Mulcaring: Friends of Kim Jong-Tom

It’s for your own good.

Just as Tom Mulcair attempts to convince Canadians that the NDP is a safe, moderate choice in the Oct. 19 election, some of his party’s highest profile supporters are issuing a manifesto calling for a radical restructuring of the country’s economy.
The “leap manifesto,” signed by more than 100 actors, musicians, labour unions, aboriginal leaders, environmentalists and other activists, aims to pressure the next federal government to wean Canada entirely off fossil fuels in as little as 20 years and, in the process, upend the capitalist system on which the economy is based.
[…] among the celebrity signatories are a number of prominent NDP supporters, including former Ontario NDP leader Stephen Lewis, father of Avi, who gave a rousing introduction for Mulcair at a campaign event in Toronto last month.

Along with the usual suspects.

  1. “adopting a new “iron law” of energy development: “If you wouldn’t want it in your backyard, then it doesn’t belong in anyone’s backyard,” to be applied equally to pipelines, fracking, increased oil tanker traffic and Canadian-owned mining projects abroad.”
I’ll pick any or all from “pipelines, fracking, increased oil tanker traffic” versus bird blenders.

  2. The “leap manifesto”.
This reminds me of “The Great Leap Forward” in Communist China from 1958-1961.
Even according to Wikipedia (of all sources), “[c]ritics claim the Great Leap ended in catastrophe, resulting in tens of millions of deaths.”
The ultimate consequences of leftist thinking and behaviour are death.

  3. This hidden agenda should be the biggest issue of the election campaign and the NDP should sink like a rock in the polls once the news gets out. But their enablers in the media will make sure the story disappears in the 24 hour news cycle.

  4. The economic engine of the low carbon “sectors”:
“and low-carbon sectors of the economy, like caregiving, teaching, social work, the arts and public-interest media, flourish.”

  5. “The leap manifesto …”
Where have we heard of such a move before … oh yeah, The Great Leap Backward in the Maoist utopia, leading to the greatest famine in human history.
Well, that would take care of the over-population and obesity problems created by the free enterprize system.

  6. ..and this comes out just as Tommie C announces 100 million for mental health. We’ll need more than that if he’s elected PM.

  7. Every piece of farm equipment runs on diesel.
no diesel == no food! simple as that!
these greenies think glo bull warming is going to kill them.
They need to give their head a shake and realise that no food is going to kill them faster than glo bull warming ever will!
wouldn’t hurt if they start thinking of how their going to stay warm as well!

  11. For more about the well known NDP hidden agenda, read up on the policies at socialistinternational.org Tommy Two-Face and his band of rebels are full members of this ‘reality’ based global organization, as they seek che-che-che-changes on their way to Occupy Parliament.

  12. Shine the light on these skunks and watch them scatter.
The CPC have to emphasize the financial fallout of a Dipper majority or minority government. Albertans are fleeing their province to BC and Sask. Big influx of AB
plates into our small BC town.

  13. I can’t believe they actually called it the Leap. Who was the genius who said, “Yes, let’s reference one of the greatest mass exterminations ever carried out by humanity. That will be a great selling feature!”

  14. This is the green shaft moment for the libdippers. Mark my words this week was the moment when it all went horribly wrong for the libdipper campaign.

  15. Mulcair will try to laugh this off. Good luck to him. The Grits and Tories are going to have at it with him real good at Friday’s debate, where Mulcair can give Canadians the details of his carbon pricing policies while trying to distance himself from the socialist muses who have just outed his statist party.
The best part is these fools think Canadians believe this claptrap about transforming capitalism; no, but they see it for the statist tax grab it is. Did they ever wonder why Mulcair has been so vague on energy taxation policy? Anybody who believes the green economy will transform capitalism can’t do math. Green economies can’t survive without capitalist backup.
This puts a wrench in Mulcair’s stealth tax plan, piggy backing on lower gas prices and appropriating surpluses. His costing plan comes out 17 Sep, the same day as the next debate. Great timing for the Tories who have had a good start to the week with Trudeau’s inane the surplus caused the “recession” comments.
Perhaps Mulcair can try to argue Mr Obama was able to fend off his watermelon advocates. How did that go for America, given his anti-pipeline rhetoric. Too bad for Mulcair their Canadian versions are presently in Edmonton setting the stage for the new, and poorer but socially just green economy, returning from their attached-posting along with the triumphant return to Ottawa of PM Mulcair.
I can’t wait for the mediocracy’s attempted suppression of this. The CPC must be writing their new attack ads as we speak, surely melding Avi’s & his dad’s words into the NDP platform. Then they’ll howl real good along with threat of copyright lawsuits, new false narratives and choking back of tears.
The NDP played fast and loose with the facts in their still ongoing attempt to smear Minister Alexander. Now is the Tories’ turn. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

