Some days, the witches burn themselves.
In my first week there, I reached out to an award-winning CTV reporter and anchor, who is still on the air today. Literally today, talking about Patrick Brown.
I had met him at a birthday party some weeks earlier. I didn’t know the birthday girl, but was there as the guest of one of my friends. The CTV guy introduced himself to me, and I told him of my ambitions to work in television myself. He gave me his card and said I shouldn’t hesitate to call him if there was anything he could do to help.
I was thrilled to have made such a great contact. I was already feeling indebted to him, just for the offer.

Update. That didn’t take long.
CTV News anchor Paul Bliss suspended following sexual misconduct allegations

That’s what I call cultural revolution! Bonfires everywhere, statues toppled, people running with sharp objects, shadows in dark alleys and pop-corn shortages everywhere. No one is safe.
Will there be a counter-revolutionary backlash and how will look like or new cycle will be superimposed for generation?
This wasn’t the kind of big splash Brown wanted to make in public. He soiled a lot more than the carpet. All that’s missing is the “Something About Mary” zipper catch scene with Brown trying to explain to the paramedics the big wet spot’s just hair mousse or spilt liquid paper. The only thing Patrick’s gonna be handling now is named Peter and the Ont. PC’s are praying his stain comes out in the wash. Ick.
Hey, guilty without chance of innocence dude. Remember, when it happens to you (and it will), you did it to yourself. When they came for the Catholics, I did not speak out because I was not Catholic. When they came for the men …
This story strikes me as being somewhat worse than anything Patrick Brown did. Maybe I am splitting hairs here. Brown`s activities took place in a vaguely social context (evening, meet up in a bar, home (not office) environment, and he desisted when asked to do so. The description in the Bridget Brown story smacks of professional harassment. Does anyone want to name this jerk? Clearly there are a lot of sexual predators out there.
” Clearly there are a lot of sexual predators out there. ”
What happened to old fashion seduction, what happened to tango…and bachata?
So,who is the person she’s referring to?
A story like this could smear several innocent men,if you have a story to tell, name the person who allegedly committed the “matter”, and let the people who didn’t participate in this type of thing breathe easy.
With the new insanity of guilty, period,no chance to even prove your innocence, and your career ruined even if you do,I can see some enterprising person re-starting up an old favorite from the 1930’s for getting rid of inconvenient persons, Murder Incorporated.
No names just the virtue signalling without the destroyed carreer when it’s Liberal on Liberal.
How many award winning CTV reporters are there?
Maybe sharia ain’t all that bad. Looks like needing 4 women to override the testimony of one man is going to be increasingly needed over time.
How many who follow her on Twitter. This one should not be too hard to figure out — at least it should be possible to come up with a short list.
How many CTV award winning reporters are on Patrick Brown story?
Duffy is retired from CTV, does that leave Oliver?
(puke, barf)
Award-winning anchors who were previously on Canada AM.
I think this is all about “watch what you wish for, you might just get it”
The feminists wanted to be able to do what they want when they want.Free, open sex, etc. Well ,now you’ve got it and ALL that comes with it.
“And CTV has suspended reporter and anchor Paul Bliss, who has covered the Patrick Brown controversy in recent days, while it investigates allegations of sexual misconduct.”
Link?
Martin B, I think that you are mixing up the two stories. The award winning media type in the woman’s article and the story involving Brown are not the same male.
test
Paul Bliss has always been a liberal propagandist for CTV News …
and just last night he used the word “disgraced” when referring to Patrick Brown.
The whole #metoo thing keeps getting better and better every day …
It was a tweet from a Tor Star reporter.

