Speaking from personal experience as a drug addict and alcoholic clean and sober for 17 years. To legalize destructive addictive drugs because an addictive destructive (to alcoholics) drug (alcohol)is already legal, would only multiply the problem and make it worse.
“Caffeine has caused and are still causing million times more pain and suffering.” Wow you must know something I don’t.
As for my opinion on MSG Fluoride and caffeine for that matter I am of the opinion that anything including even water, can harm you taken in excess.

  2. Leftard sex-ed report calls for kindergarten sex-ed classes and also this gem:
    —————————-
“The information and services that work for a 14-year-old Asian lesbian are not going to be the same as what works for an 18-year-old straight African male who is a newcomer to Canada,” said Flicker.
One of the report’s 70 recommendations included tailoring sexual health programs to a diverse youth population and ensuring that staff at clinics reflects that diversity.

So, not only do we need to develop programs for “Asian lesbians”, but we need Asian lesbians on staff at every clinic in case an Asian lesbian needs advice. FFS.

  3. It’s good that you are admitting that you know little, Alan. That’s the first step. If only you could make a 2nd one and actually learn more, that would be very refreshing.
Do you for example understand that you cannot opt out of MSG and fluoride poisoning, as opposed to the drugs and alcohol? Opting out of MSG ingestion means grinding your own flour, so to speak. And many readers on this forum who get their water from a well don’t even comprehend the kind of poisoning I am talking about.

  4. In the “now is the time to juxtapose” segment, consider juxtaposing The big O’s speech to the Muslim world with his proclamation of June as “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.”
“I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans,” Obama says in the proclamation.
I wonder where that line was in his speech to the Muslim world (or anywhere else for that matter?”

  5. A Joe Volpe reprise?
    http://www.minnesotamajority.org/Home/tabid/112/EntryID/187/Default.aspx
Today, Minnesota Majority announced the discovery of individuals who were deceased prior to November 4, 2008, yet have voter history records on the secretary of state’s files that indicate they voted in the 2008 General Election.
Minnesota Majority employed a data enhancement service to flag potentially deceased individuals on Minnesota’s voter registration file. Over 2,800 individuals who voted in the 2008 general election were flagged as being “deceased” prior to the election. Minnesota Majority then selected a sample of a dozen records for additional investigation. A representative drove to addresses listed on voter registration records. Interviews conducted with residents or neighbors confirmed that at least 5 individuals from the sample were deceased, the latest having died in March 2007.
Resurrected voters, now there is a heavenly concept.

  7. Gary Valcour – why should Obama promote homosexuality and lesbianism to a culture that rejects both? Should he go to an orthodox Judaic community and promote such an idealogy?
His speech, which I maintain was a very good first speech – which ought to be a first of a Set of speeches – was geared, in my view, to the youth of the Middle East. He was not talking to Americans; he was not talking to the dictatorial leadership of the Middle East. He was talking only to the brainwashed young generation; I feel that he was trying to create a gap between this generation and their rigid old leaders. And this is, in my view, a correct first step.
So far, the reactions I’ve seen to his speech have been either drooling adulation from his sycophant followers who see him as a messiah; for them, Obama could repeat a dictionary and they’d swoon.
Or, criticism about why he wasn’t referring to the jihadism espoused in the texts of Islam, to their continual terrorist acts, their brutality to both Muslims and non-Muslims, why he wasn’t referring to the long wars of conequest in its early years, why he wasn’t referring to the militancy proclaimed by many of its followers, who are not marginal, but who have a large public role.
My answer to that is that although all of this is true, he wasn’t talking to Americans or the West. He was speaking to the youth of the ME, and if he were to give a speech telling them that they are all terrorists, that Islam is innately violent and so on, that would only set them up to be violent terrorists.
Then, the criticism continues about Obama’s quite open and blatant misinformation and misrepresentation of the facts. Remember, Obama’s three campaign tactics are: to manipulate using emotions, to misinform, and, if you disagree, to accuse you of bias.
In this case, his manipulation was clearly emotional, based on his open filiation with Islam. Note that he didn’t say his father was a Muslim (of course he was) for that would make Obama a Muslim.
But his talk was filled with misinformation. The islamic world was not and never was a beacon, a source of scientific advance. They took algebra and zero from the Hindu, printing from the Chinese, other things..elsewhere. The Nobel prizes, as I said, were awarded not to any Muslim in the Islamic countries but only to those who have moved to the US. Again, he wasn’t speaking to Americans; he was speaking to the Muslim youth.
He was telling them, in my view, that they are able to live in the modern world, that they’ve done great science in the past and can participate in the modern world…and telling them that they can participate in their government, that they must and can educate themselves, that women are equal..and so on.
Now, the question we must ask is whether this speech, which was clearly a campaign style speech, was a Campaign Speech for Obama alone or was it a strategic speech for the freedom and advancement of the Islamic world? There’s a crucial difference.
Obama is a narcissist; his focus is only on himself. What he wants is simple; that you adore him and that you are in his control. He has no interest in you or your nation other than this.
The world, however, requires that Islam modernize, that it reject tribalism as a political system, that it educate and enable its people to take charge of their own political system rather than being subject to an elite tribe, that Islam accept the ideas of progress, technology, the use of Reason, the equality of people. That’s what the world requires.
Now, can these two quite different agendas, the agenda of a pathological narcissist and the agenda of the free world, be blended? Can Obama be a catalyst for the second?
Is the way to modernize Islam best achieved by confronting its old guard, the tribal dictatorship, with their own pathologies, and telling them to change? Or by wooing the young, who are brainwashed and yet who are repressed by that old guard tribalism, that they can participate in the modern world?
In the past few decades, we’ve seen the rise of Al Qaeda, which is a violent reaction against modernization, and its recent merger with the rise of Islamic fascism, which is an equally violent reaction against the repression of modernization.
How does one deal with this? I think Bush was right with his rejection of terrorism and his policy of democracy in the ME, which he did by freeing Iraq from a dictator. Now, based on this first infrastructure developed by Bush, is the second step that of Obama’s group (I don’t consider Obama having any ability to think up a policy on his own)…and is this second step a focus on the youth of the Middle East, encouraging them to move into the modern world and away from their fundamentalist leaders?
I’d consider this a correct second step, one which the tribal leaders will fight against.
    We’ll see.

