Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Just like Canada when Layton died and he will get a state funeral also.
Onery arf way fru, but this is hilarious … but then I am not the intended audience/
How appropriate that it happened on “National Bad Hair Day”
OK Guys. This was not a video aimed at us. It was aimed at the poor saps who do not have electricity, hot & cold running water or, even at times, food. The money shot was the last seen .. the young girl, although “obviously” completely bereft, that no matter what, she will ramain loyal to the new great leader, UN.
To various posters, I do not think these people are showing genuine sadness, nor doing it out of ignorance. They basically have to do it to get an extra rice, or tea, or whatever, ration. The communist regimes have, historically, been the most vile when it comes to treating the population. We will probably see soon how the Islamists measure up on the scale of vile. (Egypt, Libya, Tunisia)

“Well,they ARE all fashionably thin”.
Except for the politburo who seem to be doing alright at the hash line. Maybe Kim followed more than just his fashion sense from Graceland.

Good one.
Can you hear all the US welfare bums howling when the Great Leader Zero bites it…..
Massive display of “Stockholm Syndrome”
Lets all join together and sing; “It’s a lovely day in the neighborhood”. It”s a hoot…keep showing us more!
Pure Mr Rogers entertainment!
It’s obvious why they’re crying.
They live a rogue state with a massive army, possibly with nuclear capability, located in a strategically critical part of the world, ruled by a very young inexperienced man who almost no one — even the Koreans — know much about and who was selected solely because he’s a son of the former leader. And oh yeah, he has absolute power with no way of removing him.
I would cry too.
I couldn’t finish watching it. The overacting is too much to bear. To be forced to do this is degrading to the human spirit.
The officer on his knees pounding his fist on the cement was a bit tacky, as well.
OR, just a thought here, they could be rejoicing in an oriental way because they’re finally rid of the SOB and he’s already burning in He*l.
MENTAL-E-ILL
Cry me a river!
I would be crying uncontrolably too if I knew the alternative was an all expense paid trip to a concentration camp.
Doggon shame; sure didn’t spare the ugry stick on Jong-eun.
If you will note in the second clip at about 1:20, there is this guy wailing in front of the camera.
Behind him are two younger guys looking as though wandering what it is they should do, looking around at others and then they get it and begin to hit the pavement.
These people, once they are in public, must, there is no choice, start their wailing. If they were seen not to do that, they may not be seen to do anything else afterwards. Ever.
That is how totalitarian diktat works.
It’s a bizarre world.
Reminds me of the CBC after Trudeau died. They also pretended that most Canadians didn’t loathe him, or were glad that the communist was gone.
Maybe Kim will have the same pallbearers…
these Occupy protests are getting pretty weak
nuke ’em and put ’em out of their misery.
Look at all the NDP bawling over losing the gun registry.
I’m not sad, you shouldn’t be either.

No joke. North Koreans are reduced to living on 200 grams (roughly 2 cups) of food a day:
“It is understood the state has slashed food rations to just 200 grams a day.”

