Y2Kyoto: The Training Starts Here

Meet the Climate Youth!

In a luridly-designed website, mimicking the style of “yoof” cartoons, it offers a bundle of downloads, including a pack of “climate crime cards“, urging its recruits to spy on families, friends and relatives, inviting each of them to build up a “climate crime case file” in order to help them ensure their putative criminals do not “commit those crimes again (or else)!”
Quite what the “or else!” should be is not specified, but since the “climate cops” are being encouraged to keep detailed written records (for those who can read and write), there is nothing to stop these being submitted to the “Climate Cops HQ” for further sanctions, the repeat offenders being sent to re-education camps. And for those “climate cops” that successfully perform the “missions” set (or turn in their own parents), there is the reward of “training” in the “Climate Cop Academy”.

Someone should forward this idea to the Liberals. A little tweaking of the colour scheme, and it would dovetail quite nicely with Dion’s Green Shaft.
The Climate Cops website: “The training starts here”.

  1. Just look what was in the Burlington Free Press on this topic today.
I tried to find the maximally stupid quote, the the competition is so fierce for that catagory, I had to settle for a rebuttal line from an economist whom they added for fairness.
the index assumes that any level of unequal income distribution reduces progress,” which could imply that progress would be maximized, holding other factors constant, if “100 percent of the people are all dirt poor.”
    Consume like it’s 1969

  2. I saw this story the other night. It sounds like what happened with the Jacobin Club in Paris during the Terror. Next they’ll drag out the guillotine and start yelling “Off with their heads!” Isn’t it funny how history always repeats itself.

  3. I posted this on Garth’s website:
“Hey, if the liberal’s fantastic new plan will be a boon for western Canada, why not try it where it really needed?
Ontario’s economy seems to be slipping a bit, so why not focus the Shaft there?
Dion was on the radio a while back saying how Saskatchewan would be much better off in the long run after being Shafted.
But we’re doing quite well right now, so instead of helping us by smashing our economy and buying votes in the east with our cash, why not do it the other way around.
Smash what’s left of Ontario’s economy instead and give us the loot.
According to the liberals they are going to do us a big favour by stealing from us and wrecking our economy so we can build an even better one.
Wouldn’t it be fairer to let Ontario go first in this wonderful new plan to stimulate economic growth by looting their economy first?
And after it all works out for the best, it would be a tad easier to sell the West on the Shaft.
So how about it Garth? If the Shaft is going to be so good for Saskatchewan and Alberta, why not Shaft Ontario first?
It’s a liberal plan and the liberals mostly live in the east, so why don’t you go Shaft yourselves?
    Leave us alone.”

  4. Nope. Wouldn’t want the U.K. to warm up. Nope. Couldn’t have that.
Somebody should tell the kiddiwinks that there’ll be no imported hipster hats, gansta running shoes and ghetto pants in the new Climate Cops world.

  5. AAH yes indoctrinate the young, to quote Herr Shicklegruber “give me the youth of Germany for 5 years and they will be mine” I can see it now give the CC a bit of a slant (to the left ) and it will get the sought after “rune” look the S S sported. Environmentalism is the new Communism/fascism take your choice. I for one am sick of Al Gores big fat ass and Diesel Daveys weird beard both consuming like it’s 1957 and telling us “the sky is falling” Neither of these wanna be leaders pays squat in taxes, lives in multiple residences, but feel the “peasant lifestyle ” of the middle ages is about right for the rest of us. Now if we would just throw a virgin into the volcano, they could appease mother earth for us, assuming of course the alms keep coming in. I feel like I’m stuck in a very bad movie. Anyone know how large Daveys houses are????

  7. Reeducate the children! Turn in the parents!
    Sounds like the Khmer Rouge.
Does anyone know anything about FoodSafe? This nenergy site talks about letting hot food cool down before freezing it. Is that right? Or could certain foods grow some lovely bacteria if allowed to cool to room temperature?

  8. Get them when they are young and keep repeating the mantra.
Does our future hold hordes of children running around chanting slogans from a little green book and denouncing their families and teachers?
Come to think of it … they are missing out on a UNIFORM …. perhaps a version of the Chinese tunic and cap … done in hemp and dyed green with environmentally correct stains…..??

