Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Where is the empty chair in this picture?
Speaking of which, I’m kinda surprised Harper hasn’t gotten any grief for not attending. Not that I think he should have gone, it just seems odd that none of the lefty media have given him flack over it.
He sent a Minister.
He was in Canada nation building for our first Prime Minister’s 200th birthday.
A once in a lifetime opportunity to instill pride in Canadians.
Phony hash tags and insincere French ‘freedom of speech’ marches are available daily.
Exactly the type of thing Obama loves except when it’s against his Islamic mentors.
Support for the surrender monkeys is a mile wide, but an inch deep. This is a cartoon, but it’s a scary one.
As always Ezra does a superb job of exposing the hypocrisy in the world. In any case, the march was not a solidarity march, it looked more like a European death march to me.
Consider this quote from the French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius last week:
“The terrorists’ religion is not Islam, which they are betraying.”
What a truly extraordinary and uninformed thing to say. But it is also not surprising. If that is the official view of the government, then the French might as well just hand the keys to the Muslims and get it over with.
doowleb and ofaycat, excellent comments.
Obaa would have gone himself bit interfered with his golf scedual so he sent Eric the Dread(Holder)the terrorists supporter
The photo of world leaders is political satire. They were not even part of the actual demonstration.
Literally, President Hollande seeing a large popular demonstration in the making runs out in front to pretend he is leading it.
The news media covered that up to make the French government appear to be doing something.
By rejecting the request of the President of Israel to attend, by inviting the leader of the P.L.O., an Islamist terrorist organization Mahmoud Abbas, and by
preventing the most popular party leader in France, Marine Le Pen from attending,
President Hollande indicated there will be no change in government policy, no opposition to the Islamization of France.
The wife of Charlie Charbonneau, who was the first target of the assassinations at the Charlie Hebdo office, blamed the government for not protecting him and the magazine. Unarmed police being shot in front of the office confirms that.
The Jews are leaving Paris because the government is allowing the Islamization to continue and failing to protect the 500,000 Jews there. That is why so many of them are leaving France.
He’s sent thousands of troops to protect Jewish areas and businesses because the international media spotlight is on France. That is temporary. French governments has allowed anti-Semitism to grow hoping in doing so the he’ll get the Muslim vote. It worked. They did vote for Hollande and the Socialist.
He won’t risk offending any of them to save the Republic of France.
JE SUIS CHARLES MARTEL
Call it “soft power” or “leading from behind”.
If world leaders have to preface their supposed outrage with the standard roll-out bromides of “this is just a small minority” and “of course islam is peaceful”, then the head-hacking stone age barbarians WILL win…..if they haven’t already.
Only a matter of time before governments actually start paying these demons to behave. (Dhimmi tax anyone?) If they don’t send the armed forces into the 751 “no go zones” in France, they will have nothing left to do but capitulate.
Witness the spray paint vandalism recently to a mosque in Edmonton. This story has been immediately following updates from France over the past few days….as if the two stories are equal. What a cowardly, pantywaist media.
Typical of a pampered westerner. Ignoring his slashed throat, hoping not to drip any blood on the mosque prayer rugs for fear of upsetting any religious sensitivities. Perhaps western culture has run it’s course. I ache for my son and future grandchildren. Perhaps they will be capable of summoning the testicular fortitude to stamp out this evil once and for all.
If Israel were to launch two missiles, one striking Mecca, the other Medina, we’d finally see middle east peace. To be honest, I’d be in favor of such a strike, to use lib-speak, “for the greater good”. Fat Man and Little Boy redux. If it was fully justifiable to end WWII, why not do the same to the land of the pedophile profit? And for the same reason the two Japanese cities were turned into cinder, think of the millions of lives that will be saved in beating back that blood thirsty cult masked as a religion.
Sad commentary on humanity that we bend over backwards not to offend evil doers. Yet we will continue to try and please our enemies. Hey, if we bend over and spread wide enough, they might like us of Facebook. Can never have too many likes.
God help us.
My guess all along was that PMSH skipped the ‘march’ since he knew it was all about optics and the ‘narrative’…seems I was right.
“… it looked more like a European death march to me.”
Short of civil war breaking out to arrest the Islamization of Europe, this is what it is. Queen Isabella, where are you when we need you?
Eskimo, ” I ache for my son and future grandchildren.” As I do for my three daughters and son and their families. I asked my wife the day after the shootings in Paris, why did we have children?
God help us is right? The politicians sure as h aren’t. D**m Neville Chamberlains are giving us to them on a platter bit by bit. A Sharia law here, a Sharia law there, a no-go zone here, a no-go zone there.
