Not Worried About The Asteroid

Heh.

For the 77th consecutive month, FNC finished first in total day and prime time ratings during May. FNC was the sixth highest rated cable network on all of basic cable during prime time for the month (CNN and MSNBC finished 19th and 26th) and the seventh rated network in total day (CNN and MSNBC were 19th and 27th).
FNC also had 11 out of the top 13 programs in cable during the month in Total Viewers. The O’Reilly Factor was the #1 program in cable news for the 90th consecutive month, and saw gains in Total Viewers year-to-year (26%).

  1. Say what you will, I’m sure glad my 88 year old mother in Michigan tells me she watches O’Reilly every night (wish I could too) and NOT Orpah (the woman who has done the most to damage America) because then all I could do is pray for her soul.

  2. If O’Reilly gets the bag off his head re: AGW we would get the world view “without” Murdock’s self interest.

  3. Fox can be annoying sometimes, but at least they carry both sides of the story. As for O’Reilly, he’s an arrogant moron, but I’ll still watch him over Chris Matthews.

  4. I wish we had a FNC type channel in Canada. In the mean time the USA version is still a hell of a lot better than CBC.

  5. Oh that Canada could have our own a Bill O’Reilly equivalent!
O”reilly may well be arrogant, but geez watching suck ups like Duffy and hard lefties like Don Newman particualrly on my dime, makes me want to barf.

  6. I don’t even LIKE Bill O’Reily. He’s a Long Island NY small ‘l’ liberal dressed up like a Conservative. Listen to him talk about SUV’s some time, you’ll see what I mean.
But compared to the dorks on CNN, he’s awesome. YAY FNC!!!

  7. But Joe, Don Newman is using O’Reilly’s line “The spin stops here” I think his version refers too actually twirling on the spot. What else could you possibly want from the CBC?

  8. Thank God for our nanny government and the CRTC for protecting the Canadian public from Fox News.
The CRTC ….. what hypocrites – continually telling us they know what’s best for us.

  9. I was just thinking about the slant of the news we get here in B.C., CBC,CTV,Global,Fox, CNN(on two channels), MSNBC.
Hm, not much balance, is there?

  10. BCer, Shaw Cable carries Fox News.
I rather like Neil Cavuto, too, on business/politics.
He will not let his guests try to get around his questions, by spilling the usual answers. He can be quite stern, but in a nice way.
    Congratulations to them all!

  11. BB:
Strange. I subscribe to Shaw Cable (Basic + Classic) and while I certainly get the Fox Network channel, I just as certainly don’t get Fox News. I do not subscribe to their digital service. Is that what you meant?

  12. I can’t stand to watch FOX anymore what with all the book deals every 10 mins and then having to watch Gretchen pull her skirt down continuously.
    ,

  13. 77months in a row. almost aligns with the rest of the MSMs report of continuous US recession.
anyone catch the CBCpravda Keith Boag report from Europe. He couldnt talk to Harper so they have him looking at a newspaper reporting on how they have a picture of someone other than Maxime Bernier. worse than tabloid journalism. – pictures of wrong tabloid journalism passing for a story on the information arm of the lieberal party.

  14. cal2, the CBC and Brag in particular will gobble up air time as long as there is a anti-Harper theme somewhere in the background. The content, or validity, matters not.

  15. Brit Hume’s news hour is great. O’Reilly is grating and just can’t formulate intelligent follow-up questions a lot, but, his show exposes blatant fools that otherwise would have the luxury of exposure protection by the lefty media.
Scratch a lefty, whose intellectual comfort level exists only in their echo chamber of groupthink, and, what they really hate about FOX is its existence.

  16. Fox News is balanced. More than any other large news organization they try to match the facts with the story. Fox doesn’t have a history of making stuff up to fit a pre-conceived social engineering agenda. Fox has succeeded more than others in solidly backing up what they tell the public and correcting their mistakes. Fox is more open to critics and will openly meet with them to debate the issues. Fox’s commentary is generally forthright puts today’s news in context with historical fact.
Put that in Suzuki’s CBC bong pipe and smoke it. Those clowns lack the capacity to even come up with a “Don’t Taze Me, Bro!” t-shirt (something I would have expected to come from a leftnut propaganda commune like the CBC way before Fox News).
In short – Fox works to earn my trust and pretty much every other news organization doesn’t care. That will buy my time and attention every time.
Good job O’Reilly & Co.! Keep up the great work.