Tanks.
Wow, this is moving fast.
A war of the sex’s. Who’da thunk it?
I want to see the first woman go down….
It has to happen. Nobody is safe.
#notme – I think….unless I forgot something…..
May this continue unabated with the likes of Pansbridge Burzuki Kneel etal all getting the same spanking. so much fun, get lawyered up David
One of the most regrettable aspects of this is that it is turning into a war between the sexes. That is not helpful for anyone, but I somehow get the feeling that women are cheered on for bringing these stories forward because of previous grievances and offences they have had from men — not even necessarily related to sex. A recent story at the U of Calgary (for which I tried posting a link the other day but it got caught in the spam catcher) has a young man sentenced for interference with someone underage. Well, he did pursue some sort of sexual thing with a freshman in his high school while he was a senior, but it is not the sort of thing society typically goes after. (Can`t remember details, but it is a sad case. The fellow`s life is now rather a mess.) Anyway he gets a smallish sentence from BC, but is allowed to return to U of Calgary to finish his term when some woman who is not at all involved in this decides his sentence was too light. So next thing is she starts a petition to have him banned from campus (she does not even attend the school). Anyway, what is motivating her is that she was assaulted by some guy years ago and she thought his sentence was too light. We are breeding a world in which people carry resentments and then lash out against anyone who reminds them of their anger. This is behind some of the `me too`and also behind at least some aspects of the women`s march. Hillary not getting to be president made a lot of women angry, probably related to their own failures at some point in life.
Agreed a war of the sexes is the last thing we need.
I am familiar with the story you refer to at the UofC. This occurred between I think a 16yo boy and a 13yo girl. He was a jr hockey player and she was texting nudes of herself to him. What could possibly go wrong?
The bar has really been set in this new field.
I accuse someone anonymously, they lose their job, position of trust, demoted or singled out for ridicule and by the next day, 1000’s of people will be tweeting how they’d always suspected that “something just wasn’t right”
Elections are going to be a riot in Canada.
Vice President Pence has really got the right attitude. Not going anywhere without his wife, where there may be “other” women.
http://calgarysun.com/news/national/outrage-over-delayed-sentence-for-hockey-player-convicted-of-sex-crime-against-child
I believe you are referring to this story.
And Pence was actually mocked for that.
That is a more gruesome depiction of his crime than I originally heard, but same case. I saw a documentary on it which was sympathetic to Neurater. The story I wanted to highlight though was the woman who started a petition to have him banned from campus because she thought he deserved greater punishment. Digital vigilante justice. She was successful. Calgary caved, but now a lawyers group is pushing for due process.
That is a more gruesome depiction of his crime than I originally heard
The last person I’m going to believe about the conduct of a 13 year old girl’s sex life is her mother. This is backwards-Heather Parsons all over again. The part that screams “total bull****”? This:
The victim eventually confided in her 14-year-old best friend — who began sending nude photos of herself to Neurauter in an attempt to lure him away from the victim.
Anyone who believes this is what happened is being deliberately credulous.
Peter Mansbridge
If indeed Paul Bliss is the one she’s talking about he should have taken a stand rather than talking about Brown, whose offences seem less egregious than his own.
A few thoughts:
Does power corrupt, or just reveal who we are?
Powerful men are discovering their careers can be liquidated by a sniper tweet.
The balance of power is rarely evenly balanced.
Free sex isn’t freeing.
The cultural revisionists have succeeded in destroying all remnants of societal mores and conventions when it comes to relations between the sexes. Now there are no limits, no goals, no rules to the game; it’s a wasteland of hormonal and emotional needs without a framework to operate in.
The end result is predictable: the wasteland caters to the most decrepit from either sex: from Harvey Weinstein predators and emasculated liberal emo-boys professing their love and respect for women … while using it as an excuse to get into their pants, and on the female side, harpies and emotionally immature girls given the equivalent of flame throwers and bazookas to lash out at any male who causes them discomfort or doesn’t measure up to their expectations. Which includes almost every male.
And the victims of this latest caterwauling of confusion and intolerance? Real victims of sexual abuse, their cries lost in the aural orgasm of #MeToo groupies busily vying for their victimhood credentials and crying “Wolf!”. And normal teenagers and young adults, who must now navigate the challenges of learning about relationships in a poisoned atmosphere of distrust and identity politics, whose romantic role models have devolved from Disney fantasies to legal briefs.
Good job, oh enlightened progressives! Good job!
they give awards to themselves and call themselves great. must be difficult to pat one’s self on the back that often.
You nailed it with that comment.
The progressives were so busy tearing down all the fussy old notions of morality and trashing the things that once constituted proper behavior between the sexes that they didn’t realize the end result can look like poorly designed traffic control. When all the lights are set to green things can get chaotic fairly quickly.
