  1. “Peoplekind”? Did he really just say that or have I finally gone completely bonkers?

  2. Way to deflect, JT! The issue is not what she said – don’t ever address that.
Try to make the issue only about if she chose the latest wanker words as she said it.
A variant of “if you don’t like the message, try to attack the messenger”.
She was not SJW enough. Therefore, her argument is not valid. Address the “progressive thoughtspeak” credentials of the person, not the actual argument presented. (Which, BTW, it sounds like she did a good job on, even tho we only heard the last few seconds)

  3. WE like to say people kind.
What justin likes to say is what we all like to say.
    Because justin IS Canada.
If you are not with him, you are not part of the Canada that WE will listen to.
Can you imagine if Harper had been this dismissive? CBC would have been playing the clip non-stop until the next election.

  4. No, no. He couldn’t say the common alternate, humankind, because it has the word ‘man’ in it.
Just another himbo eruption. Two progs trying to out-correct each other.

  5. Wanker?
I would agree except I don’t think Justin has anything to wank in his pants.
I doubt there are male parts in there.

  6. “WE” sorry socks, you are not speaking for the “we’s” of the world only the buffoons of the Liberal party.

  7. Oh, dear…. now one of the most important phrases in history will now have to be scrubbed clean:
“That’s one small step for an oppressive toxic patriarchal people, one giant leap for peoplekind.”
Oh, and the crew of Apollo 11 came in peace for all peoplekind.
Does that mean we now have to change the name of a certain province to Peopleitoba?

  8. Screw PM Socks emasculated response … what in. the. hell. was this woman talking about? That Mommy will keep baby cost and warm? Geeze … fear crying out loud … she misunderstood the hell out of Roger Waters lyrics …
Mother do you think they’ll drop the bomb
Mother do you think they’ll like the song
Mother do you think they’ll try to break my balls
Ooooh aah, Mother should I build a wall
Mother should I run for president
Mother should I trust the government
Mother will they put me in the firing line
Ooooh aah, is it just a waste of time
Hush now baby, baby don’t you cry
Mama’s gonna make all of your

    Under her wing
She won’t let you fly but she might let you sing
Mama will keep baby cosy and warm
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
Of course Mama’s gonna help build the wall

Mother will she tear your little boy apart
Oooh aah, mother will she break my heart
Hush now baby, baby don’t you cry
Mama’s gonna check out all your girl friends for you
Mama won’t let anyone dirty get through

Mama will always find out where
    You’ve been
Mamma’s gonna keep baby healthy and clean
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
You’ll always be a baby to me
Mother, did it need to be so high.

    No ma’am … Mommy-Government ain’t gonna “improve” anything.

  9. You can’t say woman because it has man in it. So say woperson.
But you can’t say that because it has son in it.
So instead of woman, you have to say woperchild.

  10. “You can’t say woman because it has man in it. So say woperson.
But you can’t say that because it has son in it.
So instead of woman, you have to say woperchild.”
    More, please. Keep going.

  11. Okay, so where is the big revelation of someone in power in Canada committing an unnamed impropriety?

  12. we are Humans – not Hupeople.
Or is that the next thing clowns like Trudeau are going to correct/inflict on us?

  13. Who says peoplekind? Nobody I know.
    I’ve heard humankind or humanity.
Oh well no more manifest destiny or manufacturing or manual labor or……………

  14. You can’t have maternal love if there’s no such thing as sex differences. All love is both paternal and maternal because equality.
Secondly, if she has no children, who is she to declare what is and what isn’t maternal/paternal love? I’m sure her and her girlfriend are just eagerly going through the donation roster trying to find the most soy laden boychild who gave his seed freely, amirite?
Thirdly, how dare she deign to offend those of us who don’t believe in her views? She’s committing a hate crime and needs to be stopped.

  15. Honestly, the strategy for his riding should be for everyone in the world to say “suck it, you’re stuck with him” and refuse to run anyone against him.
If a single liberal, gets a single vote in this country in the next election, that should be all the evidence anyone ever needs about Canada.

  16. My apologies for being off topic but the Dow Jones drop…
is the biggest one day drop EVER…
yet I can not find a decent explanation in the media.
I know there are smart people here at smalldeadanimals, I’m sure some of you can point me in the right direction, to some great articles or something?
All day I watched the stock market go down like a rock in water, yet the media seemed incapable of telling us what was going on or rather why.
    Anyone ?
    Thank you

  17. perhaps I totally misunderstood, but I took her comments to mean that the charity/non-profit which she represented was having some problems working in Canada because it was too pro-life and couldn’t get the government grants it needed to help fund its work.
Regardless, the PM’ comment was so nasty and dismissive that he needs to be called out more than he is for it.

  18. Janet Yellen took ONE LAST SWIPE at Trump on her way out of Dodge by raising interest rates and making forward looking statements indication that the strong economy will trigger fast and furious interest rate increases. Last time the Fed did this … they sent the Economy into Recession when it had just started removing nicely.
The Fed is HIGHLY politicized. It artificially drove interest rates to zero (and below) in order to prop-up the ObamaCONomy … and now will be THROTTLING the FABULOUS Trump Economy … for purely political reasons. The Fed is as swampy as any other government bureaucracy.
    And … US-issued 10-year Bonds rose to about 2.85%.
This is a combination of PROFIT-taking, computerized trading, and the PANIC of the little guys. Computerized trading sets AUTOMATIC SELL orders based on various proprietary algorithms. Like when Janet Yellen jacks up interest rates …

  19. In Oct 87 the market dropped approx 50%, that would be 12,000 points today.
The DJIA in 87 may have been without looking up 4000 to 5000 if that.

