Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Stephen Harper never invites me to try and win a dinner with him,and I’ve voted for him every election.
Of course,it may just be that the Liberals want to wine and dine me before they screw me, which is decent of them,I suppose.Romantics.
Mr.Garneau, how does it feel for an accomplished gentleman as you are, to have to sit back and pretend you really believe Justin Trudeau has anything to offer anybody?
Doesn’t it “bug” you that the Water Boy got promoted to Head Coach?
Uhhh, not to try and paint this rainbow unicorn moment black – BUT – you think you could kick a few bucks back to the Canadian taxpayer for th money you stole in Adscam – ya kno, the payment PM Martin promised would come from the LPC _ Just a timely reminder Pony.
A scarf? Why not some old underwear… “Hope@ skidmarks, 2015.
You’re the one who lives in a dream world, where so-called conservative thought (as you see it, aka invalid) has any traction whatsoever in the real world.
As for 2015, we will see.
Come on mow!! That just hurts to much. Than again facts usually do.
But wait, there’s more! Donate now and get TWO nights with The Shiny Pony.
It’s worse than anyone thinks because the way it’s worded, the winner will get to have dinner with JT and 4 of his guests.
The dirty little secret of politics, as with so many things in life, is that money talks and B.S. walks.
When Harper cut the Per-Vote-Subsidy that Chretien set up, the clock began ticking. The Liberals are going to run out of money Progressive Conservative style unless they win power in the next election.
It costs roughly $20 million to run a national campaign in an election. The Conservatives out-fund raise ALL THE OTHER PARTIES COMBINED.
THIS ‘unite the right’ math wasn’t lost on Harper in 2003.
The media pundits can chin wag and blue sky all they want, but in the era of the low information voter, money talks louder than ever.
I really want dinner with Trudeau. I’d hide a tape corder under the table, ask him a bunch of questions, see how many times I could mention the word Avalanche in the conversation and make him very uncomfortable.
Remembering that count igula was ahead in the polls last time. So much that the dolt Andrew Coyne predicted a Lieberal majority
Be careful what you wish for. Remember JT smoked pot which had been brought to his home by a dinner guest. The winner of this little soiree just might be expected to bring ‘a little something’.
Donations? Why not just steal the money like they usually do.
You are onto something with your second paragraph.
I also wonder how Marc Garneau can pimp for the Shiny Pony without breaking into gales of laughter. Outer space must have addled his brain.
The polls are clear that Harper is far more toxic than Trudeau. They are also clear that the NDP vote is breaking to the Liberals.
In honor of all those who have thundered into the heavens, I give you:

One of my favorites!!
Las, Harper is only “toxic” to those on the left. Most Conservatives quite like him. Polls this far out from an election do not tell us much, though given the recent polling fiasco in Brandon-Souris, they get even worse the closer the election is.
Gee I remember a time when political parties tried to attract new members and contributions by advocating a distinct policy apart from the other political parties.
Now they resort to prostituting their leader for dollar a dance gimmicks.
Meanwhile a conservative backbencher initiates a debate on democratic representation and the one trick pony isn’t sure if he supports it or not.
How long till Justin’s next bimbo erruption?
Have fun in the Blue Bubble. Reality will not have mercy.
Most Conservatives quite like him.
That is their disgrace, not mine.
The only important poll will be in Oct ’15. Every poll before then is just political propaganda.
The Harper Haters and the Trudeau Haters appear to be cut from the same cloth, merely at opposite ends of the political polarization.
Just because you believe this doesn’t make it factual LAS.Like Linda says, most Cons like him,it’s only the low info voters who don’t.Living in B.C.,I don’t have the same confidence in polls as you do.Remember how the NDP were going to sweep the province.
LAS, you keep harping on about the “Polls”.
There is only one that matters, coming up 2015 I believe.
Who has the free time and goodwill toward pollsters to bother with their annoying surveys?
Gainfully employed people usually do not waste their time.
Funny how polls have failed to predict the voting conservatives behaviour in the last federal and provincial elections.
But if it makes you feel better, you go ahead and place your bets.
Check Wikipedia for dartford kent. In the list of famous residents it has mick keef and Maggie and probably 30 more
Anyway I think JT looks more like keef than mick. But then his mum. A different Maggie was like the village bike. Waiting for JT to admit to some SS dalliances ,
That dinner will be just like anything to do with a Trudeau, you’re left picking up the check.
Hey LAS, can you remind us all how that poll for the Brandon-Souris byelection worked out?
Seeing as Trudeau isn’t trained as an astronaut, the answer would very clearly be “no”.
Next totally idiotic question please.
Oh by the way, look at the dirty, dirty pool your boys the Conservatives are up to.

