Rebecca Lewis is a Ph.D. student in Communication. She has written a “report” that not so subtly “concludes” that conservative voices on the Internet should be squelched. A quick read through her Twitter feed reveals precisely her bias.
Her “study” has caught the attention of some prominent YouTubers who dispute the validity of her “findings”.

In a better world, a supposed Ph-D would know the difference between rhetoric and evidence. Calling anybody a member of the reactionary right does not change their particular political views. If Doctor Lewis wants to make an effective argument as a Ph-D would, she needs to bring her evidence.

Extremism on either side of the political spectrum is a problem, so why is it MSM never complains about extremism on the left? Can we have some profiling and discussion of Antifa, The Southern Poverty thugs, and the other extremists who want to shut down free speech?

That’s very true. She seems to not realise that has been done, and she is the product of that. We now need a correction: To fix the economy, change the schools.
Her premise lacks any logic. How can anybody think that watching a particular opinion on a website, where almost ALL opinions are available, makes me incapable of finding and listening to those other available opinions??
And can not anybody use a search engine to find other opinions as well?

The left only wants to deal with symptoms, not the disease. The disease is the left’s systematic demonization of all thoughts and ideas that deviate even slightly from their orthodoxy, also known as “wokeness”. The wilder the wokeness gets – there’s no biological differences between men and women, white people are evil, men are toxic, free speech is violence, statues are oppressive, vaginas are now front holes/some women have a penis – the more people will reject wokeness and go looking for alternative ideas. Since the left has shrunk the Overton Window of acceptable thought so drastically, alternative info can only be safely accessed where you can be anonymous, like YouTube. This is a symptom of too much suppression and demonization of thoughts and ideas.
Attacking the symptom by increasing suppression and demonization is counterproductive. It pushes the message and messengers into darker and darker corners of the web. As much as the left hates (fears) people like Peterson, Rogan, Rubin, the alternatives are likely much worse.
Even the powerful Catholic Church couldn’t suppress new religions, new ideas and the scientific research of heretics. Neither will the leftist cult of wokeness.
One of the tweets says it all about the circle arguments of anti-hierarchical identists, aka crackpots:

In some ways, the McCarthyism of the fifties victimized but in doing so invigorated the left, making the institutions a habitat for their growth and eventual dominance over. Secure in that dominance but naturally insecure in their intellectual foundation, they now advocate for their own form of witch hunt and censorship of all that question and therefore threaten those weak narratives supporting their dominance. That, and the reality of statism being premised on coercion and the actualization of such.
