7. The NRO (National Reconnaissance Office) was created IIRC by JFK in the first year of his presidency to create reconnaissance satellites to monitor the Soviet Union. At the time Francis Gary Powers had been shot down in his U2 over Russia and the SR71 was in the planning stages, so satellites were seen as a viable alternative to aircraft. The NRO’s mission was finding the Russian nuclear arsenal. They had some amazing satellites that would photograph vast swathes of the USSR and drop the film in containers to be recovered in the Pacific Ocean by the US Navy.
   Unless you’re building a missile silo in the back 40 or have a couple of Backfire supersonic bombers by the hangar they most likely don’t care about you. I would imagine their primary concern right now is Iran, followed by China.

8. Good information, although not long ago we believed the NSA/TSA was only concerned with terrorists and look how the mission creep has spread to all citizens. That symbol is fitting in more ways than one.
