  1. The democrats will work real hard making themselves look like fools. The GOP has the senate and the President can veto just about anything that can make it through the senate. Look for a couple of years of democrat obstruction. Remember, Obama was not the only president to use EOs to force his agenda.

  2. Nancy Pelosi for speaker? This is the best the Democrats can offer?
It will be a great victory for politicians with dementia.

    1. – Our very own “San Fran Nan”? The dear model of understatement and sagacity that she’s always been known to be, by so many people?

Nancy Pelosi – “What we’re trying to do is save the world from the Republican budget. We’re trying to save life on this planet as we know it today.”

      http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/pelosis-reactionary-liberalism_577709.html (thru SDA)

      – And wasn’t she Obamacare’s “We had to pass it, to see what’s in it”?

      1. She promised (again) to be the most transparent HOUSE ever in the history of American HOUSES. Sorry … I forgot the time she revealed Peter Strozk, Lisa Page, and the entire FBI working group conspiracy against President Trump (and hence the VOTES of half the nation). I must have missed that episode of her … “transparency”

  3. “Sober thoughts” aka biased arguments that don’t challenge my worldview. Ignorance is bliss in the echo chamber.

      1. So you’re saying that crap reminds President Trump of Jeff Sessions? Possible, but not very nice of you. You’re just lucky that Jeff Sessions is only 1/1048th black (a la Fauxcahontas) or you’d be a racist too.

  4. Trump is going to leverage their TDS.
Its a given they are going to make Pelosi speaker and anyone in Democrat ranks that feels otherwise will be Clintonized.
Trump announces that he thinks she should be speaker.
This immediately causes a conflict in the minds of the “resistance” as their response to any action by Trump is to start protesting in the streets.
Now to maintain their logic, they must oppose Pelosi for speaker but by doing so go against the party establishment.
The end result is they end up agreeing with Trump or they throw Pelosi under the bus to maintain their cognitive dissonance.
    Winning

    1. Trump knows that Pelosi’s selection as Speaker will split the Dems between the old guard and the Marxists.

That was a sweet move, along with moving Sessions out and Whitaker in as AG.

Oh, and flaming Acosta big time, surrendering his WH hard pass to the Secret Service. That was a big shot across the bow.

Add that to the his warning to uppity Congresspeople he has the Senate, various IGs and the Justice Dept, along with actual evidence of crimes to investigate.

Sorry about that people thing above; I couldn’t resist.

  5. Positive thoughts are conducive to better health and Scott makes a pertinent point about the Clinton years. A strong but positive opposition to Clinton actually made for some good government during those years.
Entitlement spending and deficits are also a couple of issues that will eventually need to be addressed.

    1. Neither party in Washington is even remotely serious about addressing entitlement spending. Nor is Trump himself, for that matter. They’ve been kicking the can down the road since at least the Clinton years and have no intention of stopping.

  6. I respectfully disagree with Scott Adams about his assertion that the Democrats having some power now will start exhibiting a more reasonable tone and attitude. There is no middle ground with the progressive Dem extremists that run their party. Their world is binary not analog so Dems will continue to tirelessly obstruct and undermine until they achieve victory. Their number one goal is to demolish old America and replace it with one party rule thus removing the biggest obstacle to global no-borders governance. Mr. Adams has an old man’s hope that common sense will prevail but history shows over and over that existential ideological struggles often results in horrible conflagrations of humanity. This is what I believe will happen if the Left gains a firm hold again and old America is forcibly shredded from existence. There is no middle ground in a war.

    1. I feel that Mr. Adams has taken an overly optimistic view of what transpired on Nov. 6. Given the Democrats’ record of unacceptable behavior and the infestation of extremists that foul the party, I can’t see things changing too much. The only positive result of the election is that maybe, just maybe, those infected with TDS will go into remission and the rent-a-mobs will be put on a leash. It’s a sad state of affairs when the results of an election can be considered acceptable simply because the sore losers will be placated to the point where acts of anarchy and stupidity will be somewhat abated. The whole thing sort of reminds me of a hockey game where the losers don’t get too upset because if the game had gone the other way, a bench-clearing brawl would have ensued.

