada being turfed from it.

    1. “OECD will follow Canadian proceedings”

Yes. Ponder that the OECD would not exist if it weren’t a toady of the planned One World Government.
Zoolander’s Daddy was a charter member of the Club of Rome and a firstie signatory of the Humanist Manifesto II.

  5. Read the article. The OECD has sent a letter to Canadian authorities to advise then as to next steps. Canada is a signatory to this treaty and is legally bound. Ha Ha Ha. Messed with the ChiComs and Trump. And right away the chickens are coming home to roost. Probably just coincidence. Just saying.

    1. Eff international treaties. Their observance is optional. Canadian laws do not apply outside of Canada and non-Canadian “laws” do not apply inside Canada.

Now, SNC bribing Canadians in Canada is another matter. I don’t give a toss about shithole countries. Losing patience here over all the BS aznd moral grandsanding.

How about concern for the 100,000s of jobs lost due to your effing policies, Trudeau? And where’s the irate tirade from Andy 2% on this? Oh, don’t want to threaten the Quebec vote do we Andy?

As you may determine, I am a bit PO’d by this.

What is revealing, and should be accutely embarassing to the Liberals, is how it reveals Sock Puppet boy to be absolutely useless, ineffective and pathetic wothout his puppet-master.

      1. “I don’t give a toss about shithole countries.”

        Neither do I.
Notwithstanding the fact that I’m enjoying watching the little prince eat a shitburger, I’ve always taken a dim view of countries who presume that they somehow are entitled to enforce their laws outside of their territorial boundaries. It’s NONE of Canada’s business what I do when I’m not in Canada.

        1. Except, Edward, there are too many Canadians who agree with you UNTIL they transgress the laws of the country in which they are sojourning and then whine for Canada to get them out of trouble.

        2. I guess Edward and Robert would gladly well back the ISIS brides and their ISIS husbands, none of your affair what they did over there? Welcome back! Do you have old Omar bunking at your place? Go to Thailand for some fun?

Reality is, if you are a Canadian or Canadian corporation and want to go around the world conducting crimes (including awful ones that SNC is associated with), be prepared to be punished. If you want to cut all ties with Canada and hang your shingle in Benghazi a become a criminal, go ahead, Canada won’t prosecute you.

The purpose of Canada is not to serve as a base for foreign criminal enterprises and conduct.

  6. “swiftly” ????? I think the term was begrudgingly.

In actual fact, the “ethics” commissioner will issue a report in January 2020 (on a Friday) announcing the current PM, Dear Leader, Glorious Party Secretary, Supreme Astronaut and Golden Globe Winner, Justin Trudeau, will receive a $100 fine. The Justice Committee, will have found no wrong doing (this will be announced prior to October, After all, the majority on the committee could find nothing wrong)

February 2020 will find the first convention in Red Deer, Alberta to bring together all like minded and reasonable people to discuss the move to create a new and independent Dominion on the North American continent…inshallah.

  7. I read an article today that stated SNC was accused of bribing Libyan official $48 million for a contract they had with Libya for $59 million.

THIS perhaps is why so many Quebec companies have to go demanding bailouts from le taxpayer du the rest of Canada.
In view of the fact that bribery is a way of life in all third world countries and done more discretely in first world countries, what in hell we we thinking enacting laws like this ? Who tf was in charge,Pollyanna?

  8. Hey, it would be nice to see some digging into Kevin Lynch. He met last fall as Board Chair of SNC Lavalin, apparently frustrated about the stall in getting the deferred shite in place. Remember that old Kevin also was a Privy kind of guy, and a DM of Finance, Infrastructure, then was with BMO, and also on an expert committee with the OECD on digitizations, etc. In short, this 33 year bureaucrat is all over the associational map, eh, wot?

  9. I’ve always thought of Quebec as more resembling a gigantic Indian Reserve rather than a province. Some of the similarities include: corruption at the top, ethnic ghetto, dependency on taxes from people outside of the jurisdiction, pandered to by the federal government, standard playbook of mining “guilt” to sustain and protect the status quo……

I wonder if the Spawn will show as much fealty to this international organization as he does for the UN on immigration for example.