  16. Some people actually have no choices available in this election. If you don’t want communism, globalism, anarchy, authoritarian crypto-fascism, naive denial of reality or wing-ding stupidity, (or Quebec independence, although I want that even though not living there), then you are plain out of luck.
C-51 remains a very problematic issue. Maybe some of you party loyalist types can talk some sense into your national leadership and get the policy revised. People make mistakes, this was a big one. Of course the alternatives are worse, but this is too big a deal to hide under the rug.
And if you plan on flaming me, I won’t be reading it so let loose, might be your last chance anyway. You’ll have many more pressing concerns if a Liberal government starts using C-51.

  17. Back in the 1960’s our Best Premier Ever,W.A.C Bennett, used to roar from the hustings,”and always remember my friends, that a vote for the NDP is a vote for communism”!
We laughed and thought he was way over the top, “those Dippers are kindly socialists, only wanting a fair shake for the little guy”.
He was dead right, and even more so today as the NDP was completely hijacked by the communists after Tommy Douglas left the planet. Yes,there are still some “moderate” socialists in the mix,and the Party loves to present that face to a naive public, but the deep roots of the NDP are radical communists who will bring their rotten, corrupt, dehumanizing agenda to fruition if ever we Canadians are stupid enough to hand them the reins of power with the Federal Government.
Justin Trudeau may be a vacuous idiot, but he’s far less harmful to this Country than the communist bastards who disguise themselves as Scandinavian type socialists to our increasingly un-skeptical voters.
Maybe this MSM article will make some undecided Canadians think about who they are really voting for if they vote NDP.

  18. This manifesto’s stupensity (stupidity density) is immense, a veritable neutron star of bad ideas.

  19. I firmly believe that any person who thinks this manifesto is a good idea, or that signed it should be forced to live in rural North Korea without the knowledge of anyone in Pyongyang.
They want it, they should learn and understand what they are asking for.

  20. Reading this manifesto, one would never guess that they are talking about one of best countries in the world to live, where democracy, freedom, and prosperity flow like Okanagan wine.
It sounds more like Nazi Germany, especially when they get to the “crimes against humanity” part.
I think this says something about the psychology of the authors and signatories.

  21. Well said Don, and everybody else. Not much to add.
I thought my family left that communist filth behind, but now it rears its ugly head here.

  22. Donald Sutherland and Neil Young are so eager to destroy our Country while they live in luxury in the U.S. I’m shocked this came out on CTV Liberal-vision but I guess it is another way to prop up their boy Trudeau.

  24. The lemmings got their ‘leap’ covered by the Globe.
The readers’ comments are just slaughtering these one percenter foreign hypocrites and their fuzzy but dangerous thinking.

  25. Mulcare is a self-serving career politician, He is a political opportunist who took the Dipper leadership because no other party would have such an intemperate boob – he has totally neglected building his caucus from the floor up to ensure they are a skilled professional machine ready for running the nation – that makes him a poor leader and lazy as well.
The man and his caucus are a walking monument to mediocrity and the pursuit of the lowest common social denominator.
That said, he is still less dangerous than the vacant narcissist and the band of insider patronage vampires who populate the LPC – or the pixilated drone who rides the green trough guzzlers.

  26. Brought to you by the Committee to Re-elect Stephen Harper.
If I were Mulcair I would want to strangle Klein, since many voters will see this as an unveiling of the NDP’s secret agenda.

  27. Great find re the Monckton video Bluetech. He called it spot on, and lo and behold that is exactly what happened and what may well happen in Canada.
One wonders what has been offered those in the media to support the movement to sellout Canada’s sovereignty, and her present and future generations into serfdom.
    Because that is the endgame.

