Sarah Palin’s enemies are automatically added to the Endangered Species List
When Sarah Palin booked a flight to Europe, the French immediately surrendered.
Sarah Palin’s finishing move in the VP debate will be pulling Biden’s still beating heart from his chest & taking a bite.
Sarah Palin doesn’t need a gun to hunt. She has been known to throw a bullet through an adult bull elk.
UNFRICKINGBELIEVABLE!!!
Tonight I peeked into the sewer known as DemocraticUnderground.com, where the misogynists of the left were playing “I can be more revolting than you” in trying to come up with nicknames for Sarah Palin and Michelle Malkin. It was mentioned on Michelle Malkin’s sight as being especially bad this week. Since I find that it is sometimes educational to see what happens on blogs that have a different (and often severely warped) point of view, I sometimes take a couple Gravol and venture forth to Daily Kos or HuffPo. I usually find things much more vile there than at LGF or Michelle Malkin’s, who, even at their most fevered, are usually fairly civil. But I nearly dropped my computer when I clicked on “DU” and saw an advertisement for the Province of Ontario and its fight against global warming. Complete with “My other car is a bike”. My tax dollars, supporting one of the most partisan, vile websites I have ever seen. Does Dalton know about this? Does John Tory? Cal2 & others re CBC coverage of ABC campaign:
Geoff Meeker has a good write-up on his blog (http://tinyurl.com/6bbxao) @ the Tely regarding Danny Williams and the ABC campaign
Steve Outhouse, the director of communications for DFO Minister Loyola Hearn, “We were contacted late last week by a member of the provincial PC caucus, who told us that they were contacted by someone in the premier’s office, asking all ministers and MHAs to find at least four people in their ridings who they can call upon to put their names to letters to the editor, or to put calls in to Open Line shows, to give the appearance that the ABC campaign is away more ‘grass roots’ than perhaps what it is. These calls are happening during business hours from someone in the premier’s office, though I won’t get into who.”
Vote for the one or else a race riot might happen.

Heh,
Tuesday night, CTV reported another cabinet minister, Loyola Hearn, would also not be running in the coming election. Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, Mr. Hearn represented the riding of St. John’s West from 2000 to 2003, and has been MP for St. John’s South—Mount Pearl since 2003.
Emerson isn’t running either.

Frank J. Gaffney, Jr., Sarah Palin’s experience
Listening to her critics, one might think that John McCain’s chosen running-mate is a complete ignoramus when it comes to matters of national security. In fact, Sarah Palin’s background in Alaska, including most recently her service as that state’s governor, suggests that the judgment of the Republicans’ candidate for Vice President with respect to this portfolio is likely to be substantially better than that of either Barak Obama or Joe Biden…

The destroyer Ramage left the pier Friday with a big, new arrow in its quiver. Departing as part of the Iwo Jima Expeditionary Strike Group, the 14-year-old warship was the first Atlantic-based Arleigh Burke to deploy ready for ballistic missile defense.
“She is loaded,” said Rear Adm. Alan Hicks, program director for Aegis ballistic missile defense, in a teleconference with reporters. “She can search and track for cueing; she can do engagements of exoatmospheric threats; and she can defend herself against air threats. That is our definition of fully mission-capable.”

What’s really going on here is that the Beltway class can see how popular the Palin pick is with Republicans outside Washington, and especially with middle-class conservatives. As Richard Land, a leader with the Southern Baptist Convention, said Monday, John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin closed the “enthusiasm gap” between the two parties.
There is nothing more dangerous to entrenched Washington power than a populist conservative who looks unlikely to buy into Washington’s creature comforts.

