On Sunday a conference attended by about 300 people was held at an Islamic centre in Toronto. The National Post’s Joseph Brean describes the festivities:
(…)…the Christmas Day underwear bomber was described as the tool of an Israeli plot; Barack Obama was referred to as “Mr. Black Man”; al-Qaeda was called “the figment of the imagination of the West”; and a video was shown that mocked 9/11 by putting the Muppet Show logo over slow-motion footage of the second plane’s impact, with screams of terror for audio.
The program started with a prayer from the Koran, sung beautifully by a boy in Arabic, and translated to English by another boy who, by his tone, clearly understood its message about the punishment of cities for their depravity.
Seems a bit standoffish, to me…

It sounds deranged to me. What ought to be done is for the moderate Muslims to openly state that this babble does not represent them. People like Tarek Fatah, Salim Mansur have both commented on, openly and strongly, against this type of babble quite often.
Take a look at Salim Mansur’s Toronto Sun column on anti-semitism of Feb 12. It’s strong.

What Salim Mansur states, and what he feels may not be the same. He may be feinting to get us to lower our guard. I find it harder and harder to trust any of them. I never used to feel this way, but I can’t help it now.
I chaperoned a bus load of athletes, last week, and there were two muslim teens on the bus. I had a nice chat with them, made a few jokes, and everything was fine. They even ate ham sandwiches, with a laugh, because the caterer didn’t bother making anything else. Now, I read this crap, and all that good will, and empathy gets lost. I hate feeling this way.
In my view, stated numerous times here, they will not stand up against their own. I have read that the “vast’ majority of Muslims are not only peacefull but condone acts of violence in the name of Islam but are all to ready to bend over rather than stand up. I would say it’s typical of the Canadian nature but these traits are global in nature. Canada seems to be sublime to the slow march. The PC crowd are so proud of our tollerance, we mull about the lack of the appropriate amount of french in the Olympic’s opening ceremony, the fact that our government’s environmental leadership is in the green toilet and 300 mouth breathers can gather to say what they want about the country they so distain. Canada is a great country…..it’s too bad those that seem to arrive here no sooner get here that they start to try and turn it into the fouking sheit hole that they fled.
How well are the tv nets covering this? Are they covering it at all?
The time has come for not for profit groups to by ad time and air some of this anti-Canada stuff.

They are not exreemists, that is islam, read up there are translations, I read up on it some time back, I had a customer who is a lapsed muslim (maybe because they have this get out clause, all the tennets of islam can safely be ignored if the reason is to kill, cure or harm infadels) for the last 100 years islam has been activated by the meglomaniacs and they are goung to take over a lot of europe using birthrate alone.
IIRC this mosque in York Region took part in the Doors Open event recently and presented itself in the media as moderate. Apparently the mask has slipped.

I have come to think there are no extreme muslims—–just muslims—-and moderate muslims are a leftist myth….rare at best…..and hunted by the majority.
Gulf state arabs seem somewhat civilized….
But then there are Pakistanis, Chechins, Pashtuns, Pushtins, Tajics etc that extend up into central asia are lost souls much like the arabs. In Afghanistan, Al Qaida fighters hail from every nation of the Mahgreb. Eygptians, Libyans, Tunisians, Morrocans, Algerians…..Our all time favourites the Sudanese and the Somali’s and Yemeni’s. Five Feet of Fury posted the keynote speaker’s e-mail address, a Michael Keefer at the University of Guelph. His brand of nastiness is quoted in the National Post article. If you e-mail him, e-mail the president of the U of G as well, let them know that such factually challenged virtrol is bad PR.
I too cannot view Muslims in a tolerant manner anymore. The problem is Islam, not (most) Muslims, they’re decieved. But they must be challenged and held accountable fornthe fruits of their deception. I have a relative who as a teacher is almost by default left wing. She does not the Muslim boys in her class who will not respect her authority accountable for their own actions. They were raised with a different culture and heaven forbid we find another culture or religion (except Christianity) wanting. She is not the only female teacher I know who has problems with Muslim boys in their classes. How can we be tolerant of such intolerance?
If “moderate” Muslims do not stand up to these people with us, they are part of the problem.

There’s a great, huge wack of Canadians that are meek and tolerant….and then there’s the other bunch of Canadians that are not…may they multiply.
You cannot be a moderate Muslim any more than you can be a moderate Catholic or a moderate Nazi.
You can be a half-assed version of any of the above, but that’s not at all the same thing.

Stories like this only accentuate the absurdity of the various HRCs and their concerted attack on Canadian values such as tolerance and free speech. Just recall all the incessant attacks on otherwise civil discourse, ie Macleans, and yet, vitriol such as occurred in this Islamic conference spews unabated. And largely unreported.
Let them show themselves for their true selves with their own words. I just wish the HRCs would stop hamstringing moderate Canadians as we try to accelerate that unveiling. (pun intended)
