A privacy issue hmmm….. How many bets they take money from the Saudis or the Iranians. What a bunch of scum.
So far I learned why those raging grannies are so angry…they never get laid.
I wonder what John’s position is on tranfer payments? Soverienty?…
So funny watching him trying to defend the Chinese the worst polluters on the Planet while whining about Alberta who has an enviable record.
They are simply dupes for other Nations who want to wound our industries.
Albertans are proud of our wilderness areas. We don’t need dweebs telling us how to clean house.
Foreign imps at that. They have an agenda World wide only they concentrate on Democracies. No one else is stupid enough to allow these Luddites to destroy their Nations.
There Earth worshipers. Look at their statement
Sierra Club Policies
Humans have evolved as an interdependent part of nature. Humankind has a
powerful place in the environment, which may range from steward to destroyer. We must
share the Earth’s finite resources with other living things and respect all life-enabling
processes. Thus, we must control human population numbers and seek a balance that
serves all life forms.
Complex and diversified ecosystems provide stability for the Earth’s life support
processes. Development and other human activities can simplify ecosystems, undermine
their dynamic stability, and threaten these processes. Wildness itself has a value serving
all species, with too few remaining. We have more to fear from too little wildness than
from too much.
Genetic diversity is the product of evolution acting on wildness, and is important
because it is biological capital for future evolution. We must preserve genetic diversity in
wild tracts and gene pools. No species should be hastened into extinction by human
intervention.

Ban opioids. After all when people come into the ER with a broken leg its not good for anything. Kind of like oil, there are benefits and there are harms. A real person judges accordingly.
Anyway just once I would love to see these environmental fakers who make tons of personal income off of naive donors actually live like its the late 1400’s. (No whale oil either because it hurts whales). They think their little windmills don’t have an environmental impact during the production of the motors et al.
The video’s not loading for me. All the other main page videos are. Anyone else having the same problem?
Whoops. Works now.
John Bennett/Sierra Club
Definition of “Corporate Whore”
Were you as impressed as I was when he enlightened us with how he was a Grandpa.
Yup, I got all teary eyed when I heard that one.
What a foolish tool!
Yes, Humankind is on this planet. There is no equivalent. Moral or otherwise. We were given STEWARDSHIP of the planet. Our responsibility is to God and Man not Al Gore or David Suzuki, both fraudulent pukes of the first order, right along with this idiot.
His comment regarding oil being responsible for climate change is another canard hoisted without any regard to the TRUTH of the East Anglia e-mails.
And in my view, if they want to participate they better be coughing up a list of donors. Pronto.
What most impressed me in this video was the cool temper of Brian Lilley. The Sierra club dope is one of the most irritating ‘grate on your nerves like a fingernail running down a blackboard’ individuals that I could possibly imagine. Who would be in the same room with that ilk?
The grating, whiny, demanding personna of that fellow might be the ‘key’ to his success – sane people pay him to go away.
Or smack em.
I am amazed that these folks actually believe that they are keepers of absolute Knowledge… They have seen all there IS (Like seeing the Light) and they have determined there is nothing but their World view. I am a 71-Year-old optimist that believes that Oil will not be the primary Energy Source for much longer (50 years). All the nonsense they are worried about will be history and the Communist threat will be defeated…
It is said that a little Knowledge is dangerous, the water melons have very-very little.
I think these folks may be 60’s suicidal druggies..
Why do they call it oil sands?
According to grampa, they changed the name to make it “sound better”.
By this logic, he (and all like minded cronies) call it tar sands to make it sound worse.
And he worries about environmental impacts that have been stacking up for 40 years without the attention of government.
I wonder how this environmental impact compares, say – to the city of Detroit – for one. Or the sum total of all the scrap yards and garbage dumps in North America. Or all the iron ore and other open face mining operations.
Kate can say more in 11 words than some people manage to say in an entire novel.
That is one batshit crazy grampa.
