  1. So this fellow thinks a PC government is bad for unions.
That settles it Hudak just sealed my vote.

  2. Consider also that for liberals, a minority is not a win. Wynne will not stay leader unless she can gain seats for a majority.
If she can’t, there are ambitious types in the liberal fold that will be sharpening steel.

  3. The comedy of errors made by Hudak (giving up 100% of Civil Service Vote) has been somewhat softened by the Liberal “UNION” battle to gain NDP voters.. The liberals must be desperate to now concede 100% of the anti-Union & anti-Civil service vote

  4. Conservatives don’t expect perfection, but we DO expect competence. Hudak’s early campaign promise to eliminate 100,000 public service sector jobs was astoundingly stupid for a politician.
I don’t blame him so much as the “expert” advisers that attach themselves to every pol like a leech, and are expected to have a clue about the mood of the voters on any particular subject.

  5. Hudak was borrowing one of the Liberals economic advisor, Don Drummond, recommendations to cut the public staff by 100,000 through attrition. The Lieberals ignored every one of Drummond’s major points to reduce the cost of government. Of course the Lieberals twisted this into massive teachers layoff. Hudak should state where this recommendation came from and as Ontario paid for the advice we will use it.

  6. Am I missing something here?
    Isn’t the Toronto Sun a privately-owned company?
What effect could any candidate’s victory – let alone Hudak’s – possibly have on the Sun other than provide lots of copy?
And that’s a good thing for a newspaper, isn’t it?

  7. In my experience there is often no strategic or logical connection between the interests of the employer and the leanings of their unions. Their leadership are almost exclusively concrete-bound NDP. Unlike some European models, the North American (and British) confrontational trade union model eventually self-destructs within the private sector as they prefer destroying their members jobs and employment to being accused of furthering the interests of their employers. Frequently, the only time the union bosses “believe” their employer is when they show up at the parking lot to find it locked and gated.
