Soft Student Brains

Bill Whittle on 16-year-olds and voting:

Teen voters, the younger the better, are exactly what the left is looking for. They know no history; they base all of their decisions on emotion; they have no real world experience in terms of what works and what does not. They haven’t the slightest idea of discipline or delayed gratification. They live in a world of fantasy and wish fulfilment; they make demands that cannot be met but they’re willing to settle for an ice-cream cone. They are utterly dependent on others; they’re desperate to conform to the cultural norm, and in general they are the perfect, pliable, ignorant, utterly emotional, reason-free, easily-manipulated vote farm that the progressives need for their power grab.

One of these.

Ontario: old Huron word meaning, “land of teenagers”.

  2. The left political establishment HATES democracy – well the responsible, empowered and informed voter part of it anyway -and they have been working schemes to undermine responsible government and informed consent in western free democracies ever since Engles and Karl decided to market the big lie.
Of course all forms of collectivist state despotism depend upon stealing a nation’s children and replacing the joy and innocence of youth with fanatic political indoctrinating – the left creates and is maintained by robots (Mao,Hitler,Stalin and red aristocracy knew this)
A child who is not politically socialized, who is raised to prise his freedom, independence of thought and action and the institutions which support free will makes a poor collectivist robot – and a robot can no more make its own informed decision than a chicken can create a symphony. Robots are programmed and do only what they are programmed to do they do not “think” as such let alone think critically – they are the ideal socialist/communist/collectivist citizen-slave. A socialist citizen is created to serve the state – reflexive unthinking sacrifice for the big lie – a drone bee (Early Fabian socialist logos included bee hives for this reason) – fanatical self sacrifice is against human nature so indoctrinating/conditioning is needed.
Public schools and Universities have been undermined by the leftist social engineering vanguard to become robot factories. The socialist oligarchy is now ready to take advantage of the generations of robotic indoctrinates it has created – thus the talk of Primary school children voting.

  3. I was a leftist for about an hour when I was a teenager.
Said to my dad “what’s wrong with that – make the rich pay?”
    He said “Do the math.”
I did, and found that to pay for everything promised, “making the rich pay” would involve socking it to everyone who made more than minimum wage.
    Been conservative ever since.

  4. Under the argument that true sustainability requires an end to social oppression, the report says, the movement embraces identity politics, calls for the overthrow of patriarchal systems and misogynist bias, the virtual elimination of extraction of energy from fossil fuels, an end to industrial development in the underdeveloped world and a return to subsistence or near subsistence standards of living. The need to overthrow capitalism, though not supported by all, is a common
So they are with or against Islamists?

  5. Well unless they’re a Third World immigrant teen struggling for a better life across the Rio Grande – Everyone knows they’re smarter, more mature and far less racist than white kids, so they should have twice the voting power.

  6. Raised my boy to be conservative. Respect others, work hard, get a trade ticket. All was well…until he fell for a girl from Nova Scotia. Land of socialism. He then moved to BC and has swung wildly to the left. Involved heavily with the union. Now he can’t even be bothered to call his mother or send a birthday card. Really sad.

  7. The youth of today too bisy cuaght up in such idiotic idead like ANIMAL RIGHTS,ENVIROMENTALISM,REVIONISTS HISTORY and LIBERALISM and too stupid to be able to reconise a historical figure becuase they cant reconise anyone that didnt appear on episodes of THE SIMPSONS or SOUTH PARK

  8. Much the same here. Your dad and mine thought the same.
From the comments to David’s piece, “True sustainability” requires complete and ruthless social oppression. Just another variation “making the new Soviet man”.
Occam, very well said. The hope that we have is that, just as the Russian people saw through the Marxist socialist fraud and it mostly collapsed, our people will eventually also see through the fraud. There might well have to be some pain first.

  9. In England, didn’t you have to be a landowner or own a business in order to vote? You know, ‘have a dog in the fight’, rather than being able to decide what to do with other people’s money?

  10. In America, too – in its early years. Also, the republics of ancient Greece.
Republics fail when you hand everyone the ability to vote. Before anyone starts screaming about equality, it *should* be equal – everyone with a minimum amount of means should have the ability to vote.
If you’re on welfare, food stamps, etc. – sorry to hear it, but taking handouts from taxpayers should automatically disqualify you from voting until those handouts stop.
At this point, it’s probably the only way to end the runaway growth of socialism in the country.

  11. That was a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, long before the Liberals ever gained power and granted criminals in jail the right to vote. Sadly I miss those days when those who were allowed to vote had to prove that they were “contributing” members of society, or as you comment “had a horse in the race or a dog in the fight”. Now watch the trolls get all over me for that quote.

