Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Yeah the delivery wasn’t the best polished, but when an individual of 82 years says they have some wisedom to relate to you and they have something of a record to back it up, I stop and listen.
For all the Hollywood current stars bashing, bet you could buy the Good, the Bad and the Ugly or A Fistful of Dollars or For A Few Dollars More after your titles are off the shelf. And definitely Unforgiven.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, on Eastwood’s RNC performance:
“You hear some of [Romney’s] opponents [saying] how he’s a robot, he’s mechanical — no, he’s just a private person who does amazing things and we saw some of that last night. I just wish, frankly, I would have rather seen that than Clint Eastwood during the prime time…Overall in the convention that one moment, which I cringed about…I think in the big picture, though, the rest of it was amazing.”

Clint has balls thats all I know. To face the Hollywood crowds Religion(the Democratic Party) takes grit.
What is most interesting is the differing reaction to Clint’s performance from the political class and the general public. About a minute into Clint’s act, it suddenly occurred to me that he wasn’t nervous or lost but rather things were going exactly as he planned them to go. He’s far too good an actor to mess up. I also found Clint’s performance hilarious and one thing leftists don’t like is being made fun of.
People will remember Clint’s “interview” with Obozo and the empty chair is a fitting metaphor for the empty-suit TOTUS. The political classes think completely differently than the majority of the population and it’s the people that count in November.
Entertainment type shows are throwing Clint under the bus-stating twitter was the first responder with-get this-Rosanne Barr saying he was cray.
The comments on you tube are full of name calling and ridicule of anyone giving kudos to Clint and then they blame the people saying thanks to Clint for their hatred because they were to spew such ugliness-it’s gotta be someone elses fault-as usual.
For anybody “wincing” at Clint Eastwood’s remarks, I would recommend re-watching Gran Torino (2008): if the media standard for the interpretation of American life and politics is the modern Democratic Party’s version of “sensitivity” and “diversity”, I’d choose Walt Kowalski’s version all day everyday — and I suspect that a good number of Democrat-registered men, at least, in the Great Lakes states would as well. This will have a critical impact on November 6.
“You can fix just about anything with a pair of vice grips, a can of WD40 and a roll of duct tape. Start with that.” — or words to that effect. And I also like, you know, his dog, which, apparently, we’re also not supposed to have anymore, according to the girly-men of the Hopey-Changey crowd. We definitely don’t need no stinking giant fans or mirrors, and all that these frauds represent.
Piers Morgan getting all exercised over Clint taking an extra seven minutes made me lol — after the CNN spectacle on Wednesday night of having Anderson Cooper standing under an open eavestrough in New Orleans for hours on end. My wife tolerated the Cooper nonsense for about two minutes before she said, “If they’re not going to cover the RNC Convention, can we watch something else?” To which I responded, “You know, I was just thinking: do you think they’re trying to suppress their own ratings tonight?”
Here’s a teensy-weensy thought for the intellectual giants in the media: Clint Eastwood is not on the ballot! I thought his playing the court jester to Mitt Romney’s straight man was brilliant, and he spoke a lot of home truths that needed to be spoken. Among others,
– 23 million unemployed is a national disgrace.
– trying terror suspects in downtown New York City is a stupid idea.
– if you’re going to announce a pull-out date, why not indeed pull the troops out of Afghanistan tomorrow morning?
– Barack Obama is an empty chair, and Joe Biden is a smile with a suit somewhere behind it,
and,
“We own this country, and politicians are our employees. If a guy hasn’t done the job, shouldn’t we let him go?” — or words to that effect.
Rush has it right.

The Tropical Depression/Class 1 Hurricane got a lot of coverage for being just a big rainstorm. Reminds me of Toronto calling out the army for a snowstorm which in our neighborhood is pretty ordinary. Someone must think the army has a secret store of snowplows.