“BUT BUT BUT Jack Laden rub n’ tug!!!”
That’s the riding that the Cons nearly lost after holding it for decades right? Does not prove the point you think it does. You guys aren’t exactly geniuses.
None of your kvetching negates my point. Often these polls work. They did in the last few federal elections and most provincial elections like Newfoundland. In BC the opposition was led by Comrade Dix and he expertly blew it. Again, have fun in the Blue Bubble while it lasts.
Given the Trudeau’s track record, will Justin demand that transfer payments be made with B.C. bud?
Like they worked in the Alberta election….and the B.C. election. LAS, you are a laughable clown. But then leftists are generally quite amusing. Dumb and fire hydrants, but amusing.
Oh yeah….one more thing, Einstein….take a look at the polling history of the Liberals over the past couple of elections. You will see an almost identical pattern. If you can’t see it, have a responsible adult help you. Hand puppets can be helpful.
I’d go if it were at “Franks Restaurant”.
“Dezainde also testified that Alfonse Gagliano introduced Dezainde to his associate, Joe Morselli, who was described as “the real boss” in the Liberal Party financing scheme, even though Morselli had no official connection to the Liberals:”

LAS, you’re delusional if you think that Turdeau will implement a “saner drug policy”. He’s a statist and would probably legalize and heavily tax cannabis. Likely, this “liberal” view of drug policy would involve the Canadian Gestapo raiding home growers using police state tactics as totalitarians use whatever force is necessary to “regulate” things. I don’t believe Turdeau has said he’d decriminalize cannabis which is the only sane solution to this problem.
PMSH has missed an incredible opportunity to decriminalize cannabis which would likely make BC a solidly Conservative province as the legal status of weed is the highest priority subject in the minds of the majority of British Columbians. Cannabis is currently this provinces largest cash crop and decriminalizing it would make it an even larger industry given the expertise available in BC to grow the worlds most potent pot. Decriminalization would also setup BC as a world leader in research in medical applications of cannabis. Unlike what the majority of people think, the most medically relevant compound in cannabis is not THC but cannabidiol (CBD). CBD has been shown to be an anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory and antipsychotic in preliminary studies and we’ve just scratched the surface of the role of endocannabinoids in neurochemistry. Endocannabinoids will turn out to be as or more important than prostaglandins and a program of decriminalizing cannabis would help make BC a world leader in this area.
IMHO, it would be more worthwhile to go after PMSH to change his thinking on the legal status of a benign herbaceous product than convince Turdeau that legalization is the last thing one wants. Lieberals are uber-regulators and are quite ready to kill people for violation of regulations. The only regulation that one needs in a free market system for cannabis and related psychoactive drugs is the death penalty for adulteration of a product and mis-representing what one is selling. Aside from that, let capitalism reign.
Yeah, but the loser Rolf Dinsdale’s father was the Honourable Walter Dinsdale, Progressive Conservative Member of Parliament for Brandon-Souris from 1951-1982 and a Diefenbaker-era Cabinet Minister. So the Libtard Loser was parachuted in by the Librano$ and ran on the coattails of his Conservative father — and, even then, couldn’t win.
The Liberal$ are the parachute champions: They can’t find locals to run for them so they drop candidates into ridings in which they have no track record and haven’t a clue what the locals’ concerns are: Ignatieff, Freeland, and the list goes on.
Be daring!
Take a chance!
Venture into the unknown!
Vote for a bigger and more bloated nanny state!
Good Lord…
anybody got a three dollar bill I can donate?
Under no circumstance would I support shiney poney!!
He would be the Canadian Oblama, all talk, no brains, all corruption and waste.
Talk about chintzy,I’d still like to see a picture of the Trudeau scarves. I’m sure it’s red, just like the red thongs Liberals have been known to hand out at party functions.
Mississauga Matt, that is by far the best idea ever.
I also wonder how Marc Garneau can pimp for the Shiny Pony without breaking into gales of laughter. Outer space must have addled his brain.
I doubt if his brain is any more addled than it always was…he’s the do-gooder type. More commonly known as the ‘for your own good’ type.
So a lousy three buck donation with an out-of-pocket expense of 75 cents will give me the thrill of thundering upward to the heavens?? Ooh, I’m getting all shivery…where’s my chequebook?
LAS: “Often these polls work.”
Often it is sunny, often it is cloudy, but always LAS is unconvincing.
As others pointed out, Dinsdale was given a big push, Trudeau visited the riding 4 times! He had his bandmate WK shilling for him from TO in the SUN papers. Then the poll comes out the day before the vote giving him a 29% lead. That’s a major polling failure. The local joke was all the low info Lib voters were confused when they couldn’t find Trudeau’s name on the ballot…