  12. “just as the Russian people saw through the Marxist socialist fraud and it mostly collapsed”
Not true one little bit. No, they didn’t and no, it didn’t.
Have you been seeing the pictures of Russian crowds waving the Soviet flag since the Russian invasion of Ukraine?
Putin’s fascism isn’t Leninism, but it’s every bit as Marxist socialist.
The Russian have people never had the experience of what it means to live in a liberal democracy.
They have no reference point from which to ‘see through’.

  13. correction:
The Russian people have never had the experience of what it means to live in a liberal democracy.

  14. I wondered that myself. No voting allowed for criminals or those on social assistance. Rights are to be EARNED not expected.

  15. Demacrats blocking the military from voting but allowing crinimals to vote SHOOT THE JACKASS AT DAWN

  16. I made no suggestion as to what the Russians replaced the Soviets with and yes, they did see through the Marxist fraud as no one believed in it the last few decades and had a book full of jokes describing the fallacies. Even the KGB saw through the socialist fraud and and many of the leaders positioned themselves to take advantage of the collapse. I have many relatives now living in Germany that have described the last few decades of the Soviet system.
Yes, I have seen the Putin paid for rent a “crowds” supporting the invasion of Ukraine and have read some of the comments of the hired Putinista internet trolls that frequent western media outlets.
They did have liberal democracy for about six months in 1917 until the Bolo coup replaced it. While what they have now is nowhere near the democracy we have here, it is the best they have had since 1917, and for ever in fact. There is political and media opposition to Putin until it becomes too prominent and then gets assassinated.
Make no mistake, I am not the slightest bit enamored of dictator/mini-tsar/first secretary Putin, but the whole population knew soviet socialism was a joke.
We here just have not experienced enough of the fraud to realize it yet.

  17. “They did have liberal democracy for about six months in 1917 until the Bolo coup replaced it. While what they have now is nowhere near the democracy we have here, it is the best they have had since 1917, and for ever in fact.”
Six months? And what economic and social changes could possibly be implemented in that time?
In May 1990, Putin was appointed as an advisor on international affairs to Mayor Anatoly Sobchak. On 28 June 1991, he became head of the Committee for External Relations of the Saint Petersburg Mayor’s Office, with responsibility for promoting international relations and foreign investments. That Committee headed by Putin also registered business ventures.
Less than one year later, Putin was investigated by the city legislative council, and the investigators concluded that Putin had understated prices and permitted the export of metals valued at $93 million, in exchange for foreign food aid that never arrived.
Despite the investigators’ recommendation that Putin be fired, Putin remained head of the Committee for External Relations until 1996.
On 26 March 1997, President Boris Yeltsin appointed Putin deputy chief of Presidential Staff, which he remained until May 1998, and chief of the Main Control Directorate of the Presidential Property Management Department (until June 1998).
On 9 August 1999, Vladimir Putin was appointed one of three First Deputy Prime Ministers, and later on that day was appointed acting Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation by President Boris Yeltsin.
    THREE MONTHS LATER
On 31 December 1999, Yeltsin unexpectedly resigned and, according to the Constitution of Russia, Putin became Acting President of the Russian Federation.
Vladimir Putin has been the de facto Russian dictator ever since, poisoning and shooting his critics, and has a reputed net worth of over $40 Billion USD. He is the god father of a Russian Mafia State.
Those Russians that can ‘see through’ facades better start opening their eyes.
Or maybe they just what to keep on living.

  18. “Liberals ever gained power and granted criminals in jail the right to vote” Antenor
It is only 3 states that allow criminals the right to vote! I believe that is only for State Issues VT,CA, ?
The recent Senate budget, that was passed, rejected a proposal by Sanders VT.. that would fund a Judicial watch group that would advise defendants that plea-bargains impact voting rights.
The Marxists are a long ways from their goal!

  19. (youth) “are utterly dependent on others; they’re desperate to conform to the cultural norm, and in general they are the perfect, pliable, ignorant, utterly emotional, reason-free, easily-manipulated vote farm that the progressives need for their power grab.”
The problem for leftists is the “youth” can’t/won’t arrange a trip to the polling station notwithstanding their political attention span generally equating to that of a dying slug. Trudeau or Mulcair or any other “progressive” isn’t going to change that.
My daughter votes NDP even though I raised her to be a conservative because the intelligentsia raised her to be a socialist; I’m working on that – but at least she votes, likely the only one of her social network that does so.
