    The blacks do it all the time with black newspapers, clubs, tv networks, colleges etcetera….

  8. Never realized how polititical the movement had become. Looks like the kids have been hijacked by the treehugger movement (“We can save the planet”) with gay pride lurking in the background. Wonder what happened to the neutral innocence of just enjoying the great outdoors with volunteer parents seeing to it that the kids just had a good time. Like everything else, the social engineers have screwed it up.

Based on the Guide’s World Thinking Day theme, they might just as well join with the Scouts and allow membership by any male, female, or variant thereof, throw in Goats (because, you know, animals have rights too), and rename the outfit, the Watermelon Youth. Another victory for Political Correctness.

  11. I drove bus for a Girl Guide event last summer for a week, and was very impressed with the organization, discipline and in general great, well behaved, polite kids and leaders. Even Harper gave up on fighting the “homosexual agenda politics”

  15. How dare kids who identify as female participate in female activities! How dare they try to better themselves through a organization created to empower people and teach them practical skills! Do what the blacks do.. If blacks have their own papers and magazines, they should also have their own bathrooms and sides of restaurants and proms.. Oh wait, that’s segregation and our society is supposedly against it.
    It’s not an issue liberal tree-huggers are fighting about (tree-huggers = environmentalists, not gender activists, btw). Liberals are like, okay, cool, why not, since everything is adult supervised anyways? Why not create a better generation of people who act in traditonal womanly roles? It’s the right who are trying to make something out of it. Why? To make sure there is someone more oppressed than you? To make sure you are above someone else, so that your opinion can count for more? And why bring up goats? To show how little you understand the topic at hand? C’mon people, what would Jesus do, take the trans girl as his own, or banish her? You know the answer.

    In the time of Jesus there weren’t all that many trannies, or wussy progressives, around so I don’t think transgender issues would have been a topic. Back then a guy who dressed as a girl would more than likely have worked in a brothel entertaining those who wanted to take a walk on the wildside. Kinda like how many of them today are escorts. This is how they “earn” the money to take care of the cost of sex change operations and hormone therapy to change themselves into their new genders.

    If there are sufficient mummies and daddies willing to support Girl Guides and let their little girls hanging out with mentally disturbed teenaged boys who dress up as girls, and if they fully financially support that organization, I have no dog in that fight.
    But I’m not going to pay for it. Because I think its double-plus ungood. And I’m not paying for the post-rape counseling, either. Mummy and daddy are going to pony up for that. Which is only fair, seeing as I’ll be stuck with the bill for incarceration.
    By the way Iberia, have you considered what the little girls think of this? My money says their collective opinion can be summed in one word: Eeww!
    Small children can show remarkably good sense sometimes. Professional Leftists, not so much.

    I read Kathy’s excellent article. Its disgusting how decent organizations that helped kids to learn to live in the real world while making friends. Has been infiltrated by the radical gay , left organizations that twist everything they touch into crap.
    Planned parenthood of all people.
    Using Children to abort children while pushing the Mythic GLBT agendas. How cunning. Parents don’t even know they support the evil groups that in actuality hate children. Those that want to exploit them sexually or mentally.
    Using a so called family friendly group to pimp for cash to annihilate Families. To store up wealth from them to topple all it used to stand for.
    Only the left with its Muslim brothers in the wish for the decline of civilization, could be so brazen with low guile.
    Thank God people like Kathy are exposing this putrid sore, hiding its leprosy with white robe’s. While building a tomb for social civility.

  28. I have every sympathy with people who are transgendered, but really, for all the press the subject gets these days you would be led to believe that it was a common problem. Every organization doesn’t need to have a transgendered policy any more than they need to have a leper policy or polio policy. I suspect that transgendered people are 1 in 1000 of the population, or even less. I have one son in beavers and one son in cubs, I was in cubs as a child. I think our local group is very good. I have a lesser opinion on the national organization.

They know that busy adults these days rarely ask their kids what they’re learning at school — or Brownies, Girl Guides, Cubs, or Scouts — so Girl Guides and its equivalents are an obvious choice of venue for pushing their agenda. Even though gay advocates say they’re for choice — for them — they’re very happy to foist their agenda on everyone else and then accuse those who choose not to go along with it as homophobic bullies. Gaping double standards abound.
    When Girl Guides promise every week to “be prepared” I don’t think they have in mind ensuring that condoms and feather boas accompany their scarves and insignias.

Johns Hopkins University used to perform surgery on transgendered people, truly believing that their problem was not a pathology: the doctors were sure that once the physical body was changed to “match” the belief of the patient that s/he was the opposite sex imprisoned in the wrong body, the patient would be able to settle down to a normal life and live happily. That’s not what happened.
    The doctors found that the physically changed patients continued to suffer from serious pathologies. The doctors’ verdict? “Transgenderism” is a form of mental illness: it’s not the body of the patient that’s out of whack: it’s the patient’s brain. The result at Johns Hopkins: they stopped doing sex change surgeries.
    It’s sad, but no surprise, that the PC sheeple at the Girl Guides have fallen for the LGBTetc. propaganda. Talk about inequality and a lack of social justice: ruin Guiding for the 99.99% in order to accommodate the 0.09% (who are probably minimally interested in becoming a Guide anyway). We are definitely living in crazy times.

  36. Diversity and tolerance are euphemisms used to force others into accepting a boundary-less society where every behavior, no matter how vile, can be justified and legitimized through empathy and compassion.
    All boundaries are abominable – Berlin walls that must be torn down.
    It seems that this group will not consider themselves victors until every man, women and child, engages simultaneously in a global orgy with one another – then and only then will the earth health itself and all will be connected – Utopia finally realized. Of course, there will be a massive global pride parade to celebrate dawning of the age of Aquarius.
    @ Lauren – Jesus would heal the transgender – eliminating the need for surgery or chemical castration – ie: make the person whole.