  17. FNC is great, for those who can, get a provider that has it available. Hume and Wallace et al are solid balanced guys, Hannity and colmes are a good punch and judy act, and OReilly is a bombastic yet surprisingly fair guy who is certainly good at self-promotion yet he doesn’t take himself too seriously.
However the key to their success IMO is that they get views from both sides. You will see non-hostile interviews with Rove, Gingrich etc.
    ….
On a related topic – the dinosaur meme that Kate is using never seems to have any news from the to right-of-centre print media cos. in CDA – MacLeans and The Nat. Post. I’m hoping no news is good news – that their readership/advertising is stable and possibly growing.

  19. Bcer….you have to subscribe to Shaw’s digital service to get FNC, or Expresvu.

  20. Starchoice satellite service carries Fox News Network as well.
This home’s TV is set to FNN from 0730 until bedtime (except when the Missus wants to watch something else.)

  21. No mention of Scott McLellan’s expose of the Bush gov’t. in which he states Bush ‘intentionally ignored’ any evidence that contrradicted his ‘WMD’ scenario about Iraq and took the country to war through misleading propaganda for reasons that were other than stated?
This has been said by critics all along – now it’s stated as fact by an insider.
Of course, McClelland’s just a ‘disgruntled former employee’, right?
So many of them – Paul O’Neill, Richard Clarke – all confirming that Bush is a liar and that the rationale for war was an exercise in duplicity!
At the very least one has to ask why the Bush admin’ has created so many ‘digruntled employees’…bad management style? A failure to hand out Christmas bonuses?
    Suck on it, losers!

  22. Fox News is number 1 on my Sirius radio preset. I like listening to O’Reilly “don’t be a pinhead”, Neal Cavuto “Recession, What Recession!”, Hannity & Colmes is good balance & Red Eye is hilarious and anything but conservative.
My favorite guest has to be Dick Morris. His insights and pedictions are uncanny and 2nd to none.

  23. “suck on it looser”
Sums up the depth of bolik’s intelligence nicely. Typical drooling lefty inflicted with ‘Bush Deragement Syndrome’.
We know, we know lefties…..Bush is responsible for the Titanic sinking, the lost city Atlantis and bigfoot.
What are you poor self-loathing lefties going to do when Bush is out of office and you only have your selves to stare at in the mirror?

  24. Bolik,
an to think so many well educated Democrats were so easily fooled by McBushy’s lies. HAHA
After all it was sooo obvious.

  25. Glenn:
My Sirius radio is tuned to Channel 145 whenever I’m in my car.
I get steamed listening to the disrespectful, raving loony lefty around midnight.
I get inspired by Cultural Warriors like O’Reilly. I laugh at Brian and the Judge.
It’s a network that presents real differing viewpoints and I’m not surprised their TV shows are No. 1-rated.

  26. Yes Bolik, who better than a press secretary to know all of Bushes dirty secrets.
After all, every leader lets their PR hack into all the secret meetings with the Illuminati and masons…

  27. I refused to watch Fox News for years because of the content of the Fox Network programs which I found profoundly objectionable. If only I’d known sooner. Comparing coverage of the war in Iraq on FNC versus CNN or the networks is laughable. Friends with family on the frontlines would tell me one thing, CNN would say the exact opposite. Fox News war coverage always has mirrored what I hear from those on the ground, good and bad. That is all I ask from the news. Report the facts and keep your opinions to yourself. Fox and Friends in the morning is hilarious. They get so manic sometimes I have to turn the channel to HGTV to get the blood pressure normalized. Best talk show I’ve ever seen.

  28. BCer- There should be a “news bundle” available as an add-on package. You’re forced to get MSNBC, BBC’s international coverage, bloomberg and a couple of others, but it’s worth it to get Fox News.
It took about 3 years of my asking my cable supplier semi-annually about Fox News before they even had someone who recognized that there was a difference between Fox News and a regional Fox station. One even asked “but you already get CNN, are you sure that that’s not the channel you mean?”