Even dead, Kim Jong-Il manages to squeeze the life out of his people. What a total b—–d.
My mother told me that when Stalin died the mass grieving and hysteria were quite real.
Much of what is seen on the video looks totally fake, but don’t underestimate the ability of a tyrant to brainwash an entire population that has known nothing but his propaganda their entire lives.
old Lori,
I was 8 years old when Stalin died, lived in a socialist paradise run by communists.
What your mother told you is the truth.
The teachers in school behaved as though that was the end of the world.
I actually saw Stalin live when he visited my hometown, the dictator was standing on the steps of university about a block from the Danube waving his clasped hands as the communist aristocrats are wont to do.
Surprisingly, there was very little security around, I could walk around all the way to the steps and nobody stopped the kid.
old Lori >
I don’t know, I’ve only cried like that when “from my cold dead hands” Charlton Heston died.
These people are Liberals in starving Korean sheep’s clothing; they probably even want a gun registry, or worse.
What’s the going rate for a rent-a-mob in Pyongyang these days?
I suppose they could be crying because now they’re so ronery too …
But far more likely, Kate @ 4:47 p.m. nails it.
First Shiatsu Jack, now Lil’ Kim. These Bolshie icons are dropping like flies. I suppose taxidermists will be working overtime to preserve these pinko heroes.
no surprise here at the sanctimonious postings here about what is far more likely a case of real if misdirected and abnormal emotion brought on by some 60 years of TOTAL brainwashing.
you SDA regulars are so narrow minded on the ‘way things work’; it is a real phenomenon, abuse victims for example, feeling lost and genuine shock when their tormenter is finally brought to justice because THAT’S ALL THEY’VE EVER KNOWN.
instead you people turn in into something expected from the david letterman writers.
meanwhile, why doesnt s. korea have a secret nuke program? one, just *one* nuke missile from the north and they get hit with a hundred in response. it works for Israel, why not them? super secret talks at the very top level. a phone call to get the thing started. just a phone call. Im sure the jews are very capable of providing a complete package including training, transport, ‘turn key’ operation.
Simple I should vote for who?, because S.korea doesn’t want the north. Or really anything to do with them. Outside of the leftist academia, the average person there wants nothing to do with it. They learned their lesson watching east and west germany reunite and the social and economic cost of it. And have pretty much said that it’s china’s problem.
“no surprise here at the sanctimonious postings here about what is far more likely a case of real if misdirected and abnormal emotion brought on by some 60 years of TOTAL brainwashing.”
That explains the pinko reaction to Shiatsu Jack’s demise given the mainstream media’s (led by the taxpayer-funded CBC) worship of wastrel lefties, but what about North Korea?
As Abe Lincoln observed, “You may fool all the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time.”
Pythonesque, is what it is. Did someone yell, “Mic Check, Mic Check? Waah Boo Hoo?”
Jeez these bots even form up in ranks to wail their grief.
Which tabloid headlined: NORK Dork Drops Dead?
Surely one of them did. How could they resist?
meanwhile…. ‘bama’s in tears because he never got a chance to bow before kim or apologize for taking so long to hand South Korea to him…
From the National Post Dec.19th in the Holy Post column: “Though this brutal dictator, who was responsible for so many atrocities, has died, the future is still unknown. Some speculate that his son Kim Jong Un will be just as cruel to all dissenters. Others suggest that he may be more lenient. We simply do not know,” said Carl Moeller, President an CEO of Open Doors USA, which monitors the persecution of Christians in dozens of nations.
“This is why it is vital that Christians around the world pray for North Korea during this transitional time. Pray especially for the brave Christians inside North Korea. They are fearful that they might face even more suffering,” he said.
I should vote for who? >
“..is far more likely a case of real if misdirected and abnormal emotion brought on by some 60 years of TOTAL brainwashing.”
I suppose that explains the lefts sadness and constant media coverage over here with lil kim’s death.
The leftist MSM and blogosphere won’t drop the story, with their long faces and apologist spins. A half a century of brainwashing about sums it up or they’re simply nuts. Me thinks a little of both.
If the new Kim is “more lenient”, won’t the ensuing freedom mean an increase in greenhouse gases? I can see why the LaytonSuzuki Drones are so teary eyed. Freezing and starving in the dark is very green.
Robert of Ottawa said: “We will probably see soon how the Islamists measure up on the scale of vile. (Egypt, Libya, Tunisia)”
Islamists are strictly amateurs. They’ve got plenty of vile on tap for the small-scale horrors sure enough, but they lack the organizational ability to pull off the really large scale atrocities that Marxists are famous for.
This is why I don’t worry much about the damage Barry is doing by pulling out of Iraq right now and basically turning the place over to the Iranians. For the really big stuff like an authentic genocide, they don’t have what it takes to get the job done.
A few years from now Iran/Iraq will p1ss off the West again, their vast conscript armies will meet our volunteers in the field again, and we will roll them up like a cheap carpet. Again.
@ The Phantom
Respectfully disagree. When you look at what was accomplished in 8 years of war, the American public would never allow it. The 800+ billion spent has nothing to show for it and the more than 4000 dead and 50000 injured would prohibit any return to a land war. You are certainly right in that we would roll them up like a cheap carpet again. And then what? The idea was to bring them Democracy. No one asked if they wanted it. They didn’t. Personally, I like the Idea of turning the whole country into a parking lot, but that’s just me. Or leave them alone to sort out their own problems. Decisions…….decisions…
I notice a lot of Crying, but not one tear!!!

“..the American public would never allow it”.
If you mean “the American public” as it speaks through Congress, that non debate and precedent was set by Obamba in Libya.
Congress no longer has any real voice, Obamba and subsequent presidents will drop bombs and troops wherever they please from here on in. This is not the “publics” America anymore; regardless of how many times people repeat that it is to themselves or in the media. There is a one party American government today, regardless of which side of the coin people wish to choose, it’s the same coin whether it’s heads or tails.
My take on the Iraqi pullout is that Obamba and his cronies know full well it’ll fall into chaos and Iranian hands.
What better justification to finally launch against Iran.
I could see the definite advantage of pulling Iranian troops thinner into Iraq and have them besieged with carefully planned American backed insurgencies. They have’ had ten years to carefully lay infrastructure for it in place (arms, bunkers & people). Then later hit them in the homeland with civil uprisings and eventual armed force.
