  2. The Socialists/Cultural Marxists don’t want you raising your own family.
    I suggest changing your name to Mohammed Bin Laden and Fatima bin Laden and the money will pour in from the new NDP government in Edmonton.
    Better yet, tell them you are starving Syrian refugees who already made it to Canada and you are changing your photography/knitting home businesses to something have to do with vests and plastic explosives.

  4. The reason the Liberal and NDP think you are worthless is because you are truly worthless to them. Not only would you and your husband not likely to vote for them in this election, you have made it so much harder for them to indoctrinate your children so that when they grow up, they probably won’t vote for their parties either.

  5. Do read this piece through. It’s well argued and logical. Tony H, you’re absolutely spot-on. If they get hold of your kids, their primary goal will be to indoctrinate them into their socialist paradise. In the absence of parental influence, their indoctrination is a fait accompli.

  7. What really irks me is the pretence by these idiots making their promises appear as though they are acts of selfless benevolence. Taxpayers seem to miss the fact that every penny (uh nickel) is drawn from their own pockets. A huge portion of these programs go toward rewarding and promoting irresponsibility, and stifling ambition.

  8. I think Trudeau and Mulcair are relying on stellar marihuana sales to bring in the revenue and make their plan look good. There’ll be a huge number that just won’t care anymore so that’ll be that. Better stockpile the Doritos dudes!

    Been there, done that. I gave up a career in nursing by choice! It was in the days of Hedy Fry screaming in the House of Commons that I was oppressed by a wifebeater who was keeping me barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen.
    My preference was slippers, pregnant and in the garden. and I knew many moms out working who really would have preferred to stay home but there were no breaks for the single income families.
    Harper gets it! The family tax credits are giving families more choice.

  11. Why not just go for Thing 1 and Thing 2? Though, back in the day, we got creative on the Stats Can census when it came to naming head of household. As I remember, anyone but the cat was eligible, depending on how we defined the family structure on that particular day. Nowadays, though, THE CAT RULES.

  12. And she does address – though to a minor extent – the degree to which stay-at-home parents are the mainstay of school, community, and church volunteer work. Back in the day, I estimated I did about 30 hours volunteer work per week, scattered around the various entities, and working when the offsprings were at school. Got to the point that, when said offsprings were asked what Mummy did, their response was “she’s a professional volunteer”. Do not regret it: got to do a lot of interesting things and help our various communities while keeping a beady eye on our offsprings. Sadly, though, Messrs. Trudeau and Mulcair will persist in thinking of me as a non-contributor, if not as an outright parasite.

  13. This one really struck a chord with me. My wife has always stayed home to care for the kids. Reading this blog was like reading our life story, ESPECIALLY the volunteering part.
    Now that my kids are older, we are fostering and looking at adopting (the Pride training is done!). I wonder how many other families like ours do the same thing?

  15. I left her blog page open to check it out further and she has an update today. First her letter received 17 800 views which is encouraging. Also it appears she is getting harrassing emails from some troll named Leighton Tebay whom she is calling out on her blog along with his email there if anyone is so inclined to call the troll out.

  17. Another reason I like to remain anonymous. People are no less cruel in person. Too bad she got the cold shoulder from RCMP. Maybe it was the same officer who wouldn’t investigate after that Calgary Cab driver was harassed by that drunk passenger.
