The RCMP is investigating how and why $1.5 million in payments made their way into Swiss bank accounts belonging to Michel Fournier, the former boss of a federal Crown corporation that operates the Jacques-Cartier and Champlain bridges in Quebec, QMI Agency has learned. […] Fournier, a long-time Liberal, is an ex-chief of staff to Jean Chretien when he was opposition leader.

Old Habits die hard or is it a genetic reflex with kleptocrats?
He forgot Liberals must be in power to run full throttle racketeering and manage the police/cover up. Its the reason why the liberal capos fight like a cornered wharf rat to stay in power – once out, they are open to prosecution for their criminal operation – witness Ontario, 14 yrs. of racketeering, skimming, patronage brokering and sundry malfeasance. Wynn and the Librano spin team have nothing they wnt said about the criminal liberal government so they viciously slander opponents. I hope whoever wins has the ethics to press for Librano prosecutions and incarcerations – then again there is professional courtesy among the looting class.
My best guess is they had to use a large walmart bag. Not the usual brown envelope.
I’m not very smart, but the “how and why” explanation seems fairly apparent to me…
Occam;
I have come to the conclusion some while ago that there is a fairly large segment of our society who find the easiest way to make a living is to live off the ‘avails’ of others. In many cases they know no other way. I come from an era where Christian values were taught and they still guide me in how I deal with others. The vast majority today do not do that and in fact have never been exposed to any real ethical standard, Christian or not.
I will not get into my standard anti-eastern diatribe as this behavior exists in the west as well. As a conservative I would be a fool to think that some of what goes on in the Liebel party does not also happen in the CPC. It is all about how it is dealt with when discovered and I suggest PMSH has always acted quickly to expunge those who cross the line.
Am I wrong to suggest that Quebec has a huge problem in this regard. A very large number of high public figures seemed to be caught regularly with their hands in the public till. Is it so prevalent that these people have become roll models for others who see them successfully steal from fellow citizens?

It seems liberals are genetically modified to accept cash in brown envelopes, but then all socialists are thieves.
’cause Libranos, that’s why.
Should be an Ontario Liberal Election Add.
“Vote Liberal or you will be forced to find out all the ways we stole your money”
Protect your blood pressure, vote for ignorance.
$1,500,000 for two bridge resurfacing jobs; how many bridges are there in Quebec and how often are they resurfaced?
When the World Trade Center in NY was able to use a non mob related garbage disposal company they saved a million dollars a month.
a buck and a haff, small potatoes. Maybe Fornicate can borrow Kretiens brief case for the hearing, loaded with small potatoes and just open it and drop them on the floor.
CT, most of those accused in Qeebeck are French and/or Italians, you know, lefties and Katholics.
Simply the liberal mob at work. Particularly with Crietians ties with the Syndicate based in Montreal. That group as we have seen is pure mobster-ism.
Small potatoes.
If one were to google “French minister bnp paribas fine” it makes for interesting reading.
For folks with good memories, there are interesting but unremarked Montreal facets to this
The CBC did cover this story, sort of.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/snc-lavalin-bridge-contract-linked-to-1-5m-in-suspected-kickbacks-1.2534234
The words ‘Liberal’ or ‘Chretien’ are mentioned a total of ZERO times.
Wally, I thought the same when I first read the story. But there is a sidebar about half way down the page to the right of the main story which is very clear about the Liberal and Cretch links:
“Like Chretien, Fournier was born in Shawinigan, Que., 62 years ago this month, and he served as Chrétien’s chief of staff in Chrétien’s first year as party leader in 1990-91.
A notary by profession, Fournier set up a home with his wife Judith, a travel agent, in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, a town about 50 km southeast of Montreal. He was director general of the Quebec wing of the Liberal Party from 1992 until January of 1994, and received the FBC appointment four years later.”
I know, I was surprised too, about the CBC actually covering that.
I see what you mean.
So even though they did not mention the link to the Liberals in the original story, they covered their butt in the side bar.
I feel much better now.
FIRE.THEM.ALL.
BTW, they will not allow my comment that points out their little oversight. Re-imagine that.
