Lebanese citizens in that region are already killing each other. The only reason their part of the country hasn’t yet turned into a war zone is because they’re killing each other on the other side of the border, which lies a mere handful of miles from where they reside. They’re crossing into Syria to shoot at each other before hunkering down in an unnerving balance of terror when they return home.
It’s all the Israelis’ fault, I tell ya. Get rid of Israel and the Middle East would transform into a bountiful land of peace, prosperity, and tolerance.

I have e-mailed this link to Stephen Harper who is my MP in Ottawa. I also referenced that Canada should NOT be expected to air lift out the dual citizens as we did the last time Lebanon erupted in fighting. If these people choose to live in a hell hole country with no self esteem, then that is their choice. My philosophy is “you make your bed, you lie in it!”
Let them all come to Canada where they can have a better life. Free health care, free school for their kids, free housing, free food stamps and much more. We’ll give them Canadian citizenship and allow them to keep their home country citizenship so they can return when things calm down. Then some day if they get sick and need health care, heck they can return to Canada and get ’er done. And if another war breaks out in their home country, shit we’ll even let you come back to Canada on a Canadian paid flight.

I used to think America’s involvement in the Middle East was justified, I no longer believe that.
The mistake many make is to assume this is muzzie fighting muzzie or that Lebanon is divided like Yugoslavia simply along sectarian lines….

My take is that the Maronites, much like the ethnicity that spawned Japans ninjas historically were a persecuted minority that for a time after WW1 were the ruling sect…due to numbers. A precarious balance that was upset by the mass influz of Palestinians after “Black September” in Jordan.
Maronites are not ninjas but are certainly the spartans of Lebanon…..targeted by Hezbolla, Syria and the Pali’s.
