  1. We can only hope that more black, Asian and Islamic people become victims of home invasions and robberies, so that the liberal left will allow Canadians to defend themselves. It seems to be the only way the Liberal white retarded class can bring themselves to agree to reverse laws against basic self preservation.
That is when a non white person is affected and demands change like the Chinese shop keeper.

  2. Rex Murphy is too kind. Its really nothing other than the jackboot crashing down on the human face. They are crushing Ian Thompson as a political tactic to cow everyone else in Canada.
Me, I’m not too keen on waiting to have my face kicked in thank you very much.

  3. We can only conclude that the Gova-mint (a nasty flavour of mint) and the police want all the guns so that they can commit all of the gun crimes.
It is not only in finance that the Gova-mint conducts itself in ways that would put a private individual in jail.

  4. With all the Press coverage of this event,it’s never been mentioned IF Mr.Thomson had had his seized guns returned,or if he sits helpless and unarmed, while the fire bombers plot another assault.
I suppose we can suppose that no more attacks will be made on Mr.Thomson due to the Police now being involved, and the FB’s natural fear of that august bunch, but still,I’d feel better knowing Mr,T had at least a “Defender” loaded and properly stored.
    Just in case.

  5. What type of recourse does the public have when a crown prosecutor is clearing engaging in a malicious prosecution?
Come on any of you legal eagles. Specific remedies.

  6. “Come on any of you legal eagles. Specific remedies.”
We could always try doing what the Lefties do: rioting. Seems to work pretty good for them, but I suspect that has a lot more to do with money changing hands in high office than with the actual effectiveness of riots as a political tactic.
Conservatives rioting in Canada would end with a body count like Syria, because we don’t have a Special Deal with the mayor.

  7. The Supreme Court Of India recently gave a ruling on the Right of Self Defense.
Two statements made by the ruling Judges caught my eye:
1.”The law does not require a law-abiding citizen to behave like a coward when confronted with an imminent, unlawful aggression”.
2.”As repeatedly observed by this court, there is nothing more degrading to the human spirit than to run away in face of danger”.

  8. MR.G >
That’s good news. As I commented earlier, if India or the Congo says that self defence is ok, than maybe our Liberal left will think so as well.

  9. I read the article and thought it was a good one. What is interesting is to read through the comments on the article, where clearly some do not have a clue. One maintains that the state is only enforcing the law as required, so it is the usual blame the victim. The truth remains that the state was not, is not, enforcing the actual law but its interpretation of it.

  10. This strategy of charging any gun owner with unsafe storage if the police are called to their home is disgusting. I am pretty sure when they charged Mr. Thompson they would have confiscated all his guns.
The message I feel they are trying to cow us gun owners with is if you ever take your guns out of locked storage in your home/yard you will be charged and lose your guns. This is the gub-mints way of telling Canadians don’t even think of using a gun for self defense in your home.

  11. Shoot. Shovel. Shut up.
In the case of defence of life, what do I need the police for, again?

  12. If I’m shooting it at an arsonist at 3am, the gun’s bloody well NOT in storage, now, is it? It’s in use.

More like don’t even think about self defence in your home.
This is about domestication of the general public and the subjugation of it to totalitarian authority, driven by the Liberal Progressive agenda. The current pseudo communist European Union and UN global enforcers are leading the cause in all western countries. They are continuously setting up dictatorships of their own convenience in economically viable, resource rich third world countries.
They want a global public disarmed and a subservient workforce to their dictatorial control of the wealth and economies of the world.
This isn’t conspiracy, its happening before everyone’s eyes every day. They are well published and documented if anyone cares to absorb the reality of the insanity. The Liberal left goes along like a bunch of moon-eyed cult worshipers believing in the master’s line of BS.

  14. We had a fatality here 10 years ago. Phone 911. Some one trapped and burning. First one here came 60 miles. 45 min. Fire dep. longer. Where we live we on our own. Some one comes into my house at nite they just signed their own death warrant. I can’t wait 45 min. for the cops to show up. The gov. don’t like this as we are looking out for our selves but there is no one else.

  15. The police and Crown Prosecutor are only using the laws supported by the Harper Conservative government.
The right of self-defence or to protect life is derived from the Charter and Common-Law Right to Life. It is this that is violated by Canada’s current gun laws.
Clearly, Canada’s firearms laws, police, prosecuting attorneys, and politicians have a priority. It’s to protect violent criminals.
The message sent is, if you survive an attack on your life and are able to repel a criminal attack, the last person you want to call is the police.
If you, with your dying breath call 9-11, then the police will arrive and honour you with a band of yellow tape around your corpse.

  16. Nailed it, Rex. Our modern state does indeed fear citiznes who can think, act, and defend themselves.
Why, imagine if this ever got out of hand! Think of the state apparatus that would no longer be needed.

  17. Yet, Saanich police just made a gun bust, with a -former- employee of Island Outfitters who had embezzled/stolen dozens of guns over a four year period.
Police credit the long gun registry with the find.
I worry that more and more, the police are becoming gun carrying bureaucrats, enforcing social engineering policies of socialist politicians, rather than enforcing real law and order.
Smoking is bad, but injecting illegal drugs – good.
What is our country coming to, a police state?

  18. What is our country coming to, a police state?
Canada has been a police state since the RCMP were formed more than a hundred years ago. The iron fist in the velvet glove.

  19. A policeman’s worse fear. A populace that can defend themselves. Vigilantism is just a jumped up excuse. Most people left to themselves as we have seen from our pioneer past, makes the Law paramount equally for all. With a body entrusted to keep it that way. Its only when government gets big without accountability. Does the law become in disrepute by using the police as political props, to enforce personnel agendas. Laws that only are taxes in disguise or foolish laws for grandstanding.

  20. How Is it unsafe storage if he is in care and control of the firearm?
It isn’t, it’s in use. A firearm is only ‘in storage’ if the licensed owner is not in attendance. The charges should be thrown out, but of course the ‘justice business’ isn’t renowned for being impartial, unbiased and fair.
Good advice I received from a ‘front line’ police officer:
if you have to defend yourself don’t wound them and be sure to drag the body across the threshold into the house before you call us, it makes our job easier and less hassle for you.

  21. It’s not the front line Officers that are all for the registry..it’s the appointed bureaucrats that are trying to keep their jobs by saying what their bosses want to hear. A line Officer has some relief through his contract and Union…once you cross to management, you have no such protection and if some anti-gun lobbyist complains loud enough to an elected official, then they get replaced…hence the political caving of police chiefs and their innate political bent.
