    “This is not about pipeline safety issues. It`s about the CBC bashing western Canada on a daily basis.
    A message to all of you eastern leftist critics. Where does this article talk about Harper? Do you believe that the PM goes around the country telling Enbridge how to run its operations? This is Western Canada, not Ontario or Quebec where most of you couldn`t buy a garden hose without the government telling you what size and what colour.
    How many of you socialists have ever worked on a pipeline, an oil rig or in a refinery! Every line that hasn`t got an electric driven valve has a manual shutoff. If they don`t have an electric backup its because they don`t need one. Enbridge goes back to the days of Pan Canadian. Back in the days when the Liberals were trying to get our oil for free until Peter Lougheed stopped them.
    If things are so bad at Enbridge, why do so many of you Liberals move out west and work for the oil industry? Why don`t you all stay back east and tap your maple trees. That’s the apex of technology for most Liberals.”
    PS: A message to CBC. Instead of showing a valve complex at Hardisty, Alberta, why don’t you show the valve system at Chalk River, Ont. Or should we go there??

  6. Great comment, Plainzdrifter, hope it gets through at the CBC site.
    The top (lead) story on CBC’s “Hockey Night in Canada” version of The National (short and sweet and wedged between two games, which pretty much guarantees a much larger audience) was that same “Enbridge breaks safety rules” (non)story you commented on.
    It’s strange to hear this breathless, gratuitous eco-alarmism delivered by a guy (Mansbridge) in a suit, tailored for eastern urban progressives, and short of the sort of knowledge/details so many people outside of a particular eastern corridor are aware of.
    It’s enough to make one sick that the rest of us are paying over a billion a year for this anti-oil, anti-west advocacy all dressed up as “news” and tailored for Liberal/NDP/ecoloon constituency.
    The CBC should be choked off.

    Ultimately, all the lies, the complete disinterest by the MSM, the millions of dumb-@ss white voters that thought it too much trouble to drag their fat-@sses to the polls to vote in 2012 for the less than perfect alternative all led to an unbelievable second term for the Zero.   It’s a National disgrace.

    What he actually means is that “we the people” (not the CBC, nor the other chattering classes) began to question AGW because, it transpires, it was a hoax perpetrated by the likes of lyin’, let’s-make-a-gazillion-off-this-snake-oil Gore and Suzuki. We the people (not the CBC, nor the other chattering classes) also began to tire of the media’s overexposure, ad nauseum, of feminist, gay, and Native causes. The CBC doesn’t “do” one mom/one dad families or mention the stability these families for the most part secure for their children, even though they bleat about child poverty which they again never mention is primarily caused by divorce and/or single-mom “families” that never form in the first place.
    I did enjoy his reference to I’m-Peter-Mansbridge-and-you’re-not as “Pastor Mansbridge.”