  29. Hey missing link, etc.–
Are 80% of the American public suffering from Bush Derangement Syndrome? ‘Cause they all hate Bush!
It’s priceless to watch you sorry hacks trying to recycle talking points from 2003 in an attempt to declare undying allegiance to your Feurhrer!
You imbecilic stooges have been exposed for what you are – a bunch of wanna-be fascists who will defend your authoritarian master’s right to lie over 4000 people into their graves – as has been displayed and verified.
The majority of the country has wised up to what Bush really is. But you blubbering nitwits gather here to retail your stale talking points in service to your authroritarian cult.
    Again: suck on it, losers!

  30. about to witness bollacks self servicing himself. eeeewwww.
    the mind boggles and retches.

  31. Hey bolik
You were getting rather repetitive in your last inane tyrade.
Give it up and go away.

  32. Ha! Ha!
    I love it!
The sound of misled wimps licking their wounds, begging for the awful man to stop telling them the truth.
Hey guys – keep your wit-free rejoinders coming! Replete with your submental misspellings!
Too bad about the over 4000 murders you enabled though, huh?
Ah, but that’s a small price to pay for serving your great authoritarian master Bush, right?

  33. Bolik invoked the nazis by comparing Bush to the Fuehrer. I invoke Godwin’s Law. Bolik, you lose the argument. Now go play in the sandbox outside with the other little leftards. Y’all have until next February to figure out who you’re all gonna hate once GWB is out of office. And calling us fascists is kinda rich, considering that fascism originated on the left and is still living there, albeit with a smiley-face mask.

  34. Since when is Bush the topic of discussion? Seems like Bolik is a one trick pony.

  35. Gotta love the bolik ranting – proof positive of just how disturbing those Fox ratings are. Bring it on, moonbat! Icing on the cake…

  36. Hey morgan
Is Bush’s 80% disapproval rating ‘icing on the cake’ too?
How’s life in the bunker, morgan? Don’t believe those reports that the Russians are closing in. Victory is still yours for the taking!

  37. Hey, bolik, you nitwit, Congress has lower ratings than Bush and has for awhile. Google it.
Hey, the Democrats are the majority there, got an explanation for that?

  38. bolik,
Why didn’t Scott McLelland have integrity and resign in February, 2003 when it could have done far more damage, instead of “kicking the dog when he’s down” now?
The 80% includes conservatives who don’t like the river of pork -> including the 2008 Farm Bill that will hurt Canadian producers.
The 20% includes Dennis Miller who prefers dead Wahhabi terrorists in Iraq to dead Wahhabi terrorists in NYC.
Why do Michael Yon and Michael Totten report that they can walk down the streets of Fallujah without helmets or body armour of any kind?
Why are the residents of Greenville, Kansas rebuilding their town if Obama said they were all dead?
    ———-
SDA: Less than 1.1 million hits to go ’till the big 10 mil.

  39. Yeah Penny, I do!
The Dem congress was elected to end Bush’s (your) war. They didn’t do it. So the public rightly gives them a low rating? Why? Because they’re colluding with Bush, the most hated president of all time!
Penny, you cool with enabling over 4000 dead for a pack of lies? How’s the bunker working out?

  40. When I travel, I only book hotels that have FNC on their lineup, in the US, this used to be a bit iffy, but now they all seem to have it.
    Not so in Canada

  41. I’m with you, Cappy. Or, I complain bitterly. The cruise line I frequent had us saddled with CNN and BBC World. What trite and meaningless drivel. Even the Wall Street Journal was a European version and so sadly diluted. They now carry Fox News, which for some reason comes in at remote locales, e.g., the Amazon River, where CNN and BBC doesn’t, at least in 2006 and 2007. VIVA FOX NEWS!!

  42. So, bolik, are you saying the Dem congress lied and people died? Shouldn’t you be more worried about the traitors in the Dem leadership than Bush, who won’t be around much longer?
Your Dem leaders tell you they will end the war, then work with Bush to keep it going? Isn’t that a little disturbing to you?

  43. iowa
You’re asking about ‘my Dem leaders’? Why do you think they’re ‘mine’.
I find them culpable as well. Along with most of the media and people like you, if you were the kind who was so lazy as to support a war whose rationale was not based in fact.
The kingpin though, is Bush – he is the initiator and his disgrace will live on in history. He, like the quacks emitted on a site like this, will live on in infamy and ridicule for future generations.
