So on the tax return front, the message is “we’ll hold off on your tax return until we can tax you some more so that we can afford to give you back the money that we over-taxed you in the first place”. Very nice.

Code Pink members were right up front at Pres Obama’s inauguration. They have been trying to shut down the Marine recruiting station in Berkeley for a long time.. Now I am not against the right of protest, but with council providing free parking and turning a blind eye to traffic violations it just fuels their need to be noticed. The Berkley Tree Protest where one feller could have solved a year long struggle tells me Berkeley has given up the will to live as a free society.
I hope the Peace and Justice committee doesn’t find the nuclear pile I have at my library. No one ever suspects the librarians…

IIRC, California has also said that when they do process refunds, they will be sending taxpayers IOU’s, not actual cash. No word on when the IOU can be cashed.

Everything Obama wants to do is already being tried in California. You can expect similar success rates. You can expect similar actions, e.g., California companies move to other states as US companies will move to other countries; the steeply progressive income tax causes fiscal calamity whenever there’s a bad year and the few thousand rich folks who pay most of the tax aren’t so rich that year so they don’t pay tax.