  8. Aaron, we all understand that you want to smoke dope. We all understand that you are trying to justify smoking dope with MSG and fluoride.
What you don’t seem to understand is that without any evidence other than anecdotal “My arthritis was caused by” there is no causal link. My sister suffers from arthritis and doesn’t drink fluoridated water. Anecdotal evidence says that there is no causal link just as your anecdotal evidence says there is a link.
A good friend of mine suffers from MS. He has for years eaten nothing but his home grown organic foods. Is there a causal link between eating organic foods and MS?
I read an article linking autism with vaccinations. My autistic son was not vaccinated does that prove or disprove causality?
The only thing I can surmise from your postings is that you are trying to justify smoking dope to alleviate your arthritic pain by blaming big government (fluoridation) and big business (MSG) for your pain.
So long as you are not endangering some else (driving, work) while killing your pain I really don’t care what method you use to kill your pain. All I am pointing out is your infantile arguments re fluoride & MSG are just that, Al Gorian infantile.

  9. Joe, I never smoked and never will. If you were to give me a lit cigarette, I would have choked with caughs. At the same time if I wanted to, I would not be deterred by it being illegas. You have to be dismally naive to think otherwise – even a 14 year old school soon-to-be-drop-offs know how to get a dope.
You would come across as a grown up if you asked questions instead of passing verdicts.
By the way, my close friend’s autistic son is autistic due entirely to MSG. Sensitivity to MSG is individual.

  10. I just don’t get it why communicating information on toxicity of MSG and fluoride aggravates its potential victims. Should be otherwise.

  11. By the way, my close friend’s autistic son is autistic due entirely to MSG.

  12. wallyj: “Mikey weighs in on Lisa Raitt’s blunder with a very well-thought out response,’I don’t like people blaming 26-year-olds,’ Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff said.”
    Yeah, barf.
And the plot thickens. (Sorry if someone else has reported this, I’m in a rush …)
In the TorStar today, it’s revealed that Lisa Raitt’s press secretary, Jasmine MacDonnell, “is the daughter of Ralston MacDonnell, who is head of a well-connected Nova Scotia engineering company, and a fundraiser for Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff.”
Now, does this pass the smell test? The TorStar reports that “They [Minister Raitt’s assistants] were not given any reminders about keeping track of sensitive papers at their morning meeting” but that “We all know that’s part of the job,” one press secretary said.
So, a routine aspect of Ms. MacDonnell’s job was to keep track of sensitive documents, which she clearly didn’t do. It looks as though Minister Raitt was badly let down — so badly let down that she and the CPC government are completely compromised.
One can only speculate as to why.