I never realized that the “great bear rainforest” was an area that had never been glaciated. Silly me thinking that the whole of BC was under a mile or so of ice a mere 13000 years ago. The watermelon did say this was the last area in BC that was the same as it always was and to me “always” would imply that it survived glaciations.
This inability to understand that the world’s ecosystems are in constant change is a glaring defect of those who call themselves “environmentalists”. Another interesting example of how generally people tend to mean the opposite of what they say and so “sustainability” means keeping the environment precisely as it was in the year a person first converted to the watermelon religion and natural change is perceived as evil and obviously has to be blamed on humans. Anyone who studies ecology in depth realizes that the “balance” watermelons talk about exists only in their imaginations and environments in which there is a massive human influence. Probably the reason they like the chicoms so much is the chicom one child policy which fulfills the watermelon goal of eliminating people from the planet (aside from themselves and a small peasant population to do the menial work that they would never do).
These morons need to be attacked hard and relentlessly. There are a lot of idiots like this in BC and they infest the BC government. The US has laws which prohibit money from outside the country influencing the US political process. This is a law that the NRA has carefully observed as I found out when I attempted to donate to their political fund in 2008 (didn’t stop Obozo from raising foreign money but then he has no morals). Time to make the sources of watermelon cash public or throw the bastards in jail if they refuse to acknowledge where they’re getting their money. Interestingly, the climate realist side is routinely described as getting huge amounts of money from oil companies whereas the watermelons paint themselves as impoverished groups trying to fight the super-rich corporate anti-CAGW organizations. I think the disparity in funding was on the order of 5000:1 in favor of the watermelons. The reason those idiots are losing the battle of public opinion is that reality is on our side. At least Baghdad Bob was amusing – we all saw how that propaganda worked out in the end.
Obama redeemed himself in environmentalists’ eyes late last year. First, he delayed a decision to build a pipeline to bring (tar) sands oil from Canada to the Texas Gulf Coast.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who once backed a regional program to reduce greenhouse gases, has proposed removing carbon dioxide from the list of pollutants controlled by the Clean Air Act and amending environmental laws so that cost, as well as the health benefits, can be considered.
Now:
Someone tell me again why I should cast my valuable vote for Oblamer?
If you really want an eyeopener on what is going on, you must read the UN Agenda 21 program. They have even infected our Municipal Planning Boards with the ideas pumped out by the Unelected UN in Agenda 21, a huge Green Communist Wealth Redistribution Policy. Don’t believe me, go to our own Federation of Canadian Municipalities and click on International Foreign Aid Programs and see how puffed up local politicians are using property taxes on their Foreign Aid Programs. http://www.fcm.ca click on International. Word for word from the UN’s Agenda 21 Program.
Vacuous enviromarxist malarkey
So in the Seirra Clubs pov those that don’t want to freeze in the dark are equated to drug addicts?
The comparisons are endless.
How does Bennett get around, does he have a solar powered or electric car or share a broomstick with Lizzie?
Sierra club, file under Jackasses.
Headline: “B.C. sells Lamborghini forfeited in street racing case”
What they need is a safe racing site where community health workers can hand out clean Lamborghinis to street racers.
Well I hope that this dope from the Sierra Club walks the walk because he certainly shoots off his big mouth.
Oil is evil – worse than heroine? Really? Well, I hope that he rode his bike to get to the interview – no actually – he can’t have a bike because he would have have tires…made from oil.
He better not own a vehicle or consume any products made from oil. Until the world finds an alternate source of fuel, oil must be extracted from the earth. I hope that this Sierra dope lives right off the grid otherwise he is a huge hypocrite.
I have written to Ministers Joe Oliver, Peter Kent and PM Harper supporting them and telling them that as a Canadian, I demand that they step in and restore the integrity and fairness to the environmental review assessments that have been highjacked by non Canadians and radical groups funded by foreigners with an ulterior motive, namely dollars. All foreigners should butt out of decisions that affect our economy.
