The problem is when he’s not, and other aspects of him that are distressing. He’s like one of those guys marked on the basis of five categories, and his score is: 5,3,2,4,1. You want to like him based on the 5 and 4, but the 1 and 2 are scary.
He is sharp and takes no punches. While he may never become president, there is a need for more politicians like him who are able to take on the consensus media.
I’ve wanted Newt since before South Carolina. Unfortunately that probably won’t happen.

The reason Newt is not on his way to the White House is not so much because of his shortcomings (of which he has some, like all of us), but because the *** Republican establishment sided with the mainstream media to knock him out of the running ***.
The Republican establishment may well reap what they sow, and they better start praying that Romney can pull it off because it will be a miracle.
There are lots of callers on El Rushbo that have been taking another look at Newt. It seems to me that in this race “perception is reality” and the non-Romney’s for the time being perceive RS as the lead dawg. I’m not expert in primary elections, but I trust that Newt still thinks he can win and that’s good for me.
I called for a Newt/Palin ticket in 2009 and I’m still holding-out hopes. All of that said, I do like MR and suspect that he’s now a big favorite going forward.
One of the matters which really confounds me…..why do Republicans continue to have debates moderated by DEMONcRAT media who shamelessly exploit the opportunity to dictate the narative?
It seems the only current antedote for this farce is Newt’s signal, effortless ability to rip them a new one when they throw him a loaded question.

In 2008, Sarah Pallin didn’t grasp this reality soon enough. My observation is that currently the MSM interviews her at their peril.
The american political landscape has lacked the aggressive political prowess of the UK’s Nigel Farange….now that is emerging on the scene.
I should add that this whole business of contraception was almost certainly a trap set by Obama and his scheming Marxist cronies, and the mainstream Republicans walked right into it.

I agree with you, the GOP est. has been the biggest objector to Newt’s candidacy. This SHOULD say something to those that object to the status quo. Newt is the ONLY candidate still standing that is actually talking about changing Washington. THAT is the problem.
Gregory isn’t a fool or a robot, he knows the real question is ; which is the genuine constitutionally guaranteed right – the right to religious freedom or the right to have on demand abortion pills. But he attempted to siderail the real debate with a typical left fallacious premise.
This network’s agenda was exposed for what it is – they are a paid propagandist of the Obama regime.

The fact that the usually astute political observers that comment here regularly would consider this man a credible candidate for U.S. President is depressing for me. Has no one else watched this guys career of scheming and conniving conservative voters since Ronald Reagan? Voting for him is voting for more of the same old same old. I’m not a Catholic. In fact I strongly think the Catholic Church is a goofy organization. I don’t even like it. I’m barely even a Christian as far as they are concerned. But I’d happily show up to support them if they flat out tell Barry Obama to shove it. I’ll carry a sign in that parade. For weeks if necessary.

I think it’s clear that Newt will use funding without hesitation if it is legal and he feels entitled to it and I support that.

The landslide of 94 yielded an abundant but weak crop. Their heads were easily turned by the Democrat tricks and the snubbed establishment Republicans did not lift a hand. In fact soon after they engineered a coup attempt of their own lead by none other than John Boehner.
Despite all this Americans enjoyed major successes including welfare reform, balancing the budget and reducing taxes, not to mention maintaining strong foreign policy positions.

But Limbagh, in making a point – that of asking others to pay for your own sexual choices – and by the way a mature 30 year old sophisticated and apparently upper middle class woman, who suggests she needs $3000 worth of contreception for a year – a ‘slut’ is reason to attack his livelihood by boycotting his sponsors.
The woman was on ‘The View’ this morning and was certainly using the controversy for larger political ends. She noted that she had been offended 54 times by his tirade and urged viewers to consult Media Matters for America for more information. She’s also admitted that she chose Georgetown U. for the express purpose of challenging it’s health care policies.
Oh, and she dismissed Limbaugh’s apology.