Wow. This photo is as unsettling as one I saw a couple of years ago, of a starving woman lying on desert sand, very near death, while the Vulture Media crowded around her, straining to get the best camera angle. Is everything contrived now?
The video was worth watching for the point that the Islamophobes are the people scared to offend Islam. That’s a rhetorical keeper.
My Dad told me that in WWII he along with all other Canadian soldiers, were told never to talk to any French citizens while they were in France. This was because there was no way to tell who they could trust.
It has always been thus.
BTW, this was never said to our soldiers when they entered the Netherlands.
Enough said.
Obama didn’t go and they didn’t want to criticize him of course. Canadian MSM hasn’t had as much criticism of Obama as most certainly the American MSM has — even CNN. Had Bush and PMSH been in power at the same time, things would’ve lined up perfectly for the MSM here. One can only imagine the narratives spun had that been the case.
“…By rejecting the request of the President of Israel to attend, by inviting the leader of the P.L.O., an Islamist terrorist organization Mahmoud Abbas, and by
preventing the most popular party leader in France, Marine Le Pen from attending,
President Hollande indicated …”
It was the Prime Minister of Israel who was told to stay away.
PM Netanyahu should not have crashed that “march” of world leaders. He should have showed up at the real one that the photo opportunists were afraid to attend with the ordinary citizenry. And Marine Le Pen should have suggested it to him and been there to be seen with him and the actual voters.
“… Is everything contrived now?”
Almost everything, and of the little that is not most will not be reported accurately by the media, if it is reported at all.

It would have been more appropriate for the politicians to follow the crowd. They’re not leaders, they’re weathervanes that point whichever way the wind blows at the moment.
Appearance always trumps sincerity and honesty…..ask any politician, spin doctor or PR man.
Thanks to a photographer and Ezra we plebes just got to see this one.
Ya don’t suppose that was “The Muslim Quarter” they marched in, eh?
Now THAT would have made a pretty unambiguous statement.
I do not support the publication of material deliberately designed to offend people’s religious sensibilities. Perhaps I should rapidly add that I do not support censorship of such material nor the murder of those responsible for it. But neither can I accept the elevation of such material to the summit of Western civilization. To hear our politicians talk you would think that the crude baiting of the most intimate part of Muslims’ religion is the end point to which Western culture has been evolving for two millennia. Never mind the fact that Nick Griffin was put on trial, and wholly condemned by all mainstream politicians, for saying things relatively mild in comparison to the case of Charlie Hebdo. The hypocrisy is stark but not in the least surprising. But this is the difference between Left-wing freedom of speech and Right-wing freedom of speech. They will never make an explicit distinction but it is there whenever you look for it.
Some have suggested that the cartoonists at Charlie Hebdo should be admired for their courage and I would agree with this. Their actions seemed designed to provoke Muslims and they knew that this was a dangerous path to tread. They certainly showed bravery in this regard. But the most admirable quality is courage combined with wisdom, and Charlie Hebdo was certainly lacking in the latter quality. Their sense of radicalism consists of a hollow “fuck you” gesture aimed at an establishment that withered away sometime soon after ’68. It is the radicalism of the Monty Python generation, forever patting itself on the back for an iconoclasm that was already dated some years ago.
The leftists and multiculturalists who are now so determined to protect bourgeois values such as “the freedom to offend” turned their backs on the working class youth of Europe a long time ago. Their priorities are now clear to see. Rather than engage with the difficult task of building a future for their youth they prefer to play silly and irresponsible games, throwing around their sole Voltaire quote in a pique of self-righteous narcissism. It all has less to do with noble ideas of freedom than with the self-indulgence of a bored elite. The working class youth of Europe have more urgent issues to deal with, as the case of Rotherham (to give only one example) showed.
I cannot join in the clamor to claim “je suis Charlie” because I think that such a position is schizophrenic. The supporters of free speech support that right for those who advocate multiculturalism, but they support jail and censorship for those who oppose it. And in pursuit of this faux freedom of speech we are all expected to support the puerile rudeness aimed at those whose integration within multiculturalism is proving to be most difficult. It is as though the multiculturalists do not really, deep down, believe in their own rhetoric, and wish to undermine their own project through a petulant, yet repressed, act of childish provocation. It is literally insane. Je ne suis pas Charlie.

Nous sommes Palliwood!
Heh Eski Mo; I wonder if there were cameras that captured the Edmonton ‘vandalism’. A lot of disgruntled Mosque goers, perhaps?
Jamie, exactly right indeed. But in the West were are pansies, and we just assume that the savages will come around to our way of thinking eventually. Indeed we worry that if we marched in their neighbourhood it might offend the poor little darlings. Can’t have that.