  10. I do not believe anything will come of this sordid affair as too much of media and bureaucracy are part and parcel of the Liberal Party of Canada. I am too cynical after seeing decades of Liberal malfeasance getting free passes.

Like someone said on another thread, paraphrased, I will believe that there will be some justice when someone is led off in handcuffs.

  11. Hmmm You don’t see the forest because of the trees… If Jody doesn’t condone bribery by SNC … What does that mean about foreign bribery by Tides & George Soros… It is illegal (under USA law) to give, or take a bribe anywhere in the World… Canada has a different opinion and judicial standard… Time to stand up for the Truth….. The Canadian Government Policies destroyed their own NORTEL Corporation, who had an exceptional competitive product, but was dragged down by stupid fools who think the world kisses their Canadian butts….

Jody has intelligence & understands what is the Truth.. It is those attributes that will solve the out of control Indian Business in Canada…. Leadership has consequences, not all good…

Go get them Jody!. BTW: I don’t agree with the existing Indian Agenda…

  12. Q’bec is possibly the most corrupt jurisdiction in Americas, Venezuela is a close second.

  13. The one benefit of this scandal is the civil war it has generated between liberals.
    Everything else is coincidental.

  14. I read a number of people above saying that bribery is a “way of life” of these nations that SNC Lavalin has been bribing.
Fact is: we in Canada have a Judeo/Christian view of life and ethics. We called bribery, kickbacks, and corruption VICE because we understand something called virtue. These “shithole” countries have no virtue. Vice is their CULTURE. Let that sink in.
    Bribery is their CULTURE.

And here we have the government of nearly every Western nation destroying their own culture by
importing huge numbers of people whose CULTURE is CORRUPT.

Who is so stupid as to be surprised that importing these people from these countries and doing business with these countries is corrupting our country?
And YES the French are CORRUPT. Why do you think the French have the Napoleonic Code?
The French are corrupt to the core of their culture.

    1. “We called bribery, kickbacks, and corruption VICE because we understand something called virtue. These “shithole” countries have no virtue.”

So you have a monopoly on virtue and they have a monopoly on vice?

      Matt.7
[1] Judge not, that ye be not judged.
[2] For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
      Bible, King James Version

      1. John 8:32-36
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

  15. What if the OECD isn’t monitoring BECAUSE they think the obvious corruption, bribes and backroom collusion is wrong? What if the OECD members is more interested in how to avoid similar toxic accusations against the ruling party within their own Gov’ts? Or maybe worse yet to actually assist their besieged globalist maple syrup republic partner with observers hidden in plain sight? I know it’s crazy conspiratorial nonsense but their HQ is in France. Motives have become impossible to know or trust.

  16. I think the international olympic committee would be more trustworthy to investigate corruption.

    1. Joe the Albertan, great find. Thanks for posting.

I didn’t know Frank Iacobucci is on the board of Torstar. That explains a few things. Perhaps Telford has used Iacobucci to help line up friendly columnists?

      1. Was this the ‘retired supreme court justice’ that everyone had in mind when pressuring JWR to consult with a retired supreme court justice.

    2. The first question: Is the Justin Trudeau Liberal government, in effect, a branch of SNC-Lavalin ?

Second question: Having former Supreme, now SNC in-house attorney, a “political grandmaster” testify and be cross-examined, under oath by Marie Henein ? Now that would be as highly subscribed pay-per-view as any U.F.C. mixed-martial arts championship.

      1. I got HUGE respect for Ms Henein.
brilliant brilliant brilliant lawyer; ‘the grace of a ballerina and the eye of a cobra’
MY kind of woman, smart and the heart of a lioness protecting her ‘cubs’.

  17. the TURDoo talks about ‘erosion’ of trust.
called the local LIEberal mp on it, likened it to calling Mt St Helens an ‘erosion’ incident.
likened it to Krakatoa being a periodic ‘adjustment’ of the ocean floor.
then asked how the whisper campaign is going.

TURD is the personification of denial.
clueless clueless clueless to the optics among other things, aka he is SO inept, cant even figure out his words just[in] pile higher and wider like the sewage off New Yawk:
    https://www.wnycstudios.org/story/sludge-bottom-sea
note the honourable mention of the ‘EPA’ (the ‘P’ stands for poop, thus the TURDoo reference . . . . )
