Up your game, Canada

I’m doing my part.

Canadians drink more alcohol per capita than the worldwide average, according to the World Health Organization. A report released this week found that Canadians aged 15 and older drank 10 litres of pure alcohol per capita in 2016–3.6 more than the world average. Of the nearly 200 countries include in the report, Canada ranked 40th.

Cheers.

  1. Exactly. We should classify the federal government as a health hazard as its actions (or lack thereof) are enough to drive anyone to drink.

  2. Yep,with the governments we’re stuck with,it’s enough to drive anyone to drink.
I wonder if the daily “triggering” we suffer at the hands of Trudeau,Notley,Horgan,Weaver, etc., entitles us to a free 26’er of Scotch or whatever every week.
Think of them as “shooting galleries” for non- junkies that actually worked for a living all their lives.

  3. I’ve often considered Alcoholic as a 2nd (3rd? 4th? 5th?)career!
At least I support local businesses and regularly visit wineries in Prince Edward County. With our Ontario Gov’t. they need all the help they can get! As well as producing some really terrific wines.

  4. Before you start worrying, consider that, of the countries included in the report:
    – 1/3 are Muslim and thus anti-alcohol; and
    – 1/3 are so poor the people eat bugs.
    You’re doing just fine, Canada.

  5. How is “-3.6 more” different from 3.6 less? Or does the minus sign have a different meaning in metric?