I agree 100% with Ezra’s comments. Regarding the pic though, I think we’re being unduly harsh. Did we really expect to have so many world leaders just mingle with the unwashed masses of the authentic march? Please. All it would have taken is one upset muzzie with a meat cleaver to decapitate Netanyahu or Hollandaise and then how stupid the world would have felt. We have to admit the very real risk was there.
From the get-go I wondered is this was an “inside job”. Make more sense than it would be to imagine packs of Jewish gangs roving Edmonton, threatening the gentle, doe-eyed muslim population! I’m sure that’s what the imams have cooked up in their minds! Always the victim.
Just imagine the demographics of a fictional Edmonton Jewish gang…..I’m sure they would live in “no-go” areas of gated communities of nicely kept estate homes with lavish landscaping. A Mercedes in the each of the 3 garage stalls, a handsome investment portfolio and the lowest per capita representation in the correction system.
Evil Jews, yelling “Moses is great” as they pop the tops off the Tremclad and start shaking it up!
Once Justin Trudeau is PM, you can bet the farm that the same Muslims who tried to have Sharia law enacted for Muslims in Ontario during McGuinty’s reign, will be back to demand it again.
This time they will succeed.
Obama has an acute case of Stockholm Syndrome in his complete capitulation to radical islam.
He bowed so far forward to the Saudi king, he probably snuck a peak under his robe.
“PMSH skipped the ‘march’ since he knew it was all about optics and the ‘narrative'”
If this is indeed true and I very much suspect that is the case, it speaks volumes about the Prime Minister’s integrity and common sense. The man definitely has the intestinal fortitude to excuse himself from displays of mindlessness instead of showing up, wasting precious time and maybe picking up a few votes along the way. He is so far ahead of his opponents in leadership qualities that, come election time, it should be nothing more than a contest between the two stooges, Trudeau and Mulcair to see who comes in second.
(the other) James on January 13, 2015 11:41 AM – Harper has not taken heat from the Canadian media because Obama didn’t go to Paris. To criticize Harper would mean that they would have to also indicate that their demi-god should have gone. We can’t have the Obama worshippers actually call him to task. At least Canada sent a cabinet minister, the Americans couldn’t even muster up the Attorney-General who was already in Paris.
Europe. Where they allow Euthanasia, and are considering “abortion” of newborn babies, … But they consider the death sentence barbaric.
Europe, you will now reap the whirlwind …
Meanwhile, brutal killing of 2000 men, women, and children go on in Nigeria unnoticed.
He still thinks they are yelling Alahu Barackbar he’s such a narccissist. It’s all about me.
No thanks Micheal. He starts out by making offensive remarks about my faith, My lord and Saviour, and the miracles of the Holy God of the Bible.
No, I won”t be watching any vids by Young Turks.
I won’t be signing up for a subsscription to Charlie Hebdo either…for the same reason.
But I will defend their right to speak and print that stuff.
See how easy that is?
I think it is a measure of our world “leaders” that they wouldn’t dare get within a mile of any demonstration by their own citizens without crushing amounts of security. That “wide” shot didn’t show you the snipers on the rooftops, the aircraft overhead, or the attack choppers sitting on pads with their blades spun up “in case something might happen”.
This is because they don’t lead the people of free nations. They trick and coerce the people of free nations into becoming progressively less free, and pick our pockets into the bargain. They create situations like the atrocity at Charlie Hebdo, and then try to prove it wasn’t their fault with a cheap photo-op.
And by the way: for all you contemptible curs out there who feel moved to say “Charlie H. was asking for it”, and you know who you are, here’s one to conjure with. “Je Suis Molly Norris.”

“Support for the surrender monkeys is a mile wide, but an inch deep. This is a cartoon, but it’s a scary one.”
Yeah pretty much…..Fwance ain’t whut it usstobe. The no-go zones are exhibit one.
The US has Dereborn MI…..also a no go zone….
Au contraire….
I really enjoyed Cenk’s intelligent rant. He made excellent logic and drove his points home.
I don’t always agree with the “young turk’s” views but so be it….even a stopped clock is correct 2 times a day.
You should watch it…this time…
Yes, he has that sophomoric-kneejerk atheism thing, but I thought his comments re: artificial “faith” among Muslims, and his pointing out that being offended by cartoons is nothing compared to the offense caused by murder, were worth a listen. I understand though.
Cheers sasquatch.
You get my point I hope 🙂
Yes…I will listen to the rest of it…just couldn’t resist the chance to make that point.
I have been around long enough to know that there are a lot of smart people out there with great stuff to say even if they offend me and Jesus.
