I really wonder if there is any department in the US government that has not be corrupted and debased by the Obama administration?
Almost everyone in leadership positions in the U.S. national political class, and by “political class” I mean not just the politicians, but all of the henchmen, courtiers, cronies, staff members, hangers-on, consultants, and influence peddlers circling the porcelain in the U.S. Federal Government – the campaign managers, the pundits, the conductors of political polls, the CEOs of connected corporations, the decision makers in major media, the writers and reviewers of legislation – nearly all of them, at least those who were educated in the U.S., attended the same fifty or so colleges and universities. Democrats, Republicans, and others sat in the same classrooms and listened to the same professors say the same things. Their vanity was appealed to. They were told that they were the best and the brightest, that they were destined to be the leaders of tomorrow, that they would shape the future of the U.S. and, thus, the future of the world. Implicitly and explicitly they were told that they are so special and so important that they should have complete freedom of action to forge a more perfect society. They are the ones that they’ve been waiting for and they should ignore any silly a priori constraints such as those which are found in the U.S. Constitution.
To put it more succinctly, the U.S. national political class has been conquered by an alien political philosophy. It is educationally conditioned to internalize the political philosophy of continental Europe, the same philosophy that has produced both today’s welfare state socialism of Western Europe and the murderous European despotisms of the twentieth century. Anyone who speaks in a serious way about Constitutionalism is viewed either as naive and dismissed as beneath consideration or is assumed to be running some cynical ploy to manipulate the electorate. Citizens who have not attended the fifty or so “elite” universities are not among the best and the brightest, they are not part of the vanguard of the new, more perfect society and should know their place. Their role is not to shape the future, but to occupy it and be reverent towards its architects.
Unfortunately, there are more than 4,500 colleges and universities in the U.S. and the graduates and attendees of these “lesser” institutions as well as the many talented, ambitious, and accomplished people who have never attended college were never told that they are not among the best and the brightest, that they are destined to be second-class citizens.
Thus, when the “elites” and the “non-elites” encounter one another, confusion reigns. The elites are at first dumbfounded and later made angry by the unwillingness of the non-elites to adopt a subservient posture to their obvious superiors and the non-elites are at first puzzled by and later offended by the arrogance and presumptions of the elites.
My tl;dr is all directed toward this punchline: members of the political class, regardless of partisan affiliation, heartily approve of the use of the IRS and other government agencies to suppress political opposition arising from a desire by citizens for real representation of their views. There is no select committee seizing evidence and ripping into the guts of the IRS to find out what was and is going on because very few people in the political class want the IRS targeting to end. The peasants must be made to know their place.

Ain’t it funny how leftists politicians and operatives keep “accidentally erasing” their emails.
I guess math isn’t the only thing that’s hard for them. Too bad their intellectual superiority doesn’t apparently extend to managing email accounts, and seem to “accidentally erase” email files, all back ups everywhere including other databases, all with alarming frequency.
It takes a lot to “accidentally erase” that much don’t you think?

and NSA is one of their tools used to subvert. As the NSA was around since 1952, and hated JFK, they have never spoke about what actually happened that day. And that is a fine example of that of which you speak
I was unaware that the NSA had a special hate for JFK. JFK certainly had the educational pedigree to be accepted by those on the commanding heights, but he was Catholic and his family was nouveau riche, neither of which are barriers today, but which were in JFK’s day.
To his credit, JFK recognized just how evil Marxism is. The political class of today may not be entirely populated by Marxists, but it is certainly sympathetic to policies which undermine U.S. sovereignty and U.S. culture. A culture is largely defined by that which is considered virtue and that which is considered vice. The culture of the political class is wildly different from that of the general population and the political class is seeking to change that by imposing its culture on the rest of society.
I’m not sure people fully understand that the ideological conquest of the American political class is resulting in societal changes that are every bit as profound as if the U.S. had been militarily conquered. The ideologues representing the conquest are now demanding that the rest of society, in effect, swear fealty to the New Order.