  20. Someone asked me a question the other day regarding the mental stability of PM Justine Trudump and I interrupted her and “mansplained” that the correct reference when talking about Trudomo was, PM Dumbshit, or PM Shitforbrains. Hopefully from now on all of “peoplekind” will remember PM Dumbshits proper designation.

  21. you are right it is ( to an extent ) fake news
I finally found something about it,
in points it is huge ( a drop of 1175 ) but in percentage it is 4.6 % which – historically – is NOT huge.
    that places it at 25TH
there were 24 larger drops in percentage before today’s 4.6 %
we can not rely on points because for example the drop of 22% in 1987 was only 508 points
so using points is used to push fake news , that is true
they used a truth ( in points it is the largest drop ) to tell a lie
    the art of fake news

  22. If that’s what he did, then it’s considerably more intelligent than what he said.

  23. It was around 2000 at the time.
I remember that day very well. The DJIA went down rapidly and since I knew I couldn’t do anything about it, I held my nose, so to speak, and rode it out.
As it turned out, much of my portfolio at the time eventually recovered. Some of the stocks became attractive takeover targets and I remember selling one at a mere 100% profit.
We’ve had a good run recently, so, on the whole, I’m still in good shape. However, I’ve yet to hear what’s causing the sell-off and why. The downward trend of the past few days could be attributed to the release of The Memo and its aftermath. The market likes good news, can often handle bad news, but it hates uncertainty.
Much of the decline on the TSX might be caused by PM Peoplekind doing whatever he can to discourage investment in this country. Investors may well have had enough of his flummery and decided to take their money elsewhere.
Canadian Friend: I’ve been an investor for over 30 years and I long stopped paying attention to most financial commentators. I kept more of my money that way.

  24. Its the biggest number of points drop, but as a fraction of its value, it isn’t a record drop. If you have been watching stock prices, they have been climbing for no good reason. Excessively. People get nervous when that happens, and anything, or nothing can trigger someone to sell a big chink, probably just losing their nerve. Then others follow. The stock market is more a bunch of sheep than the savvy professionals they would like you to believe they are.
A long time ago, in the dot com boom days, I was driving from silicon valley, up 101 towards San Francisco and saw a huge poster from E*Trade, that just struck me as so true that it sticks with me to this day:
If you stockbroker is so smart, why is he still working?
    Think about that.
Also think about how trading really works these days. It should be pretty clear when you realize that the big traders are all in NY. They all have data centers in their NY offices, even though that space is hyper expensive. Other industries have their data centers out in the sticks somewhere where space is cheap. Why is this? Its because they want to be close to the NY stock exchange, and get the shortest, fastest internet connection they can to it so that their trades will hit microseconds before others do.
They don’t trade stock based upon the quality of a company, they buy based upon their prediction of which way the value of a stock is going. They may buy a million dollars of stock, and resell it in less than a second if they can make a few cents per share on the trade. Its betting chips to them.
If they see any (or all) stocks going down, they will dump them. Which will depress the value even more which will then persuade the sheep in the rest of the country who do more normal speed trades to follow.
This is all fixable, but no-one wants to fix it.
    The fix?
Tax on the profit on any trade is 1/the number of days the stock has been held.
Day one, its 100%, day 2 its 50% day 3 its 33.33333% day 4 25% etc. Hold on to it for more than 100 days, and there is no tax on your profit.
The stock market is supposed to be about company finance, not betting chips.

  25. “You can’t have maternal love if there’s no such thing as sex differences.”
You also can’t claim there is any such thing a “maternal love” while Canadian women abort 100K+ babies each and every year for the last quarter of a century.
The absurdity of feminists claiming such a thing while having abortion-on-demand is mind boggling.

  26. Whoever coined the fitting nickname Prime Minister Twinkie was right.
Can you imagine the hue and cry that would have occurred had Prime Minister Harper insulted a woman like that.

  27. hi folks, for your own enlightenment, read the post, and tq Phil.
also, this one was HUGE, and could have gotten completely out of hand. that’s why I remember it:
    https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn18900-briefing-computer-traders-blamed-for-wall-street-crash/
and the thing about trades by the big money boys counted in milli, check, *micro* seconds, all true. it also exists in access to international markets; clients pay a premium to access the significantly faster dedicated fiber optic lines.
it is one of countless ways my prediction will come true that some time in the future, ALL resources and assets under, on and above the earth will be owned by some minuscule # of people. couple thousand or so, each trying to gobble up the others.

  28. Oct. 19, 1987 … was the birth day of my youngest son … I can still remember driving to the hospital thoroughly depressed about the OMEN this was for his birthday. Born on the day of the (second?) worst CRASH of the US Stock Market.
As it turns out … my youngest kid is our golden boy who excels in all that he does. Omen-schomen… all the children born today have a bright future … if they apply themselves and learn everything they can.

  29. This ain’t my first rodeo.
Been through several major market corrections over the years. Just grit your teeth and let it pass. It has always come back to where it started before the fall, sometimes in weeks, other times in a year or two. There are always people around saying – this time it’s different. So far only the timing of the recovery is different.
    Stay tooned.
