Best Canadian Blog

Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Keith Olberman – Winner of the Biggest Twit of the Century
“…unbeknownst to Mr. Olbermann…”
Uh huh. This time maybe.
I speculate that Mr. Olbermann would open a Twitter himself and stock it with stuff to blame on Fox News if somebody else at MSNBC hadn’t done it for him.
Another “useful idiot” this Olbermann, exposed. Can’t these people like Olbermann just look at Nancy Pelosis daughter and see what kind of an example their liberalism is setting for the next generation?
Keith Olberman has multiple personality disorder and has permanently channeling the persona of Edward R Murrow….who was in constant fear he was being followed by federal agents.
Olberman may be in need of deep psychotherapy. And not just from some common therapist, but from a team of meek, bespectacled Austrians with goatees and briarwood pipes, all working together to study and cure him. There’s likely several psych PhD theses lurking inside his disturbed hemispheres.
Last fall, when the frothing olberman and obammy-soxer matthews were removed from the presidential news reporting line-up, cartoonist Michael Ramirez captured the essential olberman.

This guy has always been a fly off the handle attack first, never correct later, drag on real journalism. He is not an anchor, he is a host, it is not a news show it is a opinion circus.
He singles out Glenn Beck all the time, but Beck calls himself an opinion show, has never claimed to be a hard hitting news anchor.
This guy is a waste of air time and should be pushed back to Air America radio obscurity along with Rachel Maddow.
Hard to see how MSNBC survives the recession with this clown in Prime Time.
Lets have some compassion for the mentaly ill. Ask yourself if you where Keith Olberman. Just how you could contain so many personalities, & not be a driviling social vampire.
Bad example.
the man is mad as a March hare…that much is apparent.. he has identified his constituency and panders to it…what is worrisome is that he HAS a constituency large enough to give him creds.
Kow Kollege Keith will never get over it. Everybody knows that he went to the cow college version of Cornell with an eye toward resume fraud. His defenders say that only 1 in 5 applicants get into either school, OK, what are the odds that 1 out of 5 applicants to Cornell School of Agriculture would get into Cornell University? Vanishingly small.
He is such a twit.
I don’t agree whatsoever with what Greg Gutfeld said but having watched all the American news outlets I sincerely believe that Fox News is the most balanced by far.
I was rather disheartened to hear on my local CKNW news (in Vancouver) a story about Stephen Harper appearing on the “hard right” Fox News channel.
One has to wonder why the words “hard right” were added to the script. First off, it’s not true. Secondly, could you ever imagine a Canadian newsreader saying:
– The hard left MSNBC
– The hard left CBC
– Or even the hard left Pravda
I can’t. Finally, and this is perhaps the worst possibility of all, it seems like a deliberate attempt to associate Harper with “hard right” Americans in the minds of listeners.
Gotta love the liberal media, eh?!
Robert
It’s really something to behold how NW has changed from what it used to be not so many years ago. This station was anything but a friend to the leftard point of view. Now, with milquetoast Bill Good and Kristy Klark, along with the other talking heads, it’s just another piece of static on the AM dial.
Only the weekends keep it interesting with Adler or green……
Olbermann is German for “Brain full of shit”.
John Gibson’s radio show was playing clips of Olby’s interview with Howard Dean, and the two of them talked(without laughing mind you) about how wrong it was to call the President a fascist. Gibson then played three past clips of the same “man” directly calling President Bush a fascist. Olby really is a living joke…
He’s a combo of the worst three traits – boring, dreary, predictable.
Dan, you are SO RIGHT! The station is mostly boring now. My listening habits have dramatically changed, in no little part to this radio player I built and which all others are free to use. I’m not a big fan of commercials so most every weekday afternoon I listen to Charles Adler via his home station in Winnipeg.
Keith’s narcissism’s not getting better quickly, is it? In a year it’ll be: Intern who was late with my Danish this morning? = Worst Person In The World!!!
Rev 1:42 PM: “driviling social vampire” – hah! – I am going to need to remember and steal that.
Robert W. I heard the same thing here in Calgary on QR 770. This is the radio station that’s home to Dave Rutherford and Rob Breakenridge, both conservative talk show hosts, hardly left wing.
Below is an email I sent to the program and news director. I CC’ed Dave and Rob along with Charles and Roy.
Hello John and Natasha,
I’m not sure which of you would like to respond to my complaint so I’ll ask you both.
On Sunday, while listening to the news prior to (and during…and after…) the Roy Green Show, I was struck by a description of a popular news station in the States. While informing us of PM Harper’s tour of the American talk show circuit, newsman Gary Phillips described Fox News as the “Hard Right Wing Fox News”. I’ve been listening to your station for many, many years and I’ve never heard any news organization described in any manner. Why was Fox singled out? Does Mr. Phillips write the news segment and does he have the final say? If so, does he feel his job is to tell me how to think? The reason I and thousands others listen to your station and the talk shows is partly because Mr. Rutherford and Mr. Breakenridge in Calgary, Mr. Adler in Winnipeg and Mr. Green in Montreal all share a relative right of center view point and their shows often revolve around their point of view. You don’t describe or advertise these fine gentlemen as “Hard Right Wingers”, do you? Why not? Their views and opinions would not differ much from Fox News, in fact I’d bet they watch and enjoy it. This is how the CBC would describe Fox News and that should shame you. Actually that’s not entirely true, I watched CBC tonight on this story and they just called them “Fox News”. (although Ms. MacNeil said it with a sneer)
I’d be interested in your opinion on this matter. Is this editorializing of the news acceptable? Why can’t the news be written and read straight up and let the listener decide? If you or Mr. Phillips care to defend this position, perhaps you’d like to give examples of what makes Fox News “HARD Right Wing”.
Thanks for your time,
In Sunday’s Ottawa Citizen, Janice Kennedy wrote an op-ed regarding the Fox “Red Eye” kerfuffle. She stated that she didn’t watch Fox as she wasn’t 1) a redneck, 2) rabid right-winger or 3) dumb. According to Fox’s viewer stats, there must be one heck of a lot of all three in both the US and Canada. The CBC should be so lucky!
This tells me all I need to know about “Progressives” and their opinion of anyone who doesn’t agree with their worldview.
RedState does some real investigative journalism on this case. Not only does Olberdouche have a twitter account his show “Countdown” has a twitter account. Dan Cooper the person Olberdouche accused of being a Fox operative is actually a democrat who hates fox news.
New Revelations In Case of Olbermann v. Twitter
Twitter and Twits – the word association just does not work for me. Who wants to be a twit? Never heard of this application until a few weeks ago and now its mentioned everywhere.