  9. this comment taken from http://wattsupwiththat.wordpress.com said it nicely. A form of carbon credit/trading within the household to balance out the family carbon footprint may be in order.
    “TinyCO2 (13:29:22)
I think this climate cop thing is a good idea. Parents who are caught out should be suitable chastened and help put things right. They should carry out the following CO2 reducing activities:-
    1) Remove the fuses from most of your child’s toys, tv, phone charger, etc.
    2) Turn off the heating/air con to your child’s bedroom, ambient should do
    3) Refuse to drive your child to anything fun
    4) Serve cold, locally sourced food (lots of broccoli)
    5) Buy new clothes for them from a second hand source
    6) Halve their allowance and place it in and eco fund.
    7) Make them plant trees on the weekend.
    8) Send them to a local camp while the rest of the family fly away on a holiday.
    9) Make them wash the dishes and their clothes by hand.
I’m sure we can think of some more helpful carbon cutting hints.”

  10. Well in all fairness, all the carnivals, pool halls, games rooms, movie theaters, cell phone chargers and those damned highly lit baseball fields and hockey rinks will have to go, doncha think?.

  11. I can just see it now:
The 12th CC Dion Youth Division, fanatic youths fully indoctrinated in Gorean Myths and Fears, will be used as the shock troops in the secret war to save the planet form us all.
Heavy casualties are expected when the current global cooling period destroys their fragile egos and they turn in vengence against the fools that betrayed them in the first place.

  12. A few facts are in order. npower is just a power and gas marketing company (think something like Direct Energy). As a middleman, they sell delivery contracts to end customers and purchase gas and electricity from producers. Naturally, they have a renewables division which they also market, for a premium of course.
This is a marketing tool, one no less vicious than the exploding pigs website of a month or so back.

  13. And to carry on Fred’s idea:
To create a pure Gorean race:
    – All newborns showing any sign of strenght and auto determination will be sent to special green reformation schools. Possible electro shock therapy and other ‘break and remold’ methods for the tenacious ones.
    – All residents living outside big city cores living off the land for profit and/or are private entrepreneurs will have to be rounded up until a “solution” is proposed (Government workers excluded).

  14. I think I prefer the Mafia’s approach. Never – ever – rat out or betray the family.
At least there was honour in that system.

  15. We need to throw all the Global Cooling Deniers in jail.
Suzuki should be the first one rounded up.

  16. Don’t laugh, IF Dion gets a chance to implement his carbon tax we’ll be washing not only dishes by hand but our clothes on the washboard as well.
Then we’ll be hitching up old Dobbin to go get supplies.

  17. As the planet gets cooler, how is it that the “Green Grift” keeps ramping up?

  18. A “500 Millioner’s” dream is not complete without a ruthless brainwashed army.
Warning: extremely chilling and disturbing content which makes Hitler look like an amateur:

  19. I am still waiting for bombardion and his merry band of leftarded jerk off artists to start the “sky is falling” routine concerning water.
Maude Barlow and company are already laying the groundwork, and citoyen bombardion has already mentioned it a few times.
I know one thing for sure. If any of those moonbat morons show up in my neck of the woods crying about water use, I will invite them out in my boat for a one way ride.
If we are running out of water, they should be able to wade back to shore…….moonbat idiots!

  20. Wonder if Jan Wong will comment on this. Her admitted shameful past (she admits both the past and its shamefulness) is the spying and tattletaling by youth on frineds, parents etc in Mao’s China…
Makes you wonder if this thing would give her flashbacks and nightmares

  21. Love ChrisinMB’s suggestion. It sounds like my niece who was so proud that she was not going to buy a car when she turned 18 because that would not be good for the environment – when her mother asked her how she was going to get around her response was that either she would borrow her mother’s car or that her mother would drive her. Right now I’m enjoying my air conditioned house (I’m self-employed and my office is at home) and it is the only way I can be productive during the hot days of summer.

  22. cgh at July 28, 2008 2:49 PM says : A few facts are in order.
Quite right CGH …. and I suspect that those of us so inclined figured that out for ourselves.
Regardless of the primary intent of the site there is an obvious problem with the mere act of building it and none of the possible explanations are good.
1- Ignorant pandering to the popular theme? Same thing as spreading the falsehood.
2- Callous disregard for the hypocrisy? Same thing.
3- Deliberate effort to co-opt those who might be future customers? Pure evil.
Once again…. the very fact that such efforts are undertaken is a problem.
People recognizing and Pointing out the nature of that problem should be viewed as a GOOD THING !

  23. “As we speak, cars in Boston and factories in Beijing are melting the ice caps in the Arctic, shrinking coastlines in the Atlantic, and bringing drought to farms from Kansas to Kenya”.
    — Barack Obama, Berlin Speech: ‘A World That Stands As One’ ( Oh ya…and you are the ONE then are you Obama?)
What drivel! Is he just hoping that we are incapable of observation? I was at the beach yesterday on the Oregon coast. News flash. It is not shrinking. And it is not going to!!!

