Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Who needs a time machine? Just go to North Korea and step back in time 100 years. And those rusty buckets behind the locomotive are state-of-the-art passenger compartments.
I would if I thought any of her clothing line was designed for those of us who are built “more for comfort than speed”. Though, given The Bay is still carrying her line, will check them out.
“China has “total control over North Korea,” Trump said in an interview on “Fox & Friends” in early January. “And China should solve that problem. And if they don’t solve the problem, we should make trade very difficult for China.”
————————————————————————-
To me that’s been obvious for years. North Korea is, in effect, a buffer state for China to keep the influence of South Korea and the west at bay.
Secondly, it’s used by China to sow mischief for the west and India in the Middle-East, Pakistan and Iran, South Korea and Japan.
President Trump is the first president to call out China on doing that. He’s already head and shoulders about his predecessors.
To pay for refugees. It’s no coincidence that justin’s islamic party of Canada rolls out a new tax for the provinces as the feds wash their hands of the financial responsibility of the thousands of refugees living in hotels for a year.
Because the government believes you have some money (or that you can get some), so they want it.

If you think paying taxes is bad, try inheriting money.
I’m in the process of probating and, ultimately, settling my father’s estate. Just about every time I deal with the government, there’s some bureaucrat demanding payment, even if it’s to process a single-sheet form. But–oh, no–we don’t have an inheritance tax, do we?
The locomotive was designed in two minutes and assembled personally in fifteen minutes by Kim Il-sung just before he shot his 18-hole round of golf with 11 holes in one.
Re: Steamers
I remember them quite well, although when I was a kid, they were burning bunker fuel instead of coal that they had been designed for. The following is one of the best steam videos I’ve ever seen, especially when the governor cuts in at 1:15. No doubt the fire was starved for air for visual effect. No Canadian Pacific locomotive would have blown smoke that black, it would lose to many horses. A well adjusted fire however would have been like the engine at 0:25.

PS: Imagine the thrill of watching a massive locomotive flashing by at full throttle 50-75 MPH back in the 1920’s when the average car was travelling at 35 MPH.
All that while catching all pokemon using the landline.
Can anything be discussed on this thread?
Because I’m very upset just learning earlier this evening that men and women share hospital beds because of the shortage. I hadn’t heard of it before and yet all my friends on Facebook did know and one had experienced it – but in her case, it was two men and another woman and that was in 2014.
My sister-in-law is at this moment sharing a room with a strange man. My brother had to return home and leave her there, but I’d be damned if I’d be sharing a room with a male.
I’ve emailed Wynne and asked about this practice. I reminded her as gracefully as I could that no politician would share a room with a member of the opposite sex (being quite sure she won’t be sharing a room with a male).
I know definitely a Muslim female would not share a room with a male (and for all I know not with a female infidel) so I’m going to order a hijab online. I refuse to share a room with the opposite sex and pray God I never have to go into hospital.
How on earth have we got ourselves into this mess?
May I suggest that you highlight and paste your post on ”Reader Tips.” This thread is about antique steam engines in N. Korea.
I can really feel your frustration.

The WP&YR railway runs steam loks and 1950s vintage diesels every summer between Alaska and the Yukon on a 3ft narrow gauge line through the coast mountains. One of the loks was built in 1910 and the other in 1947. There’s nothing quite like the sound of a steam lok at full throttle pulling up a 4% grade.
Damned resourceful of the Norks to run their steam loks on cut-up tires. Much better than piling them in dumps to breed mosquitos like we do.
… appears they are not running on coal but on tires, cut-up tires
wow, high tech steam and narrow gauge. I haven’t seen that since the newfie bullet was in service.
I wonder if someone in that country wrote a cover version of a certain Glenn Miller song, beginning with the line:
“Pardon me, boy, is that a North Korean choo-choo?”
Overheard on a North Korean train …
“I thought they said we would embark on a first class ticket?”
“No comrade, they said we would eat bark for our first course, then crickets.”
I had a neighbour who had designed a boiler that ran on old tires and used oil. It used a 1/3 HP blower to clean up the flame, however he still had problems with small threads of soot coming from the stack. The boiler heated the house and the shop. Everything went well until one day, his wife had hung clean white bed sheets on the line to dry. Needless to write, they now use natural gas!!
Steam Loks tend to do the same, whether they’re fueled with coal, bunker-oil or tires makes little difference.
