The CFL teams are now done the final cuts.
I’ve been let go a couple of times in my life. Cut, fired, laid-off, let go, it’s all the same, none of it feels all that good.
This is what Luc Mullinder says it’s like.
But, on to the season! Week One starts on Thursday.

Oh well, a good chance to go get a real job, or business, and do something productive.
Bunch of parasites who expect everyone to contribute to building their facilities in which to play a child’s game.
Small interesting tidbit. There’s a list of all the CFL players twitter accounts for reporters to use. They call it the “god list” because that’s all they talk about.
…and stradivarious exhibits a deficiency in understanding humanity.
Bread and Circus’s.
Understanding and enabling are two different things.
Thanks lance.
I am an American that enjoys Canadian Football.
Many of our great players from small colleges here in America are able to move on,
compete in a professional sport that is not controlled by the strings of the NFL.
Maybe someday Canada can challenge the NFL to a World Championship that would truly be part of a World competition.
Tiger Cats 14-
Dallas Cowboys 12.
Gee ya don’t think being 0 for 2 in the preseason had anything to do with the cuts do ya. Hope things go better in the reg season for the Riders. Still looks like Calgary again this year.
Well Lance, any predictions for how the west will end up?
My thoughts: Edmonton is hungry, if their QB can stay healthy they will challenge Calgary for first place. May even take it. BC and Sask. will fight it out for third with Sask. getting the cross over. The BBs didn’t make enough moves to move up the list, but should be better than last year.
Hamilton out of the east meeting Calgary or Edmonton in the cup. Toss a coin on who gets the cup, but my gut says Hamilton.
Of course, some on this board will believe Riders will go undefeated for the season and win the cup.
Looking forward to a great season, And… Go Stamps Go.
Hey Strad: We are talking about The CFL, not the NHL
Ok I’ll take the bait.
3 down or 4 down football? If the Tiger Cats played Dallas using NFL rules it would be 60-0 at the half Cowboys. CFL rules with the extra man, wider field, different ball, end zone size, kicking game etc would make it somewhat more competitive. Make no mistake about it the NFL athlete is far superior to what we have in the CFL.
3 down CFL football is a completely different game from what is played in the NFL.
Reason for the cuts? The Riders had 70some players on their roster and had to get down to the league mandated 46.
Of course their pre-season record played a part, but so did their training camp performances, as well as configuring an I/NI balance, aging veterans vs promising rookies, coachs’ preferences and a host of other factors.
It’ll be an interesting season. Can hardly wait.
Can we change the name of Ti-Cats stadium to Coffee Time Field?
They make a mean Ice Cap.
Circus time. Go Roughriders!
Time to stock up on Lake of the Woods Golden.
I agree.
The CFL is a very entertaining game. The NFL does have the better players, but not ‘pound for pound’.
If the NFL switched to the CFL rules, they would have a product that would be hard to beat anywhere in the sports world.
