A poll that needs your vote to go horribly right.
(I like “Hansen should be fired by NASA for overstepping his bounds”, but your milage may vary.)

something worthy of CBCpravda. adjusting the colour scale to make zero look warmer.

I already voted several times. Fire Hansen. It is ludicrous to excoriate oil company executives, since all they do is run companies that explore & produce a “legal product” so that consumers can drive their vehicles, heat their home etc etc. If there are any beefs about AGW, oil companies don’t produce cars or trucks or airplanes – just the fuels to propel them. That is a crime? Go after Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota, Kubota, Boeing, etc for producing “polluting”, fuel guzzling machinery. Hell, go after politicians for allowing roads to be built, or airports.
Jesus, people are stupid! Some of these nut cases should take a long walk off a short pier, it would do more to “save the planet” than persecuting oil company executives. It would probably improve the gene pool as well.
Yes Kate I agree with you on this one, I chose should be fired. He must think along the same lines as Suzuki, when he said, to wild applause from the students, that politicians should be held accountable and jailed for not controling emmissions. I thought we had the only dork, I guess the Americans have one too……argee
you didn’t say which dot to click on?
voting one particular dot would increase the effect
of ‘sda world’.
is it just me?
Personally I have little sympathy for Energy Execs.
though the scientist is obviously mad and should be fired for that, though there is no button to click- fired for being a mad scientist?
I suppose he would like to charge all newspaper and magazine execs with environmental crimes too would he? How about the paper monger NASA?, the government bureaucrats?, how about manufacturers with all that packaging?
Guess I should read the smaller print, fired for overstepping..,
O.k., I voted fired to.
pardon my double clicked revised comment
jt
maybe we should also “look” at the ppl who buy and excessively use those vehicles/oil products
I did a quick study once and found that with the rite approach the west could reduce their “oil” consumption by as much as 60-70% with life style changes, tweeking of exicting technology, and considering “recycling” at production & packaging end, rather than after user end!!
Nota bene: The topic here is Watts’s poll.
SDA Nation making its presence felt in the NASA gene pool!!
Vitruvius:
Sorry. Couldn’t resist.
And I voted in the poll. (I picked “Congress should ignore this opinion” etc.)
Fire him.
Why not go after the execs at Coca Cola, revenue growth @ 19.80% vs. Exxon @ 7.10%
26% agree with Hansen!
I counted to 10 before acting, and voted he should be ignored.
This mohammad pbuh looks suspiciously like one ALI_ROGER who’s a well known trouble maker on a number of sites. There are several people posting under one name. One of the posters is quite literate, while at least one is clearly mentally challenged. If “he” continues to comment here he’ll become more and more aggresive and abusive.
I voted too, Garth, when the poll first came out, and I voted for dismissal, because as I understand it, he has in my opinion overstepped the bounds of proper administrative behaviour, which is what he was hired for.
It’s the sun,son.
Just say no to solar warming denial.
No, Woodporter, I do not. And frankly, I don’t want the job, I’ve got better things to do than babysit SDA regulars who left their brains in bed this morning and are acting like idiots. What the he11 is wrong with some of you people? How many times has Kate asked you not to respond to trolls, especially off topic trolls, because it makes her job of cleaning up after them harder? This is not Reader Tips; there is a topic here. But no, you are too stupid to pay attention. So, that’s it, I’m not commenting in this thread any more, because if I was Kate, I’d just delete the whole danm comments thread to at least try, once again, to teach people some sense.
all weather change in USA can be predicted if all those lost becaue bad weather report or not let people know earlier should USA blame of thier scientist up there in NASA
CAN we trust USA in any thing doing right ?