    True, except that Girl Guides Canada was asked about their policy (response: we’ll go case-by-case) and Girl Guides USA had to deal with exactly this type of scenario in Colorado.
    The fact is, this wouldn’t even be on your collective radars, and thus stirring up the famous SDA Self-Righteous Moral Indignation Froth Machine, if Sun News didn’t think there wasn’t enough of a socially conservative, homophobic market out there that they could pander to for ratings. Apparently they do, and apparently they’re right.
    So, now it’s about “radical gays” trying to “brainwash” our innocent children with their “LGBT agendas” rather than a single case of a family, out of a country of 300+ million, simply trying to find a compassionate and positive social space where their child — whom longtime SDA commenter Oz dismissively refers to, above, as some sort of demonic “it”, unworthy of God’s love — as can feel comfortable with herself.
    Congratulations, you’re all such admirable (self-appointed) guardians of the Christian virtues of compassion and love.

  40. The way the “social justice” movement is headed, I wouldn’t be surprised if one day it’s declared that the political party with the fewest votes is the winner and gets to run the country. Why not? Isn’t that exactly what is happening in every other sector of Canadian society – especially schools where impressionable young, not fully matured brains reside – plump for experimentation.
    Davenport: Do you not realize that gender neutrality is being espoused by school boards all across Canada? This isn’t a simple case of one child wanting to join Girl Guides – it’s an extension of what is happening in the school system with very young children who could care less and frankly don’t want to know about . It’s an experiment in which all children are forced to partake in – a parent cannot remove their child from this curriculum, even if they could it would not matter because the teaching is embedded and is cross-curricular.
    Teacher’s can no longer refer to students as girls and boys and must use inclusive gender neutral terms only. Teachers are also being instructed not to say that it’s normal to be attracted to the opposite sex which is simply not true as a full 95% of the population are.
    What is the justification for changing the English language to accommodate a tiny minority and encouraging ALL children to question whether their biological sex fits with their “true” gender. It’s not social justice when the reality of 95% of the population is ignored.

    Glad you saved the web address because it seems to be hard to find now. Should be mandatory reading for everyone that has doubts on how perverted the education system has become. They are even proud of the fact that Pride is setting direction. Sick, sick and sicker. Our taxes at work. When one goes through the BCTF website there is no doubt our kids are pawns in a much bigger game. Small wonder they can barely read/write and are mathematically challenged if the batteries go dead on their calculators. If I still had kids in public schools I would work 3 jobs if necessary to get them out of the system and into private schools or dedicate myself to home schooling. The public schools are out of control.

    I guess s/he tunes into only the CBC and reads EXTRA. S/he seems to be utterly clueless when it comes to what’s happening in our schools, and probably shouldn’t comment at all on something about which s/he’s so obviously misinformed.

    The Toronto District School Board has no clue about inclusion and “social justice”. Read its resource material for indoctrinating our children into accepting and celebrating the gay lifestyle: all readily available on-line.
    The following questions are actually included in the resources for teachera—it’s on-line too. I’ve changed the wording to reflect what the social engineers at the TDSB really mean.
    What about informing parents when the gay agenda’s going to be presented to their kids (in the guise of anti-bullying)? NO.
    What about parents who have religious objections and wish to have their children removed from presentations of gay propaganda? NO.
    What about teachers whose religious convictions are severely compromised by the gay agenda and their being expected to promote it to innocent children? May a teacher opt out? NO. (But I’ll bet this “fair-minded” board will let Muslim teachers off the hook!)
    In the JK-3 instructional group (ages 3-8), the resource encourages the children to watch images from the gay pride parade—many of them grossly pornographic: a live link is provided. The board brags about its float and school bus in the parade.
    And that’s just the tip of this deadly iceberg, whose purpose—again, stated right up front—is to favour “historically disadvantaged groups”. Except for being a woman, I sure don’t qualify—nor do most Canadians. The narrow-minded social engineers of the “social justice” crew don’t give a toss for the rights and freedoms of anyone who doesn’t share their jackboot mentality. What bigots! The promotion of the gay agenda and other “social justice” issues is non-egalitarian, intolerant, divisive, non-inclusive, (and exclusionary!), fascistic, utterly HYPOCRITICAL: add your own words!
    One can’t make this stuff up. The promotion of the gay agenda has always been a threat, and it used to be a side show—a dangerous one, but on the fringes. It’s now front and centre everywhere one looks. “It’s the love that won’t shut up.” (Noel Coward, I think.)

Fact: Gender identity disorder is a mental illness, and the BLT crowd are trying to tell us via educators and special interest groups that it’s not an illness it’s socially constructed genders via gay activists. What’s next teaching people with eating disorders how to vomit? Or telling the public we must acknowledge the voices in people’s heads. They are trying to force us to accept mental disorders, their psychosis and delusions as normal instead of getting those people help.

In future let us refer to Davenport as “it”. No wait, Davenport doesn’t like that either. It seems she, he and it are equally unacceptable to enlightened individuals such as Davenport, and a brand-new pronoun is therefore required.

Sort of on Ellie’s topic—though who knows about Davenport?—there’s a term I’ve just recently come across: it’s “cisgender”: that’s the no boundary sexualists’ term for those who actually feel comfortable with their biological gender and its associated roles. E.g., I’d be a cis female because I was happy to marry a man and I love being a mother, etc.
    What will these troubled, trouble-making people come up with next?

    What I do know is it’s one more sign of the utter crassness and craziness of the “no boundaries” subversives. I know I’m called to “love [my] enemies”, but it’s very hard!