    2. Fascists cannot abide with free speech. Once they have become shrill I don’t think that they will be able to stand down. Hence, Antifa, the modern fascists, will not change their methods. They will double down until they’re put down. Ignoring them is like ignoring a foot fungus, it will make it stronger and make it harder to deal with. Shine some sunlight on it and it will go away.

  7. Steyn made a good point about a Pelosi led house potentially being no worse and possibly better than a Paul Ryan one. Adams, however, based on his hypothetical examples exudes naivety. He seems to think that the US has a free market health care alternative to single payer. His bisected health care example would require deregulation at the state and federal level (full appeal of Obamacare which is a successful plan to collapse insurance pools) to arrive at a mandate-free private insurance system. Even if that was achievable, socialists are never content with voluntary participation, the nature of the beast is coercion by definition otherwise it would be a co op. They want your money, period. Ask any Canadian why we have no private health care insurance or delivery alternatives for “individuals”. The reason is that it is a system superficially sold on humane egalitarian principles but in reality premised on the politics of envy, resentment and hatred. Wait your turn, Comrade, or leave your country (to spend your own money)!

  8. It’s quite evident Scott Adams is a Dem and thinks he has won! Trump WON the Senate that was important to him, so now he will work on the DOJ, CIA, FBI and many other Departments to get the SWAMP people out!! The House is relatively a tie which some Dem’s and Rep’s willing to side with the other side for the purpose of getting what they want. I’ll do you a favour if you do me one!! The important thing is that the DEM’s think they WON, so now TRUMP can do what he needs to do to get the economy running smoothly and the country safe!!

  9. The loons are on the loose. They need Trump in order to delude themselves regarding the underlying problem. The half of the country that supported Trump is, in reality, voting against the Political Media Complex which has its legs spread wide for Corporatism, Wall Street and the Globalists.

  10. Scott Adams is a bit over rated IMO. I remember when the heat was turned up during the 2016 election and Adams made it clear that he had to be ‘cool’ with his commentary since he was worried about his well being. I believe it was during that time that he suspended his comments section which used to regularly run in the thousand and some!
After the 2016 election he was more open with his thoughts.
Now that the Dems have taken the House expect Scott to be a little more circumspect with his observations.
Adams thrives in Comufornia as such plays it close to the middle.

I imagine for Scott that 2020 and the possibility of a Dem takeover is too close for his level of comfort.

  11. Interesting idea…

“You can have single payer healthcare, just sign up and only that group EVER pays for single payer”.

Let’s apply that to the “carbon free economy”.

“Only people who sign this form, and agree to support pipelines and such, are allowed to buy any fossil fuel based products. If you want to keep protesting, you have to walk. No more busing, no more heating oil, no diesel, no gasoline, no natural gas, no pharma, no yoga pants, no fleeces,… you want carbon free? YOU LEAD THE WAY. UNDER LEGAL PENALTY.”

    1. Kevin: I totally agree…can you see McKenna, Tru-groper, Butts and the whole Lie-bral party getting on buses, walking or riding a bike to work and of course doing without all things that are produced by fossil fuels. The Lie-brals just don’t care about Canadians as long as they get what they want…a ship of FOOLS!

  12. I have no faith in Scott Adams’ predictions. During the 2016 campaign he predicted that Trump was the master-communicator who would win in a landslide. And when Trump squeaked out a win, losing the popular vote, Adams claimed his prediction came true. BS!

    1. And now he and the other loons Kate linked to are pulling their Black Knight routine (‘Tis but a flesh wound!’). I’m not gonna watch this BS but I have no doubt Adams will try to seriously explain that losing the House was yet another master stroke by Teh Orange Jesus.

      1. He lost half the house seats of Obama (bpuh – bees pee upon him). Compared with the last century, this is a good midterm for the president.

    2. Because Trump understood that the popular vote means nothing in the US because the make-up of the electoral college is what determines the winner. Until California splits the electoral votes according to percentage of party affiliation there’s no reason for Republicans to vote in California. Until that happens, the popular vote is meaningless. It’s the split of the vote in the voting areas that matters, and that’s where Trump got his majority.

Or do you think that someone who loses 49 states by a 50.5% to 49.5% vote, and wins only one state but with 100%, should be the winner of the election?
