The RCMP arrested two men from Ottawa on Friday and charged them with multiple terrorism offences, police said in a news release.
Ashton Carleton Larmond and Carlos Larmond, both 24, have been charged with participation in the activity of a terrorist group.
One and only Ashton looks more like drone fodder than jihadi.

The brother’s a twin. RCMP news release.
CTV Update: With updated jihadi like photos!

That’s stupid. You let them go and wish them bad luck and a stray bullet and you never let them back.
Better yet, warn them that Syria and Iraq are a hotbed of hepatitis infection, and give them each a shot of vaccine unfortunately tainted with Ebolavirus.
John Walker Lindh wannabes.
So they’ll stay here and be safely coddled through our judicial system, eventually set free to terrorize on home turf?
Neext
Hmm, ear stud and no beard? Brother Canucki you line up over there where Mohammed will fit you with a nice suicide belt.
That is great, they caught 2,
but they are like cockroaches, if you get two in the daylight,
Be Advised, there are 400 more under the floorboards.
Liz J…..B.I.N.G.O. And you can bet next 50 years of paychecks on that.
They should have let them go. As we now know, many of these Jihad wannabes arrive at the battlefield then decide that it’s not one big party like they thought it would be. Then when they tell commander achmed they want to go back home they’ll hopefully get their heads chopped off. This way the tax payer wins.
They sure don’t make 24-year-olds like they used to. Or perhaps this is a case of stunted development. I wonder if the parents are proud.
“Foucault” – if your still online – turn yourself in now and it will go a lot easier on you.
There will be no beheading as you would receive under Sharia, and you will even get a tax paid Canadian education in jail.
“…………both 24, have been charged with participation in the activity of a terrorist group.”
Oh goody, “Thought Crimes” have come to Canada.
Sorta like the Hotel California, “you can check-out any time you like , but you can never leave”.
thought crimes…exactly what I thought hen i read the very brief brief….very brief on details it was. Sure it is a matter of national security that we NOT know, but great for us to know that they are on the job and got their “twins”. No Paris happening here, stop worrying and go back to sheep….i meant sleep.
“He has been charged with attempting to leave Canada to participate in terrorist activity abroad”
Here was the quote I meant to highlight – it’s the “charged with attempting to leave Canada” part that gets me.
Otherwise, participating in terrorist activity abroad is a pretty broad claim. Next we’ll find out that they were going to fight ISIS for the Kurds or something akin.
Maybe they were simply trying to go rescue little white Christian children from Muslim sex slavery somewhere – that would qualify as terrorist activity to many in the Lizzy May & JT crowd.
In other words as “the public” we don’t know jack Sh*t about it, except never attempt to leave Canada if your on someones terrorist watch list. Which is a little strange because they have NO ISSUE bringing in as many terrorists as our welfare system can maintain.
Who knows, maybe they were just wanting to check out Bin Laden’s p#rn stash. Doing so in Canada could land them in jail.
There’s nearly no online presence for these guys, which means they either deleted it or they were playing under different identities.
We should send them both packing to IS, without passports, and homing devices for our bombs
Har – the only thing these two could “terrorize” is the porno rack at the Mac’s store. Seriously a couple of net trolls are a national threat?
But then again this is the RCMP who think the flood victims of High River had to be disarmed – maybe they thought they were potential terrorists too.
You want real terrorist you don’t have to leave Montreal
These kinds of charges are not laid in a vacuum. The evidence for them, while slow in coming out, will very likely be compelling.
won’t they be in for a shock when they get to where they’re going and there are no pretty girls in bikinis.or you get stoned for putting a picture of a girl on the wall. No, not that kind of stoned.
Does this punk realize that he’s wearing a toque inside the house?
Imagine the smell of his filthy hair.
The picture posted on the CBC website shows a different viewpoint.
I hate to direct anyone to the CBC, but the picture is interesting.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/ashton-larmond-and-carlos-larmond-appear-in-court-on-terrorism-charges-1.2896382
Weird.. CBC typically posts stuff like grade 5
Christmaswinter holiday concert photos in this situation. Can edits to the CBC style guide be obtained via “access to information” requests?ISIS has a hockey team?
So are any of the Libertarians commenting here willing to bet a $50 donation to SDA on the outcome of this?
I’m willing to bet that they’re both Islamic converts who were on their way to fight for ISIS and not two innocent white boys who were spoofing (or the like) being abused by the state to further its power.
Exactly! As blakbird said, let ’em go,just don’t let ’em back if they live.
I agree, and I expect that these two will be interrogated for a while to discover their radicalization trail. And then that a number more are arrested.
Of course Imam Shiny Pony will want to make Canadian icons out of them.
“Here was the quote I meant to highlight – it’s the “charged with attempting to leave Canada” part that gets me.”
yah, kinda like Ford and the “crack thingy as discussed in here. He was totally innocent until he confessed, and then all the brainiacs in here fell silent while they extracted their foot from their mouths. Maybe you should wait till facts are out before opining, but that appears to be rather difficult for you and some others in here
Knight 99-your kneejerk reaction is representative of the attitude bringing these young? dumb clowns into their messy future. The picture certainly shows naiveness; look at me I am wearing a tuque-haven’t put eyeholes in it yet. This is because I’m not sure if i will be an American “I can’t breathe” civil rights activist and where it is winter or in the much warmer ISIS as a Terrorist.
I will have to take my scantily glad woman picture off the wall and stick it up on the sand dune after my Brother tells me to come on over.
By the way Grey Lady the one dumb clown was arrested at the Pierre Elliot Trudeau (seems appropriate) Airport. D’ya think? Possibly the airline tickets in his possession were one-way to Syria. I think ISIS training protocols could provide return tickets after training.
Maybe this return could be coming to your home town. Kinda hard to know what one is thinking in advance for most events. “Do I Take The Picture Or Not” is probably the major thought after the decision to get away from a Canadian Winter.
You are right, the CBC image makes them look like proper dirtbags that perverted to Islam. Genuine, pure ragheads, what was CBC thinking?

