The attacks on Brannon are intended to let every potential Trump appointee know that they may be viciously defamed should they accept the post. It’s a lesson pour les autres.

I knew the Bannon story hit the big time when this morning on my small town radio station they had the Bannon story, complete with the usual talking points. Racist, sexist, anti-Semite…all dutifully delivered with the same breathless excitement reserved for stories about puppy kickers and baby rapists.
I know the small town radio station has their news headlines delivered in rip-n-read form from Broadcast News service. Meaning other small town stations throughout the country also gave the same talking points this morning. Someone at BN decided to highlight this tripe as truly earth shattering “news”, when barely 24 hours earlier Stephen K. Brannon was a nonentity to a very large number of Canadians. There’s your swarm right there, folks.
My wife wonders why I yell at news broadcasts, and seemingly only get my news from weird places like SDM, Blazing Cat Fur, Ace of Spades and on the radio from Breitbart News on the Patriot satellite channel.
My wife also thought I was nuts for saying over a year ago Trump would win.
So far Trump is not reacting to it. Hopefully he continues to do nothing or hits back. If he boots him then Trump is not who I think he is.
I am surprise how you SDA’ers are so confident in Trump. I predict his presidency will be a total disaster of his own making. Don’t get me wrong, I think a Hillary presidency would have been deplorable. But I have no faith in Trump’s common sense, he has no sense, he spouts nonsense too often.

The problem with all these foolish labeling attacks, is that they suffer fatally from diminishing returns. Mark Steyn as usual puts it best:
