Oh, Shiny Pony!

CBC;

On Thursday, the Federal Trinity-Spadina Liberal Association announced, via press release, that the local executive has “voted to condemn both the process and the decision made by the Liberal Party to block its only known nominee in an imminent by-election.”
[…]
The release claims the party “made unproven and malicious allegations against the candidate and her family” in an effort to “cover up its desire to control the nomination process” — specifically, they allege, in response to Innes’s refusal to sign a written pledge to run for the nomination in Spadina-Fort York in 2015.

  1. I sense a nascent narrative taking shape here. It will soon be claimed that the wee nipper never actually promised fair and open nominations. No, what he really meant was he is working towards having fair and open nominations, at some future date yet to be announced. Going forward, of course. Media hoers.

  2. Looks like the Pony’s handlers/brains behind the curtain are calling the shots, ignoring whatever the Pony brays. It’s a pretty common thread among Liberals at all levels, they lie.
If I were the repudiated candidate I’d take some action…leave the party in protest. It sure seems to be in disarray,at least a big disconnect, one end doesn’t know what the other end is up to.

  3. Yes, with the continued incestuous infighting that augurs well for the next election.

  4. La plus ca change. . . .I recall being dragged to a Grit nomination meeting in that same Trinity-Spadina riding back in 1980 or so, when rival camps were vying to nominate their preferred parachuted-in candidates, over the usual objections of the locals, who preferred their own ward-heeler to either the Ottawa fart-catcher or the Ottawa bagman. Voting by show of hands, with hordes of instant Liberals dragooned in by the competing sides (I was there as one such), and watching from the bleachers, it was amusing to see the crowded masses moving from one side of the room after their votes were counted, the better to vote again when the scrutineers turned to the other side of the room. Democracy in action, or more realistically, democracy inaction. Not only has the process not changed one whit, but Shiny Pony’s policy platform is just as inane as his party’s policies were back then.

  5. Now the good folks that belong to the Trinity-Spadina Liberal Association are just going to have to “suck it up”
It seems it does not matter what falls out of the mouth of Junior the-walking-talking-disaster of a “Leader.”
Whatever he said, whenever and wherever he said it, it did not pass muster with the mysterious, unelected “Green-Light committee.
    But hey!
    Ain’t he purdy?
Did I mention the new baby?
The “New” Liberal Party just like the “Old” Liberal Party.

  6. Finally a little kickback from R&F Liberals about being dictated to by Jr’s handlers. I would think that Paikin is the sort of candidate Jr would very much want in a “new” LPC. Question remains, who answers for this latest gaff from the esteemed leader. Obviously Jr shares his father’s opinion of MPs of Parliament Hill, he doesn’t even know how many Liberal MPs he leads. Maybe this is beginning to don on a few of them.

  7. Junior is just not equipped to lead.
Once again the comments at CBC are comical.
Basically…”Well, Harper, and the CPC are losers eh?”

  8. The practise of parachuting in candidates should be abolished. It’s typical of the political hypocrisy in this Country that while we call ourselves a “democracy”,the political operatives do everything they can to subvert that system.
The CPC,PC,Liberals and NDP are all guilty of this anti-democratic process, and Justin has shown, once again, that there is nothing “new” about the new Liberal Party or it’s way of doing politics.
It’s sickening to realise that millions of Canadians are star struck by this guy and are about to vote for him.

  9. Shiney Pony has come up lame again. Do you think he will be “put down” like the others?

  10. This all went terribly wrong when the “Leader” was given the legal right to sign off on party nominations under the Elections Act.

  11. This is the fixer scum that PET Jr. has attracted to pull the LPC party levers – expect more apologia from the face boy as the new librano back room machine grinds up its human fodder on the way to the throne.

  12. isn’t it true democracy when der leader decides who is to benefit and who is to be shunned in our party? Oh, wait, that is oblama’s creed!

  13. When the story makes its way to the CBC, it tells me that the group think mentality is starting to fall apart. At first everyone at mothercorp expects everybody else at mothercorp to love the little pony because, well just because and if any of them had misgivings… Well it was better to not give the editor an excuse to designate you surplus staff and go along to preserve your job.
Fast forward to this last event and when the same editors admit it’s hard to ignore this, the journos at CBC find the courage to be more open about Justin’s lack of substance and forthought.
