  1. Thank goodness for Globull warming.Just think how cold we would be without it.Now.Can we imprison the asshats like Mann, etc and confiscate the billions spent on a non-existent problem?

  2. I was probably one of the original MMGW skeptics. From the UN’s own intro full of maybe’s, could’s and if’s to the next bizarre claim that the science was settled. I am to this day gobsmacked whenever I think of any true scientist uttering that claim.
I even wondered if it was all just an elaborate marketing stunt for the Prius.
That said, I now share a similar distrust of many of the denier’s claims.
As I have learned from watching and participating in partisan debates, no one wants to concede victory so the argument always becomes about your own side winning. Both sides criticize each other for confusing weather and climate yet both continue to do so today if they think they can score a point.
In regards to the earth’s climatic timeline, this snapshot of 1 week of temps in part of one continent is utterly meaningless.

  3. This is impossible of course. For years the Warmists have been telling us that one of the hallmarks of climate change is warmer overnight temperatures. It’s right there in the pal-reviewed models so obviously these temperatures will need to undergo some serious adjustment.

  4. “That said, I now share a similar distrust of many of the denier’s claims.”
So you set the rules of debate that allow warmists to use weather as a debating point while others can’t even rebutt using weather?

  5. I was also watching this debate from day one and agree with your conclusions. Refuse to produce a falsifiable (scientific method) theory (only possible human causes considered) then say it’s “proven” and any attempt at falsification is smeared.
From playing word games (CO2 is emitting pollutant) to blaming big oil for dissent when jokers like Gore and Soros work for Arabian oil interests.
The game is up with climate change so far down the list of voter concerns that it needs sunshine piped into it; these clowns will go down with the ship as the public is “outraged” when they see the con fully.

  6. God has a very wry sense of humour.
Globull Warming was originally concocted by a bunch of
smart guys at Enron who later roped in a lot of their
crooked politician friends looking for new tax sources.
They certainly thought big, that’s for sure.
And they came so close to pulling it off.

  7. Geez, brush up on your reading comprehension. What part of “Both sides criticize each other for confusing weather and climate yet both continue to do so today if they think they can score a point. “ makes you conclude:
So you set the rules of debate that allow warmists to use weather as a debating point while others can’t even rebutt using weather? Clearly, CO is not doing so, and equally clearly, you missed his point completely.
For the record, I agree with CO – a one week cold snap is not proof of any change in climate, one way or the other. Even an entire cold summer isn’t evidence of climate change; it could just be a response to volcanic eruptions, for example. What I would believe is decades – at least – of data showing a prolonged and consistent change in response to changes in the purported causative variable (CO2). Since that does not yet exist, I continue to be a ‘climate change agnostic’.

  8. It is truly scarey how close they came – and they haven’t given up yet!

  9. I had to laugh. I was listening to the radio (news) a few weeks back and they were crying about how hot the DC area was. (Duh it’s summer)
So this morning what do I hear, it’s cold???
    Nuts.

  10. “The Gore Effect” – the new vernacular for uncommon cold spells, I like it!

  11. I can remember being told in grade 3 or 4 that in 20 years the area I lived in would be a desert. that was in the late 70’s. Even at that age I had more of a belief in Santa Claus than the impending doom of desert life.
All these years later and proof that they have been wrong so many times, and the sheep keep eating it up.
There truly is a sucker born every minute

  12. Yeah. I’m still waiting for Guam to roll over and sink.I don’t think the term suckers is even close to adequately describe what these “people” are. Even zombie is too nice a term.Like they say,you can’t fix stupid.

  13. Since when did “inconvenient truth” about cold temperatures ever get in the way of Gorzuki delivering the goods on….wait for it….the Warming of the Planet.
There’s money to be made doncha know.

  14. All temperature series are utterly meaningless. They have exactly zero long range predictive power. Only in retrospect can we point to ice ages, etc.
The warmists don’t have the integrity, ( and/or intelligence ) to admit that, ie Mann, Hansen, and all the others.

confusing weather and climate, lefties always try and separate the 2, so I ask U what causes weather, and can it exist without “climate”, and when weather happens does it not impact climate, or does it just effect YOUR prius. Point being, they are inseparable!!
“In regards to the earth’s climatic timeline, this snapshot of 1 week of temps in part of one continent is utterly meaningless”
yuppers, any thing lessa than about 1000 years is meaningless. Butt, the human mind is limited in it’s ability to comprehend much beyond the life span of one’s existence (60-80 years), after that things start to become foggy real quick.
Like U I was skeptical very early on, but became so by observing the methodology

  16. What you said about volcanic eruptions.
There has been fairly consistent volcanic activity since the beginning of this year. If one remembers the Eyjafjjallajökull and the Mount Pinatubo eruption, then one can see the decrease in temperatures.
    Just saying.

  17. There was a time when prophets would be stones if their prophecies did not come to pass. Just saying!

Indeed it is. Yet such snapshots are constantly touted by warmists as being extremely significant. And according to them, such coolings as displayed here aren’t supposed to happen in our rapidly warming world. This isn’t an attempt to prove the earth is cooling, or that it isn’t warming, but rather to point out to warmists that this event contradicts their claims and to require them to come up with an explanation.

“Denier” is a religious term for those who reject dogma. For those who reject the AGW religion it is an apt term. Since I reject the blind dogma of any religion, perhaps I’m a ‘denier’, and proud of it.
Those who challenge scientific theories are called skeptics. Skepticism is the foundation of the scientific method.
    I’m a skeptic.
