Max has identified the money quote. That Liberals are “shocked” speaks loudly about two things:
1) they should have seen this coming, given the Tories’ long dislike of the MSM, particularly the Ottawa parliamentary bureau.
2) so much for their plans for a debate organization possibly friendly to Trudeau and allowing a format which would conceal any potential or actual weaknesses.
DanBC is right; the sight of Milewski hyperventilating alone is worth the price of admission.
The LIV’s commenting at G&M are having a fit expressing their delusions about the purpose of the ‘mediaconsortium’ and ignoring the fact that 5 debates will take place. Any comment that does not diss PMSH gets the thumbs down.

A lot of the G&M commenters , as well as the CBC, react instinctively to any article that is about the Conservatives and/or the PM.
It is Pavlovian. They see the name, the drool starts and they furiously type away with their snot-encrusted fingers.
Maybe the Canadian Conservatives have learned from the biased moderator screwings that Conservatives have gotten at the hands of the librul/socialist media in the United States. I always knew that our Canadian cousins were many ways smarter than U.S. politicians. Hey, you US Conservatives. Wake up! You can learn something from this. This can be a teachable moment. In modern times int he US, the debates were started to get Kennedy elected. They worked very well for that with the camera tricks, etc. They are not traditional.
Actually methinks this time around it’s the Media Party adapting. Last time around the Evil Harper Machine didn’t behave as expected (the interview at centre ice springs to mind).. to the extent that the libleft cranks were calling for Peter Mansbridge to resign. Good times…

when is a debate not a debate? when there are more than two people presenting different views on a subject and questions are being asked by so called moderators. that is not a debate.