I support PM Harper imposing new rules to apply to the review assessment that are unbiased, legitimate and fair. Right now, the assessments have been turned into farces. I will not believe the decisions that come out presently from these assessments because the process has been tainted.
“The great bear rainforest is the last…” BS. I grew up in northwestern BC. My hometown of 500 is now 300 greying heads and dwindling because there are no jobs, no future, for young families. Obstructionist groups like the local Indians prevent any activities from developing, in part because there’s no security of land tenure. The Sierra Club are classic BANANAs, and I would favour forcing members to live in the areas that they are legally active against (northern BC, northern Alberta) without the amenities that make survival for modern populations in these areas possible. It will never happen. One of the unfortunately side effects of being a rich and free society is that the parasites become correspondingly fat and large.
Ah Kate, here is the next free injection site:
http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/01/10/vancouver-group-pitches-free-booze-to-reduce-rubbing-alcohol-listerine-consumption/
Push back, is all we can do, write our MP’s and MLA’s, let them know that to fund these parasitic Sierra liars in any way shape or form is to deny a future job to a useful member of society who will get his money honestly by working an honest job. Shaking down demented old ladies in homes and extorting money from big corporations like Sierra Club, Suzuki Foundation Pembina etc currently do, along with being funded by uber wealthy “capitalists” from foreign countries is detestable in the least. Get an honest job Mike Hudenema and John Bennett along with the rest of your gaia travellers, I want my children to have jobs and contribute to society, not be an embarrassment like your ilk is. You and your kind are the incarnation of the lemming in a humanoid form.
He’s full of tar s–t. (I say that because it sounds better.)
I’m a Granfather too and my grand children need and want jobs. Not a welfare cheque.
What Loki and renee said.
I have to applaud Brain for listening to the tripe Bennett spews without blowing his lid.

Don’t laugh, but now some are asking for free booze for alcoholics to keep them off hand sanitizer. Well, my car can be converted to run on alcohol and it’s addicted to consuming that then!

“I don’t want to talk about that.”
Translation: I am morally superior than you, and won’t give you the benefit of trying to dissuade me.
What an arrogant communist idiot
Bennett is that most irritating and delusional kind of person in any endeavour whether it concerns the environment, politics, business, race, nationalism or religion: he’s a zealot.
“We don’t normally talk about who donates to us, because it’s a privacy issue.”
Imagine for a moment the media reaction if the president of the Conservative Party responded that way to a question about suspected foreign donations.
It’s a pipe running through a remote forest!
Why is this pipe so horrifically devasting to culture and ecosystems? I work on a natural gas drilling rig north of Hinton Alberta, and it takes hours to drive up there and there’s nothing around there.
Who cares if some pipe is running through a forest nobody ever sees?
As for the potential oil spill worry….You don’t give up eating for fear of choking.
One of the policy positions passed at the CPCs Ottawa conevention in June (if I recall correctly) was to reform the legislation surrounding registered charities. One of the key parts up for change is the mandating making donors over a certain dollar amount made public.
What a stupid point — it is the last rain forest of its type on earth. Well, so what. I dare say a few million years ago something quite different was growing on that patch of land. Nothing is forever; everything is temporary. What would happen if a fire ravaged this forest? Nature would replenish it, that’s what. Nature does not tolerate vacuums. When one thing is destroyed, something else replaces it.
I doubt running an oil pipeline through the woods would destroy the forest. There would be some damage done but that is true of any human activity. Does this Bennett character live in a house? That house stands on what was once a natural environment. Are we all to live like animals so as to avoid disturbing the natural environment?
This Bennett character must think we are all idiots and as hypocritical as he is.
The Sierra Club is fully on the robber baron foundation/trusts funding teat. The financial oligarchs who run these funds have large investment in non domestic oil production. Go figure why they fund hair shirt commies through their trust/foundation laudromats to rail against domestic oil producers.
If a bear farts in the forest, does anyone hear it?