(Via Comment Central) Jonah Lehrer, Daydream achiever
Although there are many anecdotal stories of breakthroughs resulting from daydreams – Einstein, for instance, was notorious for his wandering mind – daydreaming itself is usually cast in a negative light. Children in school are encouraged to stop daydreaming and “focus,” and wandering minds are often cited as a leading cause of traffic accidents. In a culture obsessed with efficiency, daydreaming is derided as a lazy habit or a lack of discipline, the kind of thinking we rely on when we don’t really want to think. It’s a sign of procrastination, not productivity, something to be put away with your flip-flops and hammock as summer draws to a close.
In recent years, however, scientists have begun to see the act of daydreaming very differently. They’ve demonstrated that daydreaming is a fundamental feature of the human mind – so fundamental, in fact, that it’s often referred to as our “default” mode of thought…

Suann Therese Maier, A Vote for Sarah Palin
As a woman, mother, wife, and lifetime professional educator, I will vote, enthusiastically, for Sarah Palin as vice president this November. Even if the media pressure forces her from the ticket, I will vote against the Democratic party—partly because I respect John McCain and believe him to be the better candidate, but equally because I’m tired of the intransigence and condescension of the Democratic leadership on the abortion issue…
I will vote for Sarah Palin because she has guts. We’ve never met, but I suspect I know something about her life, and so do a great many other women. I know what it means to have a son with Down syndrome. I know what it means to talk a good line about religious faith and then be asked to prove it. I know what it means to have a daughter pregnant and unmarried…
Finally, I will vote for Sarah Palin, not because I’ve left the Democratic party of my youth and young adulthood, but because that party has left me. In fact, it no longer exists. And no amount of elegant speaking, exciting choreography, and moral alibis will bring it back.
That’s the real tragedy of this election.
(PDF warning) Joseph Fewsmith, An “Anger-Venting” Mass Incident Catches the Attention of China’s Leadership
On 28 June there was a major mass incident in Weng’an County in southwestern Guizhou, the poorest province in China. At least 10,000 people, and perhaps as many as 30,000, according to some reports, participated in the riot, in which police cars were overturned and burnt and the Public Security Bureau building set on fire. Video and still photographs of the event quickly made their way onto the Internet. Whether because of the inability to cover up the size of this incident, the approach of the start of the Olympics, or for other reasons, Chinese media coverage quickly switched to trying to explain the causes of this incident and to call for reforms to prevent similar confrontations in the future. Although the 28 June disturbance was particularly large in scale, similar incidents have been happening in China for at least the last four years…

Over on his blog-site, Buckdog, Left dog is complaining that you banned him from “telling the truth” on SDA. I know leftdog is a typical radical socialist-fascist when it comes to blocking posts on his site, but I have always enjoyed his rantings here on SDA. He always mixes it up, so to speak.
As far as I know no one gets banned on SDA unless they use profanity or are just completely out of control. May I ask what leftdog had done to get blocked from posting here? Or is he even banned?
(Via Melanie Phillips) Palin’s Importance
When Alaska governor Sarah Palin was chosen for the McCain vice presidential ticket, most attention was on her beauty-queen past and down-home North Woods family life. In reality, she’s the powerful governor of Alaska, the most pivotal state in the union for energy.
John McCain understood well that it’s the one state that can liberate the U.S. not just from high prices but from increasingly threatening enemies whose power derives solely from high oil prices…

“Stephane Dion’s useless subsidy
Liberal Party leader Stephane Dion has had to back down on a major portion of his carbon tax. Faced with growing criticism from farmers, fishermen, and truckers, and the frustration of Liberal MPs who would lose votes from these groups, Stephane Dion is throwing money at the problem.
But not just money. He’s going to give farmers, fishermen, and truckers a subsidy that can only be applied to buy green equipment to replace existing equipment. Which I’m willing to bet makes this an utterly useless subsidy.”

My guess is that Ralph Goodale raised a stink about how unpopular this plan was and that selling it was causing him grief. So they threw in the “Goodale clause ” to give him new spin.

Dion is definitely not someone who would or should ever be PM. Introducing a new tax during the cusp of a recession is insane. None of these changes will help out middle income families who will be burdened by this tax grab. Time to wipe out what’s left of this party that has no vision.
