The MSM and entertainment world won’t be running “Snipers Wanted” ads, or making thinly disguised alagorical movies (Valkry) about the heroism in killing a leader who has “taken our country from us” (actual phrase from trailer) There are two movies out suddenly about heroes who tried to stand up to Hitler. I guess they never thought about winning an election against him and achieving a peaceful transition. I am sure that would have worked against Hitler as well as the strategy has worked against Bush.
    If you look at the assasinations and attempts over the years, they tend to come from the left. Oswald was a commie, Sirhan Sirhan, The attempts on Reagan and Bush. On the other hand, you have one, James Earl Ray, which should not be left out of the mix. Let him have his ride and let it go.
    BTW, Nortel just filed for bankruptcy. I don’t know how long the west can let China undervalue its currency and destroy our companies.

  25. The sin here is not one of an environmental nature as much as it is one of a capitalistic blunder. Tradtionally, the presidential limo was a Lincoln. Ford is now the most solvent Corporation of “The Big Three” auto manufacturers. So why are they not supporting the winner?? Only in America.
    Trevor: 3-4 kilometers per litre is the correct term. That converts to approx. 7.5 miles per US gallon for the enviro friendly Caddy!

    Has every President had a special made car for the big day. Gee, the Queen still uses the carriage of long ago for special events.
    What a waste of money in this poor economic time, according to the experts.
    And if there is such a recession or whatever, where did the billions come from for the election campaign and the inauguration events. I heard that many donated the full 50,000 to participate.
    Is that a tax deduction.
    There is also lots of news about cdns going south for the big day, and their expectations for the guy. Hint, he is Pres of the USA, not the Pres of Canada. He will do nothing for those idiots going to the big day.

    He supported Blago for Gov… twice.
    His first choice to run his veep search was a guy who raped Fannie Mae.
    Got his house from a mobster.
    Has zero experience.
    His chief of staff is almost certainly a felon based on his actions in the Blago scandal.
    He plans to spend 5 trillion dollars over the next four years paying off his political allies.
    And then you let him off the hook by beating him up on what most Americans will see as a legitimate expense.

    My wife was watching ‘The View’ yesterday and Babwa Walters was showing the Inaugural Invitation that was sent to her hairdresser. Apparently, none of the ‘panelists’ of The View received an invite because rather than donating money, as did her hairstylist, they merely shilled for Obama.
    The invitation merely allows the recipient to come to Washington and find a place to stand somewhere along the parade route where they can be beneficently gazed upon by the anointed one.
    Meanwhile, inside the invitation, there was a four page ‘order form’ where one could order not only the commemorative plates, but cups coins, and assorted other bric-a-brac.
    The Inauguration. Not cheap, but sure tacky.

    RFK was killed by a bullet fire from behind at less that 2 inches, just behind his right ear, Saran was no closer than 4 feet and always to the front of RFK
    and Ray initially bought a lever action piece of junk, which he had to return to buy a decent weapon for the job. Ray never fired the gun he bought at MLK, he was just a patsy that was set up, just like Oswald and Sirhan. You should look at some elements of the CIA of that era if you want answers on those three killings.

  43. Good news for you long-suffering prairie readers … looks like the long severe cold spell will end (for a while) later this week. Alberta will be into the milder air tomorrow, then by Friday you’ll find it much much warmer in SK, possibly above freezing (!!!) … and then it’s on to Manitoba, which may take most of the weekend to pry out of the deep freeze, as the fronts move slowly east.
