i’m kathleen wynne from the liberal party of ontario, i’m here to save you…
by subsidising electric cars for all my rich friends…

“All in, these subsidies mean, according to an analysis
by the Fraser Institute, that the public will pay about $250 million
to lower emissions by 0.03% in 2020 compared to 2014.”

remember, the liberals have doubled ontario’s debt since being elected
    in 2003.
we also now have the highest per-capita electricity bills in north america.
the sparky car boondoggle is just the latest fiasco.

  2. Electric cars make nice toys for the rich, they don’t work for families taking kids around to all their sports activities or family trips. Of course we’re talking about the common folk trying to keep from drowning in household debt paying utility bills in Wynne’s Ontario.

“Former Liberal organizer Jacques Corriveau’s trial details extent of fraud”
“The person on trial is Jacques Corriveau, an 83-year-old former Liberal organizer who was a key player in the scandal-plagued sponsorship program. He is charged with fraud, forgery and laundering proceeds of crime for his role in an initiative that paid advertising agencies to place Government of Canada logos at sporting and cultural events in Quebec after the 1995 referendum on sovereignty.
The first witness at the trial was Luc Lemay, a Montreal businessman whose companies received $40-million between 1997 and 2003 for the sponsorship program. The trial heard that Mr. Lemay paid commissions of 17.5-per cent to Mr. Corriveau totalling $7-million on sponsorships he received for print publications and trade shows.”

  4. I think CBC over estimated the numbers a bit there. If 2500 came out to see ‘selfie carbon tax man’ in the heart of Conservative country the Liberals should win easily.

Hopes that Belgium would back a European Union trade deal with Canada appear to have been dashed, putting the agreement in jeopardy.
Belgian prime minister Charles Michel said he had told EC president Donald Tusk today that the country could not sign the deal because he had failed to get agreement from regional authorities, notably Wallonia.”

  8. Otherwise known as “Disproportionate Response”:
… a letter to the editor in a local Rhode Island newspaper criticizing women over 20 who wear yoga pants in public. Quickly, it snowballed into a “Yoga Pants Parade” Sunday afternoon with hundreds of people walking past the letter writer’s house — and a few death threats, according to the author, who said he had only intended satire.

  9. Here is a remarkably similar case in England where the judge threw the book at the mother.

The council had ‘moved into wholesale acceptance that the boy should be regarded as a girl,’ he said. ‘Once again, I make no apology for repeating the fact that he was still only four. There was no independent or supportive evidence that he identified as a girl at all, indeed there was a body of investigation that suggested the contrary.’
The mother told Mr Justice Hayden that her son had ‘expressed disdain for his penis’ and said she was absolutely convinced her son perceived himself as a girl.’
A psychologist told the court that the mother, a former mental health nurse, had become ‘locked into a rigid and unshakeable belief structure’ about her son’s gender in what was described as an ‘enmeshed relationship’.

  11. Alternately, you could enlighten them about Norse government. Iceland’s parliament, the Althing, was established nearly 300 years before the signing of the Magna Carta.

  12. But Teslas DO work for the RICH faux Eco Libs in my little upper middle class community, where the trophy wives drive the Tesla to Whole Foods to buy some local sourced produce and free range chicken for dinner, Then stop at Jamba Juice to treat the girls to banana slushies with eckanacia before taking them to the High Society Charity group and fill food packages for all the unaccompanied minor Central American children who made it to the Sanctuary State of California. Then off to the local dance studio for the girls who are learning ethnic dances of central Africa. All in all, the trophy wives drive no more than 50 miles total, before plugging the car into a wall socket that pulls inefficient electric power from the power plant downwind in the POOR end of our county that spews noxious by-product gasses on the unfortunate, untouchables who are the recipients of the donated food bags packed by her girls earlier that afternoon.

  13. Yet another “trade deal”. I don’t know whether it is good or bad. It is NOT free trade, most trade deals aren’t. It is MANAGED trade. Various interested parties try to rig a trade market for themselves, making it harder for competitors. It is called CRONY capitalism.
Has anyone crossing the border to the US, especially for business, noticed it is easier now than before NAFTA? No, there is more bureaucracy and fees.
