    You can buy a 3’x5′ USSR flag for $15 under which some 70 million were liquidated.
    You can buy a 3’x5′ Chinese communist flag for $10 under which some 100 million were liquidated.
    US Civil War Total estimated 625,000–850,000 dead and at least they had rifles to defend themselves.
    The communists didn’t give their civil population the ‘luxury’ of defending themselves.
    But hey it’s hard to figure out priorities…

  4. I am guessing that nearly 250,000 soldiers, sailors and airmen were killed by the racist, swastika wearing Nazis during WW2. I cannot remember a opportunistic political tsunami to rip swastikas off of the law-abiding Hell’s Angels. Could it be political posturing to keep the black Democratic vote up around 90%? If I were a black I would be far more concerned about the unemployment rate for blacks being about twice what it is for the rest of Americans. But hey, that is just me.

  5. WaPo author is a fool. Germany banned the swastika flag and all the other Nazi regalia because National Socialism was a hateful ideology, and were not directly representative of German nationality. The Japanese flag long predated the regime of Hideki Tojo.
    And the Soviet flag and the Chinese communist flag? Well, the soviet flag sort of fell out of use when the Soviet Union split up. Russia flies the old Russian tricolor now. And China I think still uses the Communist flag, even though their system has morphed into a sort of corporatist fascism. They still call themselves Communist.

  6. I cannot see why the former Confederate states are not doing everything they can to extricate themselves from the stinking mess into which Lincoln and the military skills of Grant and Sherman propelled them.
    Everything they feared has come true or is in the process of coming true.

  11. Enough already with the Confederate flag nonsense.
    It’s worth remembering that, on a legal technicality, the US was a slave state longer than the Confederacy was: the 13th Amendment did not officially become a part of the US Constitution until 18 December 1865.

  16. Let’s ban everything. Then the collectivists can replace all symbols, slogans and flags with their own, so we can “all be a part of government.” No wait, they already do that.