The Harper government will cancel a controversial Canada Day fund that for years saw most of its money poured into Quebec, but not before the province receives nearly 40 per cent of total funding available for this year’s festivities.
Heritage Minister James Moore said the government has made dramatic changes to management of the Celebrate Canada fund to ensure that it will be fair for all regions in the country, and he also plans to replace it with a different program for 2010.
“There was a regional inequity in the past and we’re correcting it,” said Moore on Thursday after announcing funding for the Dominion Institute’s Memory Project website commemorating Canadians who fought in the Second World War. “This is the last year of this program as it currently exists and next year we’ll have a new program in place that’ll be even more regionally balanced.”

“Scientists rebut idea that global warming is a crisis
A new book on climate change is hitting shelves soon.
The book — titled Climate Change Reconsidered — is authored by scientists Craig Idso and Fred Singer.
Joe Bast, president and CEO of The Heartland Institute, helped edit the book; he says the book is a response to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s report on global warming.
“It is an authoritative, detailed, and completely scientific rebuttal of the claim that global warming is a crisis,” Bast explains.
The book’s editor continues: “It demonstrates that there is just extensive scientific support that says that whatever warming has occurred is very moderate; that its impact has not been negative on human health or on wildlife; and finally, that carbon dioxide is probably not the driving factor of climate change, and therefore reducing our carbon emissions will have no impact on future climates.”
The authors cite thousands of peer-reviewed research papers and books that were ignored by the IPCC, plus additional scientific research that became available after the IPCC’s self-imposed deadline of May 2006.
Dr. Singer is an atmospheric and space physicist and one of the world’s most respected and widely published experts on climate. He is distinguished research professor at George Mason University and professor emeritus of environmental science at the University of Virginia. He directs the nonprofit Science and Environmental Policy Project.
Dr. Idso is founder and former president of the Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide and Global Change and currently serves as chairman of its board of directors. He has published scientific articles on the seasonal cycle of atmospheric carbon dioxide, world food supplies, coral reefs, and urban carbon dioxide concentrations, the latter of which he investigated via a National Science Foundation grant as a faculty researcher in the Office of Climatology at Arizona State University.”

“NASA Study Acknowledges Solar Cycle, Not Man, Responsible for Past Warming
Report indicates solar cycle has been impacting Earth since the Industrial Revolution
Some researchers believe that the solar cycle influences global climate changes. They attribute recent warming trends to cyclic variation. Skeptics, though, argue that there’s little hard evidence of a solar hand in recent climate changes.
Now, a new research report from a surprising source may help to lay this skepticism to rest. A study from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland looking at climate data over the past century has concluded that solar variation has made a significant impact on the Earth’s climate. The report concludes that evidence for climate changes based on solar radiation can be traced back as far as the Industrial Revolution.
Past research has shown that the sun goes through eleven year cycles. At the cycle’s peak, solar activity occurring near sunspots is particularly intense, basking the Earth in solar heat. According to Robert Cahalan, a climatologist at the Goddard Space Flight Center, “Right now, we are in between major ice ages, in a period that has been called the Holocene.”
Thomas Woods, solar scientist at the University of Colorado in Boulder concludes, “The fluctuations in the solar cycle impacts Earth’s global temperature by about 0.1 degree Celsius, slightly hotter during solar maximum and cooler during solar minimum. The sun is currently at its minimum, and the next solar maximum is expected in 2012.”
According to the study, during periods of solar quiet, 1,361 watts per square meter of solar energy reaches Earth’s outermost atmosphere. Periods of more intense activity brought 1.3 watts per square meter (0.1 percent) more energy.
While the NASA study acknowledged the sun’s influence on warming and cooling patterns, it then went badly off the tracks. Ignoring its own evidence, it returned to an argument that man had replaced the sun as the cause current warming patterns. Like many studies, this conclusion was based less on hard data and more on questionable correlations and inaccurate modeling techniques.
The inconvertible fact, here is that even NASA’s own study acknowledges that solar variation has caused climate change in the past. And even the study’s members, mostly ardent supports of AGW theory, acknowledge that the sun may play a significant role in future climate changes.”

  21. No Aaron I did not bail out. I had to deal with a crisis and didn’t have time to respond.
The reason I said debating with you is like debating with an idiot is because you still have provided ZERO proof of any of your allegations.
Like Al Gore you have picked 1 of literally billions of potential causes and asserted that your one cause is the cause for untold suffering. I can say that my son’s autism is most likely genetic because his maternal grandfather was autistic. Of course Grandpa was born before fluoride was put in drinking water and before MSG was widely used in food so what was the cause of Grandpa’s autism?
I heard that my great grandfather suffered from arthritis. He died in 1927. Do you think that fluoride or MSG was the cause of his arthritis?