  28. Bluetech – an amazing prediction, given Tony Abbott’s ouster this week. I hope to hell Harper hangs on – no – beats the crap out of the two leftards he’s up against. If not, we are truly screwed.

  29. The one fly in this ointment is mulcair. He is not and never has been an ndp insider. He won the leadership after Taliban Jack pegged out but he is not trusted by the ndp ‘tall foreheads’.
ed broadbent, stephen lewis, these types who run the party mistrust mulcair and endorsed brian top in the leadership contest. They underestimated mulcair. topp landed a sinecure here in Alberta working for notley.
The ndp ‘intelligentsia’ cant control him and they know it. He’s not one of them. Ya think they like it when he quotes Thatcher? They must want to throw up.
In the end he is a dangerous opportunist who is out for only tom mulcair. He will use Canada in whatever way suits him. He is just another Frenchman from quebek.

  30. Unfortunately, that’s not PMSH’s strategy, he’s trying his hardest to be “Uncle Steve”. Yeah, I want him to “go postal” on The troika from the left, figuratively speaking of course.
    We can dream…

  31. All he needs to do is quote Rachel Notley and point out to Canadians: “From Tom’s mouth to hers. That’s your future, Canada”. Then do the same for Trudeau…. from Wynne’s mouth to his. Then point out to Ontarioans that Wynne is really not going to go the full provincial term, she’s got plans: once she’s done wrecking your province she’s going for broke – leader of the LPOC. Seeya, SP.
I doubt that Harper will do that. I’m getting the sneaky feeling that the Cons want to lose this one.

  32. Lets go ‘Full On’ with this mess. Hows about we return the land to it’s original state, complete with deer antelope and Buffalo and gophers – lots of gophers. No more chemicals. No more fertilizers. No more diesel run equipment to till and seed and harvest. We can tear up the roads, release the water from the dams – just return the land to what it once was. Sounds like fun, eh! I’m sure the folks in Toronto are all in.

  33. George:
You are Correct re farm equipment, but more importantly, 99% of food delivered to the urban enclaves these people live in arrives by truck. To believe that in a few decades quality food will be produced and delivered to upscale Toronto stores without burning any diesel fuel is utter fantasy. The food will be produced by Electric Tractor?, Horse power?. Shipped by trains using no fuel oil? Or delivered by peasants pushing hand carts?
A moratorium on diesel and gasoline would result in Toronto running short of food in about 2 weeks. After that, violent
competition among residents for any remaining stocks could be expected. The people writing and signing this manifesto are among the very least equipped to deal with such a situation.

  34. Bu.. bu.. b..but these guys are soooo very much smarter than the old guys who tried to do these things and failed. What could possibly go wrong?

  35. Speaking of the Naomi Klein-chaired panel disgustion: The sordid bunch circling like vultures, giddy and salivating over the anticipation of fresh carrion from the enraptured dodos. What a collection of goons. It wouldn’t have looked much different when the Bolsheviks were preparing for their imminent pillaging. Just seize it all and we’ll own the spoils. I’m surprised they managed to suppress the Arrrrrr. So many barf-worthy personalities. Has anybody heard of “Environmental Racism” before this. Black Lives Matter rep mentioned it at about 51 min 30 sec. And ewww! slimy Clayton Ruby. Yikes. Hell hath nothing to compare with this meeting of Progressives. Ugly on a stick.

  36. Well, looks like Naomi and others have given us our marching orders. No doubt they will whine and complain we didn’t take their advice to reach the promised land. This is where Trudeau would point out how great China is because their government can turn things on a dime.
Think that they should check what the sea otter on our west coast has to say about 1st nation stewardship of the environment or the band that just signed a deal to process and ship LNG in Saanich inlet because they are open for business.
The list of people signing this is an impressive list of not impressive folk on the subject this document applies to. Naomi Klein, the Justin Belieber of political thought and both from Canada.

  37. “The people writing and signing this manifesto are among the very least equipped to deal with such a situation.”
I can’t wait to see Margaret Atwood and her ilk fighting with the seagulls for a piece of rotten fish on Ward Island. The great Annex starvation of 2035!