The Sierra club is like the ASPC,they give no money to environmental causes. The ASPC gives no money to animal welfare. They are both set up to fund the people working for them and they get their monies from dupes and foreign entities that have their own agenda.
As Jeff said, there’s bugger all out there in the areas everyone’s so worried about. I suggest a fly over of the route, just to drive home the point how silly it is to worry about a little pipeline. There was never an indigenous human population, despite all these aboriginal claims. On top of that, any spill would be easily contained.
Disappointed Mr. Lilley didn’t challenge him when he stated oil kills more people than heroin.
Course he was spinning one lie after another.
There is no “Great Bear Rainforest”. It’s just coastal coniferous forest, like the rest of the B.C. and S.E. Alaska coast. It’s a totally fabricated name, made up in support of an anti-development agenda.
The Kermodei bear is merely a colour variant of the common black bear. They are cute, but no reason for stopping development, even if it could be proven that such development would diminish their numbers. Black bears tend to thrive on the fringes of human habitation, anyway.
Time for Stephen Harper to declare that the Northern Gateway pipeline, and all similar large projects are matters of national security, and that no blind obstructionism will be brooked at all. You want to suggest a minor re-routing to avoid an Indian burial ground or a salmon spawning site, fine. You want to block the project altogether, or delay it indefinitely, then off to jail for espionage.

Thanks Fred.
Grandpa is a slick snake.
On the same vein if you want to read an elitist, arrogant, left wing rag pick up the North Toronto Post. It is delivered free to our area as I would never pay for this crap.
The NTP if filled with the activities of Toronto elite with their food, columns from leftist councillors like Mihevc, former lefty mayor Sewell with his column “Will budget cuts push kids to Crime?”, Suzuki attacking Sun Media and their support of the TAR SANDS “Of course, one of the Sun TV’s major personalities, Ezra Levant, has strong ties to the Harper government” and the latest arts grant recipients.
Is there any wonder Toronto voted solid Liberal and NDP in the last Ontario election?
That the NTP supported Smitherman goes without saying. They constantly attack Mayor Ford with writings like “say what you will about the inability of Doug’s (Ford)kid brother to govern the city” or Peter Kent when “to much criticism, (only from the left)pulled the country out of the Kyoto Protocol” “that was supposed to stop the climate from changing before we suffer dire consequences such as, well, drought, famine, disease”.
“Oil kills more people than heroin”!
He lost me at that point, about thirty seconds in.
Sierra club is no different than any other radical group, they throw around words,”sustainable”,etc.,but never make their interpretation of said words clear. We need oil,and the pipelines that carry it to the markets.
Sierra and other enviro radicals shut down industry whenever they can, and offer no alternatives.
“Great Bear Rainforest” is a BS invention of Greenpeace and a few other radicals. The name only caught on because their fellow travellers in the MSM referred to the coastal forest by that name repeatedly.
B.C. isn’t pristine wilderness, nor should it be. This Province drove a large part of the Canadian economy for many years because we developed our resources.
Good post gordinkneehill at January 11, 2012 11:03 AM.
All true.
I still chuckle from time to time when I recall the earnest warnings about the dangers of a pipeline to the cariboo when in fact the warmth enhanced their amorousness increasing the pitter patter of little hooves.
I shall never, ever forget my first motorcycle ride from Vancouver up to Yukon and Alaska. I kept thinking, it’s ALL trees. How could anyone in BC be worried about trees!? Behold the awesome power of warm/fuzzy lefty-language and commie propaganda!
I was disappointed with the missed opportunities in that interview, tho it must be conceded that being that physically close to the loon would be very difficult and disorienting.
…and stomach turning.
Kudos to Brian Lilly, I would not be able to sit in conversation with that old irritating fool for more than a minute before jumping across the desk and beating his smirking face to an unrecognizable pulp. He is the enemy of freedom and prosperity. His grand kids will piss on his grave if he happens to have his way in this issue.
