The #BlueWave narrative — the media’s all-but-concluded assumption that Democrats would retake the House of Representatives from the GOP in November — has largely been based on the state of the generic ballot poll. So you might assume the media tasked with covering the 2018 midterm elections would immediately react to a sudden shift in the most important metric available for predicting the most important outcome of those elections.
Or, you might not.
Their ‘blue wave’ is really just a blue waffle.

The lame stream media are MORTALLY afraid of a “Trumptastic” day in November.
Any and all glimmers of hope for the GOP must be ruthlessly suppressed, simply on the grounds that it is dissonant with “The NARRATIVE”; and runs counter to the proposition that the media runs the country, rather than the voter.

“The poll doesn’t support OUR CAUSE, it may give the impression that the voter actually has input.”

What is the point of fishing out a year and a half quote that has surely been overcome by current events? Trump said what he said back then because he had no idea of how deep and polluted the swamp was. And because he is basically a nice guy. It does not mean that he is forever held to those sentiments. Poll or no poll, the MSM is just playing the odds.
Historically, the party of the President generally loses seats in congress in the midterm elections. Although President Trump has exceeded all expectations, odds are that this midterm will not be the exception. There will be carry over in state elections too. The total domination of the Republicans is unlikely to continue from an historical perspective. One could even say it’s too large to continue.
That said, much could happen before November. Should President Trump pull off the North Korea deal and/or Iran caves in to pressure, the Republicans could increase their numbers in congress. On the other side, there is the whole collusion/Mueller thing which could make things glorious for Democrats.
It’s really too early for predictions. Too many balls in the air. It should be much clearer by September. (California might be a state with some surprises).
Too many balls in the air is right. The issues you mention could indeed swing voting sentiment either way. A big issue you didn’t mention is the possibility that some of the swamp dwellers will be (hopefully) led off in cuffs before then. Another issue could be the continual move to the radical left of some of the Democrat candidates and if the people are ready to vote for radical socialists.

If the Dems take the house that’ll ensure a Trump landslide re-election. They will go full impeachment mode and will essentially shut down the gov’t while doing this. Regardless, the Dems likely will LOSE seats in the Senate…therefore impeachment is meaningless, as it is the Senate that has the power to remove POTUS….not the House. A growing number of Americans understand that a coup by the Dems against TRUMP will negatively hit the markets.
