  1. It doesn’t mater which way they’re pointed, the actions should be open and a zip-tie looped through the barrel. Hoplophobes wouldn’t understand.

  2. Why…that’s a mighty fine gun show ya got going there Mr. Mayor! Who woulda thunk you would see such a fine display smack dab in the middle of Noo Yawk Fuggin City?
Now, if I could have the Sig, the Beretta and that cute little Walther without the nanny-state paperwork – we can get this deal rolling! Can you bring in AR15’s Mr. Mayor…?

  3. Lib-turds never scream about gun safety or gun locks.
    Look at that picture.
Not a single firearm has a trigger lock.
A 6 year old could grab a pistol off that table and they would stampede each other trying to get out the door.
But, It would make historic Headlines:
‘Mayor Bloomers-burg Trampled To Death at Gun Exhibition.’

  4. I think this is actually a Freudian slip on the NYPD’s part. If one never points a firearm at anything one does not wish to destroy, what are they saying when they point all of those guns at the media?

  5. Actions closed with no empty chamber indicator flags sticking out of the ejector ports, magazines inserted (cylinders latched for the revolvers) and pointed at people. Any range officer would have conniptions over any one of those violations.
I’m not sure about NY state gun-show laws but I’ll bet that having unsecured handguns on a table like that is illegal. I wonder if the SAFE act which restricts magazines to 7 shots has an exemption for showboating politicians?

  6. In case you thought you were losing your mind – yes, for a brief moment the link pointed to the wrong story, and was corrected a few seconds later.

  7. It’s like that for every firearm-related presser by these idiotic politicians. Look up photos from Feinstein’s “assault-weapon” ban stage show earlier this year.

  8. “That rule is clearly violated in the photos below as the guns can be seen pointing at members of the press”
    Yeah? And?

  9. Question is:
If one of the guns went off on it’s own and hit a “journalist” in the ass, would that constitute damage?
For the impaired, it’s a rhetorical device. Guns don’t go off on their own and could not hit anybody in the back side while sitting.
As repeated many times, don’t point a gun on anyone for any reason.

  10. You don’t think they ignored the rules intentionally do you?
I mean trigger and action locks, point em to the wall instead of the media….. Don’t they look more scary this way to prove the need for control?

  11. I love how some people are so brainwashed that they poop their pants if they see a firearm with no trigger lock on it.

  12. More to the point, these guns were never “taken off the street”. They never got onto the street. A cop posed as a bulk buyer, and the smugglers sold to him; quite possibly having made a special run to get the goods he ordered.
So the cops shut down one dealer in a sting operation, but the other dealers will continue to prosper, and can now raise their prices, citing this case as proof of how dangerous it is for them to bring the guns into NYC. Profit!

  13. I recall a poster on here a couple of months ago taking a stand against the safety phrase: “treat every weapon as if it were loaded.”
I would go with his version of the safety rule – “Every gun IS loaded.”

  14. All firearms (handguns particularly) must be “proven” to be unloaded when on display in public or on the range – clips out, slide racked open ejector port side up or cylinder or load gate swung open so you can see an empty breech and chambers – bet there aren’t many cops that know this seeing how few actually show up at the range regularly – a putz like Bloomberg hasn’t a frigging clue he’s dangerously ignorant

  15. It would be interesting to know which journos have weapons permits and for what purpose.
Where is that list that popped up after those kids were murdered in NY?

  16. Bloomberg only worries that his bodyguards have enough bullets to keep the “little people” out of his gated community and off his armoured car.
The rest is theatre for useful dummies.

  17. All firearms (handguns particularly) must be “proven” to be unloaded when on display in public or on the range
Exactly… that’s basic gun safety we teach in the CFSC courses.

  18. It is also good policy to treat every politician as if they
are loaded when it comes to their usual performance on issues.
