The [Canadian Standards Association] has been providing influence over the drafting of Canadian law to a variety of foreign governments, foreign owned companies and to the citizens of foreign countries.
Care to verify that? A partial list of CSA committee members, the folks who draft law, is available here. But its only a partial list, mind you.
The CSA claims that their public list includes “all CSA Corporate Supporters,” but sources inside the CSA have furnished us with an internal membership list, and it doesn’t match the public list. Their internal list is much, much longer. And its crammed with foreigners. […]
We were also surprised to learn that CSA is selling access to, and control of, Canada’s laws from the United States. Right now, if you want permission to read certain Canadian laws, you have to phone to Ohio and make a payment to CSA’s US office. Then you can read the laws that apply to you. Its true, the CSA’s Lisa Eberman runs this operation from an office in Cleveland, OH.

W.T.F…..Can someone tell me please what is going on with our safety boot tester? Thats all i thought the CSA was . They tested certain safety products to make sure they can do what the manufacturer says they can do.So can someone please enlighten me to there other shenanigans?
Not sure what the CSA is up to but:
It is common practice for Canadian industries to look to their export partners to “agree” on standards. Think USDA standards for agriculture. This is done to guarantee access to the markets.
I haven’t followed the CSA thread at SDA closely and I don’t know if my comment is particularly on topic, but, if I’m an exporter that must meet the market countries safety standards I’d want them on board.
Easy Exporter
There are no “natural limits” to a kleptocracy.
This form of bureaucracy is and has been very lucrative.
There is no way these parasites will voluntarily release their fangs.
Thank you SO much for posting “Canadian Standards Association”. As a Texan I had been following these posts for weeks wondering what the Confederate States of America, (or perhaps the Casting Society of America?) had to do with this. Despite repeated googles I couldn’t find out what CSA was the one you were talking about. Thank you!
Well, imagine my surprise to learn that large segments of Medicaid are managed by and large segments of the famous Obamacare supporting software were build by a Canadian firm. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot on both sides of the 49th!
