“Pitre said with the conviction, and lengthy prison term, the federal government is now expected to seek to have Chalhoub deported. According to court records, Chalhoub, a citizen of Côte d’Ivoire, has resided in Canada since at least 2007 but never became a Canadian citizen.”
Wonder if CBC and CTV will be any more diligent following up on this?

Much as I regret to say it, Ezra didn’t do his research sufficiently. Yes, the CBC covered Rotherham back in 2014. And yes, it covered the trial of Chalhoub starting in January of this year.

The CBC may have covered the Chalhoub trial, but how loudly and prominently? I don’t remember hearing about it, and I do listen to CBC radio news.

No, but then I don’t pay any attention to the ‘news’. I don’t get TV or radio, at all. I read Drudge and Small Dead Animals, and this story right here is why.
Today, I was stuck in a dentist’s office with a television. The TV news is wall to wall Sammy Yatim. The cop who shot him is being sentenced, apparently. Three years, almost to the day, to pronounce a sentence we all knew as soon as we watched the video back in 2013. Mr. Policeman will be back out on bail by 3pm apparently, pending another endless appeals process.
I have learned today from the ‘news’ that 6 years in jail for murder is a ‘harsh’ sentence. Be a shame if anything happened to him in jail, wouldn’t it?

If the figure is statistically small, I’ll bet it is not out of line (or even lower) than the same stats in non-military families. Because we know this type of thing happens across the board, I am not sure what is accomplished by making a story out of its happening in military families, except to disparage the military. How about we do a study on the degree to which this is happening in Democratic families?

Call your Member of Parliament. Demand that Immigration Canada deport this convicted felon upon his release from prison.
A sentence of 6 months or longer gives the Dept. of Immigration the power to deport non-citizen convicted criminals.
Given the numbers times he committed this offence. This rapist is a clear and present danger to the Canadian public. Thus he should not be given early release but serve his full sentence. Then deported.
That will only happen if this case becomes a public issue.
Remember, Justin Trudeau decided convicted terrorists with dual citizenship will not be deported.
The Trudeau Liberal government has zero credibility on the issue of public safety. Actually, less than zero credibility. They are a menace.
The current nightmare of terrorism in Europe has been preceded by years of Islamist Muslims imposing Sharia law on anyone can, both infidels and on secular/liberal Muslims, too. Infidel women are viewed as war booty under Sharia.
