Let’s not try to find high moral ground in either corporate partisan media or global political operators, there is enough slime to pass around – how many psycho-killers has the US and EU funded/supported in their many proxy wars and foreign regime changes, and what media takes their talking points directly from these government sources without blinking.
    The world is full of political/economic whores, hard to pick sides in a cat fight between them. AFAIC the media lost all credibility as the 4th estate(people’s watch dog) the day they decided to pick sides instead of just reporting on this endless cat fight of slimers.

    have been quite that smooth. Yet prototypes of her at that time had no problem
    telling an uninterested America and world that Chiang Kai-shek was the head of
    a corrupt regime unworthy of US support and that Mao was a harmless proAmerican
    agrarian reformer.
    Makes one wonder if there is a “Duranty gene” to be found in those leftists who
    infest the MSM and Media Party.

    Yeah, sure Soledad, Hugh has a narrow simplistic world view and yours is so big, wide, complex and nuanced.
    So nuanced that you don’t get that the “journalism” would have to be “very good” for the propaganda to take in a liberal democratic western country.
    It’s kinda like saying someone can’t be a psychopath ‘cos they are so very very intelligent and CHARMING.
    I read an excellent piece somewhere recently about the complex tangle of Yankee business interests in Qatar. Maybe google it. It explains all when you consider that Yankee big media is now owned by 6 corporations.

  16. I think “whore” is too good a word to describe the progressive media. Whores have standards while progressives are loyal only to narratives and feelings. Her moral relativism betrays the cultural nullity and true mindlessness of her audience. The only area where they consistently display principles is their universal contempt for liberty and those that proffer it.

    Agree with you, MeNoDhimmi.
    Abolishing the “media monopoly” laws was a big, big BIG mistake on the part of our duly-elected legislators.
    Too bad, so sad. Possibly that one mis-step will be found to have been the “beginning of the end” of America’s Great Experiment.
    Wish we could take it back . . . but experience has shown that the ratchet only moves one way (ever Leftward).
