    I actually laughed when I read the headline. I guess I’m like that. I’ll keep an eye out for Justin Trudeau’s defence of this guy in the msm, but not optimistic anyone will print something attaching these two.

  14. None of the media outlets are saying who the alleged victim is, but my gut feeling is that it’s his wife. She has the beaten-down look of a battered woman, and didn’t she land in the hospital soon after their return to Canada for reasons that were never explained?

  21. I don’t think we can just send him back. He would undoubtedly sue for ten million or so. Trudeau has set a precedent on this (more than just Khadr). There are clever lawyers out there and they would probably be successful in suing if we try to get rid of this guy. I think we are stuck with him — and many more like him. Sad situation for Canada.

  25. It actually was the CBC who published the photo of the PM with the family, and yes to the first commenter, Stephen, what was the security check done on this encounter?
    CBC clearly labelled the photo as Dec. 19.
    I’m not sure any police agency goes to arrest on 15 felonies in less than two weeks.
    My wife (sensed) knew there was something very wrong back in October when the family was brought back to Canada.

  29. I watched CTV news this PM. They specifically quoted someone who said that the cause of his offences were most likley related to his being held captive. I kid you not!!
    Two notches against Boyle.
    1:He’s a friend of Justin Trudeau.
    2: He was married to Omar Khadr’s sister.

  32. That’s outrageous. They have no way of knowing this. It also is completely unnecessary at this point to try to “explain” Boyle’s crimes. What if it turns out he beat his wife even before being held captive? No wonder people have lost faith in the objectivity of news reporting.

  45. So Boyle requested the meeting, while knowing he was under investigation, or at least having been visited by local law on numerous occasions. Why meet the PM? Why now? Why the weirdo tweet after saying they had met before on common interests in 2006 (ha ha)?
    PMO wont say what was discussed in the meeting. It could have been kept high level, as in, we discussed his family, How the children are adjusting and how happy they were to be in Canada. Unless that wasn’t all, and the PMO, quite rightly, don’t trust Boyle to not contradict as he becomes up close and personal with the justice system.
    As many have said, the story stinks. He is clearly a troubled guy and has been for some time. Says he was raised a Mennonite, but his family is active in the Catholic Church. He gets involved with the first family of terror and converts, then divorces, then goes off to Afghanistan with a pregnant wife. He has been on a long journey in search of whatever is missing in his life. Is it likely he had a crappy experience in Afghanistan….yes. Seems to want to be a victim and at the same time a player.
    His parents, wow I cant imagine. They will have known he has been lost for some time. His In Laws….why do I think that’s the story. I cannot imagine the absolute anger and disgust they would have with their SiL. The numerous charges feel like they come from them, whether the daughter is the victim or only one of the victims they would be the backbone in all of this, is my guess. They will speak at an appropriate time, likely when they know they have their daughter and grandchildren properly extracted from the situation.
    Free the daughter, free the children and move on with your life. Daddy is crazy.

  50. Where did the story come from that Boyle et al had been held captive for years and subsequently freed by Pakistani commandos? I’m guessing it was Boyle that came up with that one, along with the ever-truthful Pakistani military corroborating his story. What strikes me as more than a little odd is that whopper was swallowed hook, line and sinker by the MSM and repeated as fact. It’s a crock and should be exposed as such.