  24. “Fascism with a smiley face.
Expect more, so much more, with a president Obama.”
    and-
    “The Komsomol redux.”
My thoughts exactly. Both Komsomol and the Hitler Youth strongly encouraged their brainwashed youth members to spy upon and inform on their families. Now it’s not entirely hyperbole to say there’s the “Climate Jugend”.

  25. Adolf Suzuki and Heinrich Gore’s little green shirts spreading the word. The cartoon format suits these small minded things.

  26. First saw this “Energy Star” propaganda last year on late-night cable:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dg3zwveJR0w
    Some lowlights:
Annoying cleric: “How we respond to this problem of global warming identifies what it means to be human today.”
Ernest educator: “We’ve got a captive audience, and it will transfer as they become adults.”
Shriverneggar’s California is further blessed with the “Flex Your Power” program, “a partnership of California’s utilities, residents, businesses, institutions, government agencies and nonprofit organizations”. (Didn’t Germany toy with this public-private partnership concept 75 years ago?)They have mounted a very aggressive radio and TV campaign featuring this slogan:
“Global Warming: it’s not just a fact; it’s a choice.”

  27. What makes you think this is not happening now? In the French elementary schools here not a class goes by in which there isn’t some ecological reference. In high school my son had an English exam that was all based on ecology questions.
I have seen scholarships set up up for the ecologically minded. Lots of summer jobs are make-work ecology projects that look good on your resumé to get into the right university. And on and on…

  28. it is the first step of the “Cultural Revolution” accent on the Cult.
the new indoctorees will be called the “Green Guards” and will be encouraged by Dr. Mengele Suzuki to turn in their energy wasting parents , secretly hanging out with old men in treehouses at night even though we know Dr. Fruitfly has a penchant for nudity.

  29. This re-education to turn in your parents would start in those liberal daycare centers. Substitute green shirts for brown shirts and what have you got. You did notice Obama in a salute where Hitler spoke to the mesmerized. Funny, that shot has not been in any of the papers.

  30. I’m telling you now, this country is wind up like Beirut if this keeps up. There is an ideological civil war coming to a city near you and it won’t be a lot chatting around a table or brandishing protest signs.
    This is not good.

  31. And the Conservatives are preaching global warming with all the fervour of a kool-aid brigade.
    Distressing.

  32. There’s a radio commercial being run that features a little voice of a six or seven year old saying, “Dear Mom, I was brought up to believe there was good in the world, then I saw you throw out a juice box… You can forward my mail to Sara’s house.”
Throw out a drink box and everything good thing you’ve ever done isn’t worth spit. You’ve obviously gone over to the dark side and I must abandon you, my parent.

  33. Next chapter: Sponser the kids to Pakistan Summer School where they can learn to be enviro-martyrs.

  34. Next chapter: Sponser the kids to Pakistan Summer School where they can learn to be enviro-martyrs.

  35. “Global warming isn’t a fact. It’s a choice.”
Wonderful quote. As Canadians we SHOULD be choosing global warming. Increase our growing season and warm things up and drive all other southern economies into the dust. We could sell our crops/lumber/water to the dying billions who live closer to the equator.
Don’t Greenies want a lower population? They really should be letting us warm the planet and thin the heards a bit.

  36. To OMMAG @4:51 p.m: Who said criticising these sites and activities wasn’t good or that there was any justification for it at all? I think you missed the point of my post. This disgusting website doesn’t even have the courage of its own convictions, however wrongheaded they may be. It is simply a two-bit company freeloading on the treehuggers’ agenda. It’s a prime example of the trash that comes in with the rest of their program.

  37. “We could sell our crops/lumber/water to the dying billions”
What lumber? The pine beetles will have eaten most of it. We’re already being hit by climate change, and it’s costing us billions.

  38. john, climate change has been with us and the planet for millions of years. it will continue to change in spite of our efforts to claim the power of God. the world will gain and lose species and other things as long as there is a planet. some day the earth will be a cold, dead, dry rock. it will be much like mars. there is no way we can change that.

  39. It is too late to tax small potatoes greenhouse gases which contribute very little to warming like CO2. Let us go to the source ASAP and tax the sun. Any country allowing extra sunlight to radiate on its land and water, which subsequently re-radiate heat, ought to buy sun credits from low light countries currently threatened by all this excessive warming. Someone call Stephane. This will make Kyoto look like an even bigger joke.