or just wait for theri sorry letter again to come up
USA is put more priority in war to pay attention to their more important thing can help their american life better
every time I watch CNN they show flood of water and houses washed away
then where is those scinteince or enviroment group up there is doing most likely doing nothing
probably watching news how many Muslim are involv war to pay attention to their country
the problmes is USA weather affect Canada weatehr too if we want to have healthyenvironemnt both counrt all north and south america should pay attention to warning and prevention program before it happend
US alwyas mess up and put more time to clena their owne mess
why not do reduce tehir mess before it happend
I voted for dismissal, for the following reason: once a scientist crosses the line into activism/politics, their effectiveness as scientists is essentially finished. The activism cannot be allowed to infect scientific debate, therefore, there is an exclusionary process that must ensue by his peers that adhere to pure science. An administrator/leader that destroys their own credentials and effectiveness cannot stand. They are tainted, which puts into question the pedigree of their work. It’s a shame, really, to lose the education and experience.
Stop responding to off topic and trolls – you make my cleanup more time consuming.
Hansen should be fired or step down (and we all know what “step down” means).
Fire him now, lest he do more damage.
I deal with REAL 3D engineering modeling and this is embarrassing.
maybe we should also “look” at the ppl who buy and excessively use those vehicles/oil products
Another leftard heard from who wants to control what other people buy and use. Really worked well in the USSR. What a**es leftards are.
JT said – I’ve already voted several times.
Merci beaucoup, you’re not helping. If you can’t be honest don’t play the game.
He was on the radio yesterday grokking about the kids future and those evil oilmen feasting on the bones of their victims, orsomething.
he sounded like he needed a long vacation.
“Grokking” means a deep understanding of an issue (Vit, any help here?). It doesn’t apply to publicity-seeking dorks.
Correct, Paul, grok is from Heinlein’s Stranger
in a Strange Land: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grok
call it faux grokking then, dork.
But to be fair to your comment, Reg, you may have
meant that he groks that there’s one born every minute.
Upon reflection, I must also add, that there are any number of scientists working earnestly in their fields on the environmental file – work which is essential.
Just one of these activist/scientists, caught advancing a junk science agenda, does significant damage to the work of all the rest.
I am skeptic on AGW, and I do think “climate change” is junk science. Yes, the winters are milder than I remember as a child. Did we cause it? I doubt it very much. Can we fix it? If we needed to, probably won’t make a dent. Does a tax solve it? Please, my sides are hurting now.
Nevertheless, when it comes to the environmental file, a great deal of good science goes on, and is necessary. For instance, can the Pacific Salmon be saved? How?
It is highly irresponsible for this fellow, and fruitfly guy, to practice unprofessional and unscientific activism that invites backlash, thus obscuring and devaluing the real important hard environmental science work that goes on quietly behind the scenes. For that reason, if for no other, he should step aside. Good advice for “Dr” Fruitfly too. If the environment was really as important to them as they would have us believe, they would understand exactly this risk and, rather than inflict further damage to “the cause”, step aside, and join in the debate as informed citizens persons rather than agenda-bearing pseudo “authorities”.
superfluous imaginary care is what is meant ie, one not adept at providing what he imagines is needed but slobbers on anyway. politically a liberal with his sleeve drenched in blood.
Not really important, anyway. [%-D)
This was one of “our” polls going terribly wrong, until we stepped up to the plate. Goose – gander – hello.
Foobert @ 6.11 Just say no to solar warming denial.
Luv it!!
Hansen is an obvious loose cannon at Nasa. He deserves to be tossed overboard.
James Hansen’s rhetoric is so aggressive, it makes me wonder about whether oil executives are in personal danger. Consider that if they are like Nazis, some nut or a zealot ecofundamentalist may just conclude that for the good of humanity and the earth, these guys must die.
I wonder how many people in North American think like he does?
Kate says ‘jump’, you say ‘how high?’ Such sheep you all are!
Now repeat after me: We’re all individuals! We’re all individuals! We’re all individuals!
ol hoss at 8:06 PM
fool, I’m a large C conservative
I’m not into controling others, therefore the “look” , indicating that needs should be considered and addressed, both utility and economy, CAPICE!!!!!
It looks like some major computerized ballot stuffing is going on by Hanson’s friends(s).