“Knight 99-your kneejerk reaction is representative of the attitude bringing these young? dumb clowns into their messy future.”
I’d like to respond, but you’ll need to translate what your trying to say a little more clearly me thinks.
Arrest them when they try to depart to their IS/AQ training and hold then without bail. If and when convicted, label them as a dangerous offender, to be held indefinitely.
If they go and return, and are passported Canadian citizens, charge them with treason. If they conduct their jihadist activities here, charge them with sedition.
If they have no Cdn passport, they don’t leave the tarmac and are returned to their point of departure. If they try to claim refugee status, refuse consideration of the grounds criminals are not protected in this way, and off they go to their fates.
Be sure that only Canadians can expect any protection/due process under our constitution. To hell with anyone else. We are at war whether we like it or not or want to be – when someone says they’re at way with you, by default you are at war with them – if you wish to survive that is.
If we find them on the battlefield, or trying to execute missions here, kill them immediately. Be the stronger horse, that’s the only thing they’ll ever understand.
The only relevant question here is: are they followers of the pedophile prophet (bees pee upon him)? If they are then they should not demand or be entitled to foreign to them and despised by them notions like due process. Treat them according to the norms that sharia postulates the enemies are treated. What’s good for the goose and all that…

“If they go and return, and are passported Canadian citizens, charge them with treason. If they conduct their jihadist activities here, charge them with sedition.”
Bingo.
But unless they’ve committed a crime here before leaving, they should be allowed to go – and get their heads blown off in the desert. Otherwise we’re simply holding them (Or anyone else) for “thought crimes”, and paying tax dollars to attempt to charge and incarcerate them.
Again as I stated in my first comments we have no background on what the RCMP knows about these clowns, just a news blurb that they have been charged for trying to leave the country.
If these little pricks are found to have already committed terrorist activities against Canada then I’d like to see them hung & quartered – oh sorry, as per the bleeding heart Liberals we’re not allowed to do that anymore.
“But unless they’ve committed a crime here before leaving … ”
I thought it was a crime to plan terrorist activities, conspiring to murder, etc.
Is the law ambiguous on this?
Ural >
“I thought it was a crime to plan terrorist activities, conspiring to murder, etc.”
It is. Is that what happened here?
I think so K99, the qualifier is the remainder of the statement of charge.
” and for Attempting to leave Canada to participate in terrorist activity abroad (Sec. 83.181).”
Knight 99, don’t get me wrong, I’d like nothing better than shipping them out and getting them back in body bags.
But as we have already shown, they can go out and kill, come back, and get coddled by our libs.
Idd >
I hear ya, and too be clear I hate Islam & Liberals alike – but – “terrorist activity abroad” is a broad brush to paint.
I just hope to hell that if JT ever gets into power Canadians don’t let his mentally ill govn’t decide who is leaving the country to conduct “terrorist activity abroad”.
Just say’n, nothing more to my point.
ural >
Agreed, but as I’ve always ranted about at SDA “Securing our borders”. That means controlling who comes in, not who cares to leave (providing they don’t owe Canadian society some form of justice).
It’s kinda amazing, both the commies and conservatives don’t want the other to decide who is going to conduct “terrorist activity abroad”.
The saving grace is that we have international agreements in this regard.
We can’t stop a Canadian citizen coming home (even if it’s adopted).
Yep. Double edged sword no doubt.
“defence lawyer Joseph Addelman” they have a Jew for a lawyer?
Try familiarizing yourself with ss. 83.01-83.03 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
I don’t object to the Canadian government identifying and jailing would-be jihadis on their way to kill people in Syria for ISIS. That’s what government is for, that’s why we have borders.
I do have a problem with the mass surveillance they used to do it. Because a system like that only ever grows and mutates. It starts out looking for jihadis, it ends up being perverted to look for people j-walking, failing to sort their recycling properly or putting herbicide on their lawn to get rid of the dandelions without filling in the proper forms.
The less free we become the more problems we are going to have.
No takers on the bet, eh?
